Senator johnson is university of minnesota, i the senate at the start of the Manufacturing Company wisconsin. Senate chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs committee reserves on the Foreign Relations and transportation. Please welcome and thank them for all the work he does for the citizens of wisconsin. 90 friend. You for hosting this event on such a gloriously triple wisconsin day. Im here for them all to say thank you to the Vice President for coming here again. Hes almost an honorary member, he doesnt want to hear that but he and President Trump have been to wisconsin so often because he loves the state and hes concerned about our citizens and he wants to make sure they do everything they can to recharge our economy. The Vice President has done such a great job manning the task force. Im here in the briefings i know the difficult situations hes trying to manage or example. The ppe, the demand was 2 to 3 times greater in what the supply was the Vice President working with our manufacturers throughout the country made it available in an organized fashion so nobodyran out. I think hes done a great job. Unfortunately the Mainstream Media has not given the president kind of they deserve on managing a difficult situation but i just really appreciate the great job the vicepresident has gone. My other role is to introduce a great secretary of labor. You know his father is the towering, powerful and wonderful Supreme Court Justice Scalia and his son is brilliant as well. Also he manages for example the Unemployment Benefits that we provided in the care zach for people who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own so this administration has done a great job caring forpeople. In concern about those individuals that lost their jobs and helping fund for example the ppp program to help businesses recover from this terrible situation and secretary, Eugene Scalia has done a great job as our department of labor secretary to welcome our Department Labor terry Eugene Scalia. [applause] [applause] thank you all for the introduction. Thank you for the great work you do for the people of wisconsin. Thank you for bringing to the senate the experience of somebody whos created jobs is a sick common sense and insight that is so needed in washington dc. Its my pleasure to save all of you as your us secretary of labor happy labor day. Its wonderful to be withyou. So labor day is one of our Oldest National holidays along with christmas, president s day, memorial day and the fourth of july and thats because American Workers dont built this country alongside our great president together with our faith in god and this nations founding ideals and with the support of the brave men and women given their lives to this country. And this year in 20 20 we got a lot of American Workers. And they thought amazing things. Dating lives in hospitals, maintaining our food supply in factories across the country. Turning on a dime to produce countless ppe, masks, ventilators and now the progress were making. And its my pleasure to be here to thank all of you here at the Power Cooperative or what you did day in and day out throughout this crisis to keep the lights on and keep wisconsin powered and keep this great nation power during this time sothank you. [applause] this year began so well for American Workers. We had 3 and a half percent unemployment was the lowest unemployment seen in 50 years. We had rising wages and wages rising especially for lower wage workers thats why the president in his state of union and it was a bluecollar boom that was an amazing time and the current virus evidently challenged this country in a lot of ways including onthejob. Thats part of the reason i was so please friday to be able to release our jobs reports for the month of august which was a very strongreport. It showed in august we created 1. 4 million jobs across the country, thats 10. 6 million jobs added back unemployment dropped almost 2 full points to 8. 4 percent unemployment. That number is high, higher than we want and we bring down tell you what an achievement that is to get us down. 4 percent unemployment for months interdependent. It took four months and in the last administration under the last president took us three years, 34 months to get unemployment under. 5 percent and we got to 8. 4 percent in just four months. We have work to do and the president is focused on adding additional jobs back and helping those who are unemployed and thats why if you get the support senator johnson it with programs like the Paycheck Protection Program when congress didnt get its act together to extend Unemployment Benefits back in july the president established a program through fema provide elemental wage payments to people who still are outof work. I am grateful for where we are now for workers. I thank the president for decisions hes made all the way back to january and march through now to support our workers, to the people back to work and i also am thankful for somebody whos been alongside him every step of the way. Supporting the president , supporting American Workers, supporting American People and that are Vice President. If you for having me here today, thank you for all youve done for wisconsin, for the country the past few months and have a great labor day. [applause] thank you secretary scalia, thank you senator johnson. What great remarks. Its my pleasure to introduce the Vice President of the United States. Today we welcome the 48 and current Vice President of the United States mike pence. He graduated from Hanover College and Indiana University school of law and after graduating Vice President pence practiced law with the policy review foundation and in 2000 he wants a successful bid for a congressional seat in indiana and was reelected sixtimes in congress. In 2013 Vice President pence was elected governor of indiana and in 2016 resident donald trump elected mike pence as his running mate President Trump and Vice President pence entered office on january 20, 2017. Join me in giving Vice President mike pence of their great barry lyndon lacrosse welcomed. [music] hello wisconsin. It is great to be with all of you on a beautiful american holiday. Secretary jean scalia, our great friend senator ron