secure what has been widely seen as a surprise republican victory in a solidly blue state, and turn out they have. now, these events very light on any campaign speech and also light on any policy talk, but we did have a chance to catch up with the senator-elect to talk with him very briefly about the very big job awaiting him in washington. >> waiting for you when you get to washington. can you accept a more scaled down version of the health care proposal? >> i have to see what's there. i think they're going to go back to the drawing board. it was i think on its last legs before i got there because of the back room deals and the lack of transparency. so i'm open to see what's going to be proposed. i'm not sure where it's going to stand in the pecking order, if we're going to deal with taxing and job creation issues or we're going to deal with health care first. i haven't been briefed. >> reporter: priority one for you? >> priority one is to get a business card and an office, get my staff set, and then get a feel for what's going to be coming up. we have the appropriations bill that i need to focus on and make
