A SPIKE in reports of accidents involving children on bicycles has prompted the launch of a new initiative across Hambleton schools.
Primary school pupils are being asked to enter a poster competition to help remind everyone about cycling safely.
It follows a number of reports of accidents involving children on bikes including riding their bikes on pavements, dodging pedestrians, not wearing helmets and riding without lights on dark nights.
The competition has been organised by Hambleton District Council’s Safer Hambleton Hub, along with local police and fire crews.