johnson. The derek van or into all of our fellow americans fromnear and far. All across the badgers state it is great to be with you here in la crosse and i cant think of a betterplace to be. On an american holiday where we celebrate americas tradition of hard work and the American Dream for 79 years youve been keeping the lights on here in wisconsin so to all the hardworking men and women of Dairyland Power and to every American Worker across wisconsin, happy labor day. [applause] you can grab a seat if you got one. Before i go any further, allow me to bring greetings from another friend of mine. Who loves the badgers state, who i think is the best friend American Workers have ever had sitting in the oval office at the white house. And i told him this morning i was headed to across, i think he sounded just alittle bit jealous. So allow me to bring greetings from a friend of the state and a friend of American Workers, i bring greetings from the 45th resident of theUnited States of america ,President Donald Trump. Im here because with President Donald Trump this president stands up for faith and family and the american flag. I stand with President Donald Trump. When this president stands up to the radical left and their socialist agenda, i stand with President Donald Trump. And when this president stands up every day and fights for American Workers and jobs, jobs , we stand with President Donald Trump. [applause] four years ago a movement was born. Of Everyday Americans from every walk of life. Look how far we come. Four years ago we inherited a military hollowed out my devastating budget. Economy struggling to break out of the slowest recovery since the greatdepression. Terrorism was on the lies throughout the world. And we witness a steady assault on our most cherished values. Freedom of religion the right to life. In our first three years, whats the difference the decision that wisconsin may mix. We dont our military, this restored the articles of democracy and were getting our soldiers, sailors, airmen , marines and coast guard and our veterans the resources just and support they deserve every single day. [applause] we revised our economy by cutting taxes across the board, rolling back federal, unleashing American Energy fighting for their trade. Appointed judges will all our god and liberty including a Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. [applause] i couldnt be more proud of the Vice President to a president who has stood without apology for the sanctity of human life. And for the freedom of religion of every american of every faith. And beyond all of that, beyond all the last 3 and a half years this president and this administration have stood with the men and women of law and enforcement and we will standwith them every day. President trump and i know the men and women who serve in Law Enforcement are the best of us. They put their lives on the line every single day. They literally count our lives as more important than our own. And they serve the respect of every american. Now to be clear, any incident involving the police use of force will always be thoroughly investigated but there is no excuse for the rioting and looting that we have seen in kenosha and in cities across the country and this violence against civilians, against property and against Law Enforcement must stop and it must stopnow. Now, President Trump and i will always support the right of americans protest. Rioting and looting is not peaceful protest. Earning businesses is not received those who do so will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Why president ial action just a few days ago. We sent 200 federal Law Enforcement officers into kenosha, working with the National Guard and local Law Enforcement we quell the violence. So to this president i promise you we will have law and order in every city in this country for every american of every race and greed and color. So help us god. [applause] now, four months old joe biden talked about was peopleprotesters. As the American People watched businesses and communities in our major cities for. Lastly joe biden after three months of silence spoke out. I guess violence in every form takes but right after he said that, he criticized Law Enforcement. And joe biden never condemned antifa and never condemnedhis staff for bailing out violent criminals. He never called on democrat leaders to get their cities under control and i think people in wisconsin know joe biden would double down on the policies that have literally led to violence in our major american cities. Joe biden says america is systemically racist. And that Law Enforcement as an implicit bias against minorities. When asked whether hed support cutting funding for Law Enforcement joe biden replied yes, absolutely. But under President Donald Trump, i promise you we will always stand with those who serve on the thin blue line of Law Enforcement. Theyre not going to defund the police, not now, not ever. [applause] now, President Trump and i know what you all in wisconsin know. We dont have to choose to supporting Law Enforcement and standing without africanamerican neighbors and families who to improve the quality of their lives. To improve safety and create more jobs and better schools. And for the first day of this Administration Week on both. I promise you, were going to keep supporting Law Enforcement and keep supporting our africanamerican neighbors and all the minorities in every community in the city every day from your to come. [applause] so its three short years, with the support of the people of wisconsin we rebuilt our military. We revised our economy reedit we stood for liberty and law and order. The result, i can tell you having traveled to more than 30 countries as Vice President , america is respected in theworld again. At home, our godgiven liberties are more secure today and in our first three years thats only three ways you can describe those years. It was jobs, jobs, jobs right here in wisconsin and all across america. I mean, with less regulation, more American Energy and better trade deals this was businesses large and small created more than 7 billion good paying jobs in just three years. And on this labor day its great to remember that wages were rising in those first three years, wages were rising at their fastest pace in the last decade. And we couldnt be moreproud. But in those first three years wages rose most rapidly for hardworking bluecollar americans. Forgotten men and women of america are forgotten no more. [applause] and under this president s policies manufacturing has comeroaring back. So when joe biden was Vice President , america lost 200,000 manufacturing jobs. The last residents of those jobs would never come back. You remember . Was the summer four years ago , 2016. The president back then wondered aloud how you could ever bring manufacturing back to the heartland. He said what magic wand you have . We didnt need a magic one. We just needed President Donald Trump and the white house. 