Coming they have become well acquainted with each other and to appreciate his service and the accessibility especially during this pandemic and his retirement is well earned and as a member of the Armed Services committee i serve on the jurisdiction it is a rare occasion i complement thes court it is the epitome of cumbersome bureaucracy im not unique and my frustration criticism is bipartisan and tangible each of us expressed frustration doesnt do what its supposed to do or wide its not supposed to do Major General spellmans nomination throughout this process working closely on numerous issues on other western states regarding the snake creek embankment that will move forward to supply those irrigation needs and is overly complicated with the realities of Rural America and to promise to take a fresh look at the economic look at the project and then added to the legislation we unanimously advanced and then working with me to help solve it. And that has plagued western states and that doctrine. And needlessly insert that extra bureaucracy but general spellman provided thorough honest responses and moving forward and even within the organization and improve and he is willing to listen and i think him for that. Im confident general spellman will listen to provide the necessary and pursuant to congressional intent for the nations constitution. The senator from oregon. Our country will celebrate memorial day. A special day that we as americans set aside each year to honor the members of the military who sacrificed to their country. This is typically the time getting ready a to travel home to Southern Oregon to eagle point and Central Point a Wonderful Community to spend the day with hundreds of veterans and members of the family these are events that take place each year and are inspiring and basically a time when oregonians are approaching almost a 100 year goal of the lineage of patriot willing to serve and sacrifice for our great nation there are other communities that come together and at home and over again we have always said eagle point in Central Point is the Gold Standard of services and programs to recognize veterans that made the ultimate sacrifice to the nation and i think we all know this memorial day will be different there will not be the same be gathering or as many parades but one reason to come before the senate today and i will be home this weekend thinking of eagle point and to make sure our country never diminishes the significance of this day. Never shared the country take away the determination to honor those who paid the ultimate price action and cause us to forget memorial day can be hard, very very hard of parents and spouses and children and friends i know when i am recognized and then to look out in the crowd with the kleenex by their eye as family members and at the same time the inevitable grief and this memorial day i will be thinking that come year after year to Central Point and eagle point in Southern Oregon to do something very important. To speak of the importance and the appreciation we have for those that make the ultimate sacrifice. And thinking about it with those fallen servicemembers a little bit differently than before. But in the senate mr.
