Dennis Benham founded the family firm which became Benham Precision Engineering

Dennis Benham
HE was the gentleman founder of a successful Southampton engineering firm.
Dennis Benham, who set up Benham Precision Engineering in 1978, has passed away following a short illness aged 88.
After a lengthy spell working for electronic components manufacturer Mullard in Millbrook, Dennis saw the opportunity to go solo and established DAB Engineering at the age of 46.
He opened a small workshop in Peveril Road in Woolston, laying the foundations for today’s successful business, which employs nearly 100 people.
His two sons and two of his grandsons work for the family firm, which specialises in precision engineering for the aerospace and defence industries, from premises in Rushington and Three Legged Cross.
