Observers with the plot to change america with host of the podcast in america following the conversation we would do a q a session so at any point during the program please submit that in the questions spot on question box. We would answer as many as we can by the way. And before we get to that discussion want to introduce a special guest mrs. James the floor is yours. I am so excited to welcome you to the Heritage Foundation and the virtual book launch and thank you all but especially michael for joining us today we are so honored to have you with us. With the time in the research he has put into this tremendous book and not afraid to go look to and does it because he is a true patriot and not to go down any further down the treacherous road only in the sixties as we are struggling to desegregate and then to bring races together and ensure to live up to its liberty and justice and equal treatment for all people and to have their first black president but the highest ranks of American Business and government and yet our young people are coming out believing that grievance politics and identity politics is the road to justice and equality. Bringing ass right to a place where that time in our history where we had never been more disrupted. This book couldnt be any more timely with the rise of the distraction of monuments they need to wake up to the insidious nests of identity politics and need to understand how a place in children and grandchildren if we allow it to continue. We cant let that happen and we wont let that happen. We are all looking forward to the conversation. It is an honor to be here at the Heritage Foundation all the virtual that such a pleasure to be joined to talk about the plot to change america. And if we see roving bands of anarchist tearing down the statues using the rhetoric of identity politics if you hire a group of people as a Marketing Tool because we see that played out in real time. I am very happy my book is doing well and my ideas are getting out but not for the reasons why. Everything we have seen today found the anarchy in portland to the project and little did i knew when i was writing a year ago and what i call the summer of eight and a consequence. Its funny because you trace that back to the sixties with the summer of love. And that has led to the summer of hate. There was one moment early on in the book that was a little surprising to me that when people think of identity politics with Political Correctness and intersection led a lot of people consider that to be the side issue in politics to get down to talk about the budget or foreignpolicy but what you say is something more specific and damning you say identity Politics International hardware . What do you mean . It is the software of our culture. We are becoming divided with race and ethnicity and Sexual Orientation and gender and disability status and with rewards. From the moment your daughters principle and then to high school and does a wonderful job but to instill the grievance of the installation is at the heart of this and needs to work that way. And the University Campuses have been taken over. Hr tells people to put a sign on the desk that says i am the ally. And then it is a jugular issue. And as you can see from my sicilian heritage that i would not qualify and the privilege of being oppressed. And then to siphon off a group of people to call them minorities to do this in the 19 twenties with a huge number of meetings and those from Eastern Europe and then can buy one can be identified and then to siphon them off as minorities that we choose not to we choose to say all the immigrants coming in to join the melting pot and in the 19 forties was social scientist with the victimhood of discrimination that the term minority as we know it today is first defined in websters with the association of victimhood. We divide these people and to minority groups to say that the country is systemically racist so we must change all the institutions and structures. You mention the social scientist and institutions identity politics has been developed from the grassroots and coming toward a consciousness and to demand their rights and at the face of oppression and those pushing identity politics. Used to the origins are different and much more specific with a small group of people. Not at all i grassroots effort. And those that promoted this and universities and the researchers and then to combat with horrible news for the activist of mexican americans did not feel they were minorities and then to face discrimination that they did then to solve their own problems on the individual level and then to overcome their problems. This was very bad news for the ucla researchers. And then to create identities and those two groups with the mexican and american and Legal Defense fund and then they began to support and behind all this with the hegemonic narrative and then to you and me what is the American Dream that we are not a perfect country by any means but what we can do by using our ideals. That what we see play over again and again and again. The most famous philosophers marx philosopher ever even more than marx himself. With critical theory those that are openly describing themselves as a trained marxist as leaders of the blm organization. And that seems to be those that are communist. And then to stop the brain working and only succeeding in one place that all of the revolutions have failed there is now italian soviet and then it failed in italy and he begins to say the reason is with that oppressor class and economic system
