There will be no fireworks displays in Da Nang and Quang Ninh on this year’s Reunification Day (April 30) as the central city and northern province’s authorities followed Ho Chi Minh City to call off the pyrotechnic performances over COVID-19 fears.
The cancellations were announced on Monday afternoon.
Given the recent strong outbreaks in neighboring countries such as Laos, Cambodia, and Thailand, the medical authorities and the Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Da Nang feared that the risk of a resurgence in Vietnam remains high.
