more than a units of packaging are used in the beauty industry each year, and blue beauty is a term used to describe environmental beauty products. i've been speaking to yolanda cooper, ceo and founder of we are paradoxx, a haircare brand attempting to go completely plastic—free. she explained some of the difficulties involved. the problem is the supply chain does not provide what we need to be 100% plastic—free. as you mentioned, we do shampoo, conditioner, and so on. while we can source bottles that are made of aluminium, for example, there are no pumps available yet that are not made of plastic. so the issue really lies at the very start of the supply chain and it is not available to us yet. you use aluminium. i think it is worth pointing out that aluminium actually takes a lot of energy to produce in the first place. what is your gripe with plastic, if it could be used again and again, wouldn't that be the answer?
