YOUNGSTOWN — Brian Donlow Jr. finished out the testimony portion of his aggravated murder trial today without calling on a professional to take over for him.
In fact, Donlow seemed to be gaining steam as the final witness in the trial, Detective Mike Lambert, took the witness stand. Lambert testified about his investigation and what the surviving victim in the case told him.
Donlow, 26, has served as his own lawyer, but a standby attorney, J.P. Laczko, remained in the courtroom during the two-day trial and could be seen talking with Donlow during breaks.
Donlow and two others are charged with aggravated murder in the Nov. 18, 2018, shooting death of Christopher Jackson Jr., 21, of Warren, in a car at the corner of Bennington and Stewart avenues on the East Side.