500,000 manufacturing jobs in just three years. Beyond that the lowest Unemployment Rate ever recorded for africanamericans and hispanic americans. At the end of our first three years or americans were working than ever before. Let me just say with him presence here today none of that would have been possible without the strong and principled reports of senator ron johnson. Wisconsin, when you join me . On your show how much you appreciate a man was then fighting for wisconsin values and wisconsin jobs. Thankyou senator johnson. Without strong allies in the congress, weve created the greatest economy in the world in 3 short years. We madeAmerica Great again. And then, the coronavirus from china. People of wisconsin deserve to know that before the first case of Coronavirus Spread from persontoperson, within the United States President Trump took the unprecedented step of suspending all travel from china before the month of january was out. And i can tell you lead a White House Coronavirus task force, action alone save untold american lives. And it bought us invaluable time to stand up the greatest National Mobilization since world warii. [applause] at the president s direction we marshaled full resources of the federal government and American Economy. We partnered with private industry , and when i took over the task force we done no more than 8000 tests total nationwide for the coronavirus. Today American Ingenuity we performed more than 800,000 coronavirus tests today. We worked with private industry to arrange for the production and delivery of billions of supplies of personal protective equipment to our great doctors and nurses and hospitals all across america. We saw the delivery of those supplies at the point of need in one city after another where the impact was the greatest. Where the challenge was the greatest and i will tell you are in wisconsin across america, every american should be grateful for our doctors, our nurses and our healthcare workers and First Responders who have risen to the challenge in this hour of our trouble. [applause] our hearts go out to all the families and lost loved ones during the course of this pandemic. Including more than 1000 families. I want to say to each and every one of them, youve always known our hearts. But you remain in our prayers. But were going to continue to develop medicines each and every day that are saving lives across the country. More therapeutics are becoming available and every day. And i promise you were not going to rest. Were not going to rest until we have a safe and effective corona virus vaccine for the American People and we put this iris in the past. Its amazing to think when operation works feed the president initiated a project where believe it or not , we have several vaccines that are already in the final stages of clinical trials. Were not waiting until theyre approved to produce the vaccines reedit the president s direction are actually manufacturing vaccines even as we speak so that the moment the fda says that we have a safe and effective Coronavirus Vaccine , we will have tens of millions of doses available for theAmerican People. And i have to tell you, joe biden said not long ago that no miracle is coming. Here in america, were in miracle business and were going to have a safe and effective vaccine for the coronavirus beforethe end of this year. So were slowing the spread. Were protecting the vulnerable. And we are saving lives. Each of us has a role to play. In the midst of this pandemic our president also worked with leaders in both parties in congress and with senator johnson in particular to secure for American Families and for american businesses. Its amazing to think we were able to secure nearly 4 trillion in the 14 American Families and enterprises. The Paycheck Protection Program alone is estimated to have said 50 million american jobs. But i promise you wisconsin, going to continue to put the health of america for because of the Strong Foundation President Trump poured into those first three years because of the aid we secured for families andbusinesses , after losing 22 million jobs at the height of thispandemic , weve already seen more than 10. 6 americans go back to work already. The american combat has begun. [applause] in the last four months alone weve literally seen half of the americans lost their jobs go back to work. And that includes 200,000 americans right here in the state of wisconsin. Nowhere opening up america again. And were opening up americas pools. [applause] just last week we spoke to educators around the country. Leaders of colleges and universities around america to make sure they had the support and guidance to be able to safely reopentheir schools. People across the country are working safely reopen our k12 schools and im proud to report a schoolteacher ive been married to for 35 years is already back in the classroom at her elementary school. I want to say thank you. I want to say thank you to the dairyland employees leaned into this effort to get our schools back open. On the plane on the way over here im on a lot of you there and volunteered to build plexiglas barriers and remove church, to make our classrooms our kids. For our kids and our teachers and ourschooling. Job. [applause] so weve gone through times of testing. But were coming through together. The hardworking people of wisconsin deserve to know as we go through this time of testing were a good time of choosing. The choice has never beenmore clear. Amazing things in the middle of