East Delhi BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has claimed that the entire garbage dump at Ghazipur landfill site will be processed by December 2024, even as the environment committee of Legislative Assembly expressed displeasure over the speed of work.
About 3,000 metric tonnes (MT) of legacy waste at Ghazipur landfill site is being processed daily. So far about 3 lakh MT of legacy waste has been processed at the dump site, Mr Gambhir said in a statement.
"Fifty per cent of legacy waste will be processed by March 2023, 75 percent by March 2024 and 100 percent of legacy waste will be processed by December-2024," he said.
