FITCHBURG, Wis. â Dane Countyâs largest solar project is now fully operational.
The release said it advances shared energy goals of Madison Gas & Electric and its seven partners.
The project covers 160 acres with about 60,000 bifacial solar panels that track the sun throughout the day.
âWe are excited to have this solar array in service, providing carbon-free, cost-effective electricity to our customers,â said Jeff Keebler, MGE Chairman, President and CEO. âThe OâBrien Solar Fields project serves as a great example of how, by working together, we can advance shared energy goals, including MGEâs goal of net-zero carbon electricity for all our customers by 2050.â
