Members of the bar association honored Serratelli at a ceremony last week for her decade-long effort to establish a county CASA program and for her steadfast leadership of the CASA team during its first two years – a period marked by unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, a press release said.
CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to represent the best interests of abused and neglected foster children in the court system. In any given month, Dauphin County has more than 370 children in foster care who could benefit from the advocacy of a dedicated CASA volunteer, the release said.
