Either he was not a very good carpenter, or more likely he wanted he left that apprenticeship in his late teens and came to georgia to study law. He came to study with a prominent lawyer. He was clerk and did very well. He passed the bar. When you pass the bar, you have to swear loyalty to the king. His mentor was also a loyalist. He had many cases before the bar. He became a very prominent lawyer. He also accorded a young lady by the name of dorothy and her father was a prominent loyalist. That meant they were very strong supporters of the king. There was beginning to the satisfaction with the king. This is a problem with for george. He was hanging out with the liberty boys, which were to georgia with the sons of liberty were to new england. They were not happy with the king. Employees became more formerly the council of safety. And so when they organized to set for senator to be second confidential congress, george was elected to go with that group. We are standing in the hallway of the structure. The interesting thing is to houses but together. It is an 1800s structure joined to George Washingtons home, which is the 1700s structure and we are not certain which house was moved to one point one house had to be moved to join the other. For many years we have thought that George Waltons home was right where it is now. As we do more research we think that this house built in 1820s or 1830s was built and then George Waltons home was joined. The defining point of the houses is that they are different levels. From this wall back is the newer structure. As im stepping down into this room, from this wall back we are in the older structure of the house. This would have been George Waltons home. This would have been their primary room for entertaining. All of the Close Friends or family members would have been entertained in this room. None of the furnitures original to this house, but everything is. Appropriate period appropriate. He stays in philadelphia for a year and worked on much of their law work. He was very important. He stated philadelphia when a lot of people fled. He had to leave philadelphia to come back to georgia because he was also a colonel in the militia and me revolutionary war. He came back in time to defend the savanna from the british but unfortunately he was not successful. In fact, he was wounded, he was shot. He fell from the horse, his leg was broken as he was captured by the british. But this was fortunate because the physicians were able to take care of his wounds and to heal and that he only walked with a limp. Any people died from such a wound. This make him made him very concerned about dorothy. He wanted to send her to safety controls the in charleston. A center on a ship with some of her people, but on the way the british captured the ship. That ship was shipwrecked, so they were in the west indies. Letters were sent and george raised money to have her ransom so that she and her people could be brought back. From this point forward, george is always good to have many problems.
