A "temporary" suspension of in-person inmate visitation that has lasted nearly four months will be lifted later in March, the Delaware Department of Correction announced Friday.
Prisons will resume visitation beginning March 16, but will start taking registrations for visits on Monday. In-person visits have been suspended since mid-November.
Department of Correction officials said the suspension came "amid rapidly increasing numbers of positive COVID-19 test results among the general population and indications of significant community spread of the disease."
