DA-Caraga culminates Filipino Food Month, showcases Pinoy cuisine

BUTUAN CITY, May 4 -- The Department of Agriculture (DA) - Caraga conducted the Filipino Food Month culmination program highlighting the indigenous and local food source through a cooking competition.
The participants of the cooking competition hail from the Rural Improvement Clubs (RIC) of Barangays Bobon, Tiniwisan, and Taligaman in Butuan City. The competition was divided into three rounds wherein 30 minutes was allotted for the 'alimango' or crabs as the main dish, 30 minutes for the mudfish, and 40 minutes for the native chicken.
Supervising Agriculturist of Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) Isabelita Ocampo stressed the importance of celebrating the Filipino culinary tradition notwithstanding the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
