MELAKA: Melaka police sent a clear signal to the recalcitrant operators of six illegal online gambling outlets by cutting off their electricity supply and going after property owners who lease their premises for such activities.
State CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Sukri Kaman said the six operators had boldly resumed their illegal activity despite the action taken against them earlier.
"They were charged in court but they persisted in their activities without fear.
"These operators disregarded the law, but we will not let them go free," he said on Thursday (Feb 25).
ACP Mohd Sukri said the operation against the gambling dens took place from 10am to 4pm on Thursday and involved officials from Tenaga Nasional Berhad.
