Curbside voting, state rule changes led to long Election Day in Brook Park, county says

Losing Fire Station No. 2 as a polling site, Ohio Secretary of State’s Office rule changes, low retention of experienced poll workers due to the coronavirus, and a significantly higher than expected number of curbside voters contributed to the problems, Perlatti said.
“For this election, with social distancing requirements put upon us by the CDC, Ohio Secretary of State, and health officials, we weren’t able to get the additional space we wanted for voting individually at the fire station,” Perlatti explained during council’s Dec. 8 caucus. “Working with the mayor’s office, we agreed to move that precinct into the rec center.”
