As David Bowden takes over Workington AFC as the new chairman, Reds enter an uncertain period.
When asked in the House of Commons what support was available to clubs like Workington, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Oliver Dowden said: “We know the value of these clubs, that is precisely why we included £25 million of funding for National League Clubs in the Winter Sports Survival Package.”
He continued: “This is of course on top of the unique lottery deal which has provided £10 million for National League’s top two tiers to get them playing this season. He told the Commons: “And of course we will continue to work with the sport.”
