Dailies highlight President Abbas’ decree on consolidating public freedoms ahead of elections

RAMALLAH, Sunday, February 21, 2021 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused today on two decrees issued by President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday, concerning the consolidation of public rights ahead of the presidential and legislative elections, and on allocating seven seats in the next Palestinian Legislative Council to Palestinian Christians.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida said the first decree will reinforce public freedoms in Palestine from Rafah, in the farthest south of the Gaza Strip, to Jenin, in the farthest north of the West Bank.
Al-Ayyam said the decree calls for consolidating public freedoms and for the immediate release of any political prisoners.
