Elders and the most vulnerable people in the community should get first access to the COVID-19 vaccine, a frustrated and bewildered Sen. Julian Cyr (D-Truro) said Thursday.
"Adults over 80 are most likely to die from COVID-19," Cyr said during a COVID Task Force press conference. "If we can get to them first, it will help save lives."
Cyr said he initially went to bat for the Baker/Polito Administration’s vaccine rollout plan "because I thought it prioritized the most vulnerable." But he added, "speed has won out over equity."
