Wake Forest, N.C. — Senior quarterback Cade Cunningham ran for a one-yard touchdown with 10 seconds left on the clock to give Heritage a 28-22 non-conference win over Southern Nash at home on Friday night.
The Huskies survived a scare from the visiting Firebirds after some self-inflicted mistakes gave Southern Nash a huge opportunity to win a game Heritage was largely in control of.
A shanked punt gave Southern Nash the ball inside the Heritage 10 with under three minutes to play, and a one-yard touchdown score by Terence Raspberry brought the Firebirds within a point.