a global pandemic, joe biden wants to raise taxes i 4 trillion. And President Trump for our not only cut taxes for working families and businesses large and small as we, were letting the American People keep more of what they earn and i promise you are going to keep adding for tax relief for working americans everyday. [applause] where President Trump signed more laws cutting federal redtape than any president in american history, joe biden once to bury the American Economy under an avalanche of red tape like his own version of the green new deal. And here in Dairyland Power you deserve to know that joe biden and the radical left want to crush American Energy and American Energy jobs. They want to pass their quiet change agenda, cap and trade that would cost, that would raise the cost of electricity for nearly every household andbusiness. Resident from his heart unleashed American Energy and all of the above energy strategy. As we stand here today the United States is now a net exporter of energy for the first time in 70 years. We are energy independent. [applause] when it comes to free and fair trade in the heartland, we all remember over in the Hoosier State after nafta was signed into law back in 1995, we saw entire communities shuttered and literally in the year since 60,000 factories close. Across the United States and many of those jobs moved south of the border and overseas. But i saw this president work to keep promises he made to the people of wisconsin. He said we could do better than that. We can fight for the free and fair trade put american jobs and workers first. He drove a hard bargain. And im here to tell you the us mca is a win or wisconsin workers and a win for wisconsin farmers. [applause] under the usmexico canada agreement, now canada is also any unfair treatment of our Dairy Farmers. So important here in wisconsin read the us mca is expected to increase our dairy exports by more than 300 million in the nextyear. At a win for wisconsin. The experts also tell us the usda overall will create 600,000 new job just right out of the gate including thousand manufacturing jobs. I heard joe bidens running mate is in milwaukee today. The Dairy Farmers of wisconsin deserve to know that senator Kamala Harris is one of only 10 senators to vote against the us mca. She said it didnt go far enough on climate change. And here at Dairyland Power, you deserve to know senator harris put their radical environmental agenda ahead of wisconsin gary and i had of wisconsin power under President Donald Trump, we will always put wisconsin farmers, wisconsin businesses and wisconsinfamilies first. [applause] thanks to President Trump leadership, nafta yesterday and the us mca is here to stay. Beyond trade with our neighbors, this president also stoodstrong. Stood strong with regard to china from day one. President trump made it clear that the era of economic surrender is over. When we took office, literally half of our International Trade deficit was with china. President trump acted. We imposed strong tariffson china and took action to end the steel dumping. I was hollowing out are still industry and manufacturing in this country and every single day continued to stand firm, demanding that china, demanding china open uptheir markets. Respect american primacy and play by international rules. Joe biden, hes been a cheerleader forcommunist china. He actually wants to repeal all the parents that are leveling the Playing Field for American Workers and recently he criticized residents of for suspending all travel to china at the outset of the pandemic. So ill make you a promise. The other side wants to say or do, President Donald Trump and i are going to keep sending strong American Workers american jobs until china comes to the table, lowers trade barriers, respect american property levels the Playing Field. [applause] because when the Playing Field is level American Workers and companies and when against any workers anywhere in the world. [applause] and finally on this labor day as we think about the cost of labor, its one of the reasons why President Trump has made record investments in border security. As we stand here today, this president has already overseen the construction of 300 miles of a border wall on our southern border and weve been enforcing immigration laws all across america. The truth is that illegal immigration drives wages down. People know that you one of the reasons in wisconsin the concern that job i is for open borders and sanctuary city, free healthcare for Illegal Immigrants will continue to bring lowcost labor into our season accounts, undermining the wages of American Workers. And in addition to enforcing our immigration laws, for the conviction that a nation without borders is nota nation , President Trump has also launched what we call a pledge to americas workers. Encouraging businesses in every field to expand training opportunities for American Workers and has already led to 16 million training and practice opportunities for American Workers all across the country. Thats why we call that future risk. So we stood strong. We stood strong for a safer, more prosperous america. We stood firm. Make sure that those that are meeting the needs of families that are challenged in the midst of this and have the support and resources, have the care that everyone of us would want. We stood up for our values. Stood up for American Family on this labor day, American Workers and the confidence that you have a champion in President Donald Trump. President donald trump i can tell you firsthand having served with him every day over the last three and half years, hes the real deal. A man who says what he means and means what he says. Never backs down. I can tell you is never stopped fighting. For the working people of wisconsin. But for all that we accomplish in those first three years, or always gone to see our mission through this time as americas begun to stand up again and go back to work and go back to school , thats just what President Trump calls a good start andi promise you , i promise you were never going to stop fighting or working people all across wisconsin all across america until we bring this state and this nation back bigger and better than ever before. [applause] so