Friends of the Lexington Library provides nearly $40,00- for the project

The Lexington branch of the Davidson County Public Library system revealed this week the results of its latest renovation, which includes new, brighter lighting to help visitors find the perfect book.
Begun in September 2019, phase two of three phases of renovations was completed in late April. In addition, the library reinstated normal hours of operation Monday, but still, asks that visitors limit their visits to 30 minutes with some exceptions.
"This used to be an old grocery store," said Allen Barnhardt, manager of the Lexington branch. "We moved in here in 1985. This is the first renovation since 1985."
