My current reading list is long but is coming into the middle of the summer now so i am working on wreck, the third novel by joe day, is los angeles mystery pointer. An iq is his character. As the third book in the series. Its kind of a detective novel. Is a private investigator and alone and a lot of action and a lot of great relationships. Im working on that in a muscle working on frederick douglass, a biography published recently, im working on that. Its a fairly long book. In popping in and out of that. Quite a bit. Im taking that in chunks. And for the policy, david one of the think tanks in washington dc, is the lead editor of the called china of 2049, and brought together some reform minded chinese scholars look at what the chinese economy might look like. In what is challenges are between now and 2049. Obviously, for the u. S. Chinese policies. Its interesting kind of workrelated book. I dont read a lot of books for work. I usually read for entertainment. In a kind of throw in a couple of books about Washington State, my home state as well. So on my shelf, is a book by whitaker was jim whitaker son, the First American to climb mount everest. In his memoir about him growing up with this very famous father who was the First American to climb mount everest. So this by reading list for the rest of the summer. Host now the china 2049 book, and washington, that is. Affected by trade with china is in it. Washington state is the most trade dependent state in the country. At about 40 percent of jobs in our state are directly tied to trade with countries all over the world. Not just china but china is one of the largest trade partners for Washington State companies. And the men who work in this companies. So having a fairly good idea, for good look into the principal of the chinese economy in the future has a direct impact on Washington State economy. And that women and men who work in this jobs. Host do you find your self in congress trying book ideas the politics brightest night now with all my colleagues but a few of them, im. Avid mystery reader and theres one member in particular that we traded book ideas rated usually around the mysteries, they were reading lately. Which series on the mysteries were reading lately. Its kind of hard take my interest in sharing them with my colleagues the reading. Host and youll spend those long flights from ca and up and hunt seattle to dc in a book. Rick people always ask, when you find time to read. Five hours on average one way across the country. Plenty of time to read. I can only watch so any recently released movies and so any Netflix Series are there streaming services. Good a book a good book on paper, the hardback or the paperback is still the way to go for me. Host tells about the Second District of washington for you to see what other than to be in the best district in the country, and hugs the islands in the northwest corner of the district. The city of everett which is in the south end of bellingham in the north and prayed in the district has beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains to the west and the cascades to the east. It really is from the scenery perspective a beautiful district. Its also, i was born and raised there. So my families been in the region for generations now. So zero great honor as well to be able to continue to represent it. Because my family is separated for my family has been here longer than some and not as long as others. So always good to stay humble as well. And think about serving people here in the district.
