Deputies in Spartanburg County find missing dementia patient known for leaving care facilities

Spartanburg County deputies have found a missing dementia patient who left an assisted living facility, according to Lt. Kevin Bobo, with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.Lt. Bobo said deputies were on scene at Rosewood Assisted Living in Pauline, looking for John Dawkins, 67.Officials said Dawkins has been missing for roughly 4 hours and is known to leave care facilities.Dawkins was found alive and is being accessed by medical personnel.Lt. Bobo said Dawkins fled from a different facility several weeks ago and was found by a Grubhub driver two days later, about a third of a mile from his last known location. A canine team, helicopter, and emergency management search team were brought out to aid in the search.
