Delta Honours Komagata Maru Passengers With A Story Board Sign

DELTA – Raj Singh of the non-profit Descendants of the Komagata Maru Society requested the City of Delta Council to recognize the Komagata Maru passengers. After some initial frosty reception from some of the councilors, the Motion to recognize the passengers of the Komagata Maru passed on December 14.
“I would like to say thank you to the Respected Mayor George Harvie, the councillors, the Mayor’s advisor Param Grewal, the City of Delta staff, and the City of Delta Heritage Advisory Commission for their work in making this Komagata Maru Story Board sign a reality,” Toor said
Delta will install a Komagata Maru Story Board Sign in the North Delta Social Heart Plaza so that residents may be better informed of the hardships and struggle that the passengers of the Komagata Maru.
