BLOOMFIELD — A Connecticut resident most known for his portrayal of Captain Kangaroo in the show’s 1997 revival died in his home on Thursday.
According to his obituary, John Edward McDonough died in his Bloomfield home on Jan. 21, his 67th birthday.
The obituary said McDonough was born in Hartford and went to Northwest Catholic High School. During that time, it said, he played Puck in “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof.”
