All profit from Giving Day donated to the Vermont Foodbank
Vermont Business Magazine Darn Tough Vermont and the Vermont Foodbank are helping ensure kids in their home state remain food secure in the coming season. Many that benefit from free or reduced meals during the school year often see that access change during the summer months. The company is donating 100% of its May 19 profit from online sales to the Vermont Foodbank, resulting in 39,230 meals contributed.
The additional support brings the total number of meals donated to nearly 900,000 over the course of their partnership.
This is the second major 2021 initiative by Darn Tough to reduce hunger – a challenge that affects nearly every community in Vermont, the country, and the world. Earlier this year, the company partnered with the now famous Bernie Mitten Maker, Jen Ellis, to create the JENerosity sock, which provided 294,111 meals to Vermonters through the Vermont Foodbank.
