VISTA —
Deputies on Thursday arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of assaulting and attempting to kidnap a woman a day earlier as she was walking her dogs in a Vista park, authorities said.
The victim told deputies the man was alone in the park, and as she got near him, he spun around, grabbed her shirt and tried to drag her into some bushes, sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Johnston said Wednesday.
The two struggled, they both fell and the man dropped his cell phone, Johnston said, adding that the woman suffered light scratches on her legs from the fall. The woman stood up and grabbed the man’s phone, but he snatched it back before fleeing.
