Force should not have been used against George Floyd while he was handcuffed and on the ground, an expert witness on use of force in the trial of Derek Chauvin has said.
Police sergeant Jody Stiger of the Los Angeles Police Department told the trial in Minneapolis on Wednesday that it was wrong for Mr Chauvin to continue to pin Mr Floyd to the ground with his knee until paramedics arrived, when it was clear he was restrained and not resisting.
