Department in talks with IMO over Public Health Doctors
Public Health Doctors have accepted an invitation to talks tomorrow (March 4) from the Department of Health to the IMO aimed at resolving the ongoing dispute on the extension of consultant status to the specialty.
Tomorrow’s discussions follow a meeting in January where it was agreed that the IMO would consider a number of position papers, following which further engagement would take place.
In December, IMO Public Health Doctors voted overwhelmingly in favour of strike action as part of the dispute.
Originally scheduled for three days in January, the Public Health Committee decided to suspend the strike action momentarily because of the pandemic
