MADISON — The Madison Historical Society has received a gift from a local artist, artwork depicting a historic home known locally as “The General’s Residence,” which stood at the corner of East Wharf and Boston Post roads before being destroyed in August 2020, according to a release.
William Dowling, a local landscape artist and historical society trustee, presented the framed watercolor to the society May 6 at the Allis-Bushnell House, the release said.
