The Duluth Economic Development Authority has unanimously approved the transfer of five vacant land sites around the city to developers. They plan to construct tiny homes and townhomes on the sites.
Duluth will now lead the state in planned tiny home developments.
The houses will be built as part of the Rebuild Duluth Plan. It allows developers to build on city land for free if they plan housing that meets goals for affordability and sustainability.
In this case, there will be fifteen tiny homes built on vacant land around the city. There will also be townhomes built on those plots of land that are located in the Fairmount, Gary, and Central Hillside neighborhoods.
