David Saxton, 62, formerly Brookhaven, got three years of probation after pleading to two counts of animal cruelty in shelter dog's death. Saxton admitted to police that after the rescue dog lunged at him he strangled him, hit him repeatedly with a metal candle holder and cut his throat.
