Darlington County Detention Center requests help after facing staff shortage due to COVID-19

DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – Florence County helped its neighbors to make sure its detention center was well staffed on Sunday.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WMBF News that Darlington County Sheriff James Hudson requested help after COVID-19 caused a staffing shortage at the detention center.
Sheriff TJ Joye sent four Florence County Detention Center corrections officers to Darlington County to cover a Sunday shift.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said the request was for one shift, which has been completed.