thank you for the warmreception today. And im very thankful is not that warm. Its a Beautiful Day in wisconsin, good to be withall of you. More importantly for what all of the hardworking families gathered here and those that might be looking on due for this country every day. President so and i believe all of this work is honorable. And its really been the people that make things and grow things, who work with their hands in the sweat of their brow in the factory that make this country what it is today. Its then the hardware of working americans, men and women like all of you here. People believe in faith, family is and hard work. People who believe in the American Dream as always and will always back us up. So on this labor day 2020 i encourage you to keep pressing on. Finally have faith. Have faith in the strength and resilience of the American People and the ability of hardworking americans to see our nation through this challenging time come all the way back and then some. And have faith that even in these challenging times those ancient words that americans have clung to throughout the generations are still true today. They are above the mantle in our home. There is a for more than 20 years. From the book of jeremiah, chapter 29 11. Have faith as you said. I know the plans i have for you. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. The future belongs to america and to hardworking americans. And our hope is in him, in this one nation under god with liberty and justice for all. [applause] so with faith in all of you and faith in him, i leave here today with renewed confidence will make wisconsin and america stronger and more prosperous than ever before. With President Donald Trump in the white house, with great leaders like senator ron johnson starting wisconsin, and maybe future leaders like derek van orton, finding his way into public life. [applause] with your continued support and with gods help, on this labor day i just know we are going to make America Great again, again. If you are very much. God bless you. God bless wisconsin, and god bless america. Happy labor day. [applause] we are live at a House Financial Services subcommittee hearing to hear from federal financial regulators. They are expected to testify on the impact of regulations on diversity and minorities. This was expected to start at noon eastern looks like theyre running a little bit behind. This is live coverage on cspan2. At the widest yesterday on that labor day talking about a variety of issues, matters of the military coming up before its headline reads as such the present with the u. S. Military leaders but insists soldiers love him. You can see the whole event at cspan. Org but heres a portion from yesterday. Biden shipped away our jobs come through open our borders and said to her youth to fight in these crazily and could praise in his words as one the reasons the military, the military is not in love with me, the soldiers are. The top people in the pentagon probably are not because they want to do nothing but fight wars so that all of those Wonderful Companies that make the bombs and make the plate and make Everything Else stay happy. But were getting out of the endless wars. You know how we are doing. We defeated 100 of the isis caliphate, when had a . When i was in come when i came in it was a mess, it was over. They had it in a certain color, isis. A year later, i said what is it . Its all gone, sir. Because of you its all gone. Because of my philosophy. Its all gone. I said thats good, lets bring our soldiers back home. Again is President Trump from yesterday. While he was in harrisburg, pennsylvania, it was joe biden during a stop at the aflcio participating in an online debate with its leader and members of that union. The topic of the military coming up so heres joe biden from yesterday. As out of touch as trumps language on the economy is, when it comes to veterans, he is downright unamerican. Ive never said that about a president ever, ever, ever but calling those who served come risk the life can even gave their lives to our nation, losers and suckers, these are heroes. Ill tell you something, my son wasnt a loser or a sucker. He spent six months in kosovo as assistant u. S. Attorney trying to make sure that they had a criminal justice system. Hes the only foreigner who has a 12foot statue erected to him, a memorial to him because of what he did in kosovo. Then he volunteered come he was attorney general who had get special permission to volunteer to go to these units tire rack for one solid year. When the bronze star, secret service, other awards come he didnt serve with losers and suckers. He served with heroes. He served with american patriots. And none of the veterans you know where losers or suckers. No president has ever talked about our servicemen and women in that way, and im sorry if im cutting close to losing my temper, the simple truth is, if thats how you talk about our veterans, you have no business being president of the United States of america. So there were two topics of military related to concern. We are military issues over all, about who your choice would be endless bid on these type of the ship if youre active and retired military a recent story in the usa today takes a look at the differences of stolid issues when it comes to matters the military this is Tom Vanden Brook saint expert on the policy anticipate depend on who wins the election would be differences in that style and substance. While pentagon policies under the future trump or Biden Administration would likely divert and social issues like transgender troops were many military bases after confederate generals it would likely coalesce around the top challenge facing the United States china. This story adding the guiding sort of the pentagon since 22 has been the National Defense strategy formulated by former defense secretary matters that it defies china as americas principal at the circuit at selected to carry over to the next administration the matter whos in charge. More of those differences and the story will highlight for you but to call story off when it comes to military matters and to his bid on these issues, leesburg virginia start us off. Tom, a support of the joe biden. We are about to go live
