Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Nixon Library welcome to this replica of the east room. I am Christopher Nixon cox, a board member at the nixon foundation, as well as the grandson of the 30 seventh president , Richard Nixon. [applause] it is my honor and pleasure to have you at the library today and happy to welcome you to the library. I see a lot of new faces in the crowd which makes me excited and i see a lot of young faces in the crowd, a lot of young conservatives. So that is great to see and i encourage all of you to walk around the library, one of my Favorite Places for obvious reasons, the birthplace is beautiful, a lot of new stuff to see and if you come back you can visit the archives and do a little research, so much to do here. Today we begin our program by honoring our nation as we always do. Welcome our special guest, charlie kirk. [applause] ladies and gentlemen, please remain standing for the presentation of colors and the singing of the national anthem. Oh say can you see by the dawns early light what so proudly we hailed at the twilights last gleaming whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight over the ramparts we watched where so gallantly streaming and the rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there oh say does that starspangled banner yet wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave [applause] ladies and gentlemen, please give another round of applause to the junior rotc honor guard and the High School Jazz ensemble for that beautiful tribute to our nation. There are a few rare moments in life when you realize how old you are getting. I have been coming here for decades and this is the first time i will be introducing someone who is significantly younger than i am. This is a new experience for me. We are happy to have charlie kirk with us today. He is a Great American and a great thinker, author, political figure if i can call him that. It is an honor to have him here today. He is the founder of turning point usa, i am sure many of you are aware of it. I would call it the preeminent Educational Organization for our children today, teaching children the values that made the United States great. [applause] that is what is needed on our campus today, not just at the College Level but the High School Level and Elementary School level. That is the greatest danger to our country, what is happening in our School System and we need the voice of someone like charlie kirk to show kids that there is another option than what is being taught in schools and that option is the right way to support your country and that is what is so exciting, to see people get involved and teach our kids what is important about this conservative movement and that is why it is great to have charlie here today but i have to say when turning point was founded in 2012 i was at the convention with charlie kirk and i remember foster freeze said come to this meeting. I am interested in funding this organization, charlie kirk, turning point usa. That shows why foster freeze is a successful billionaire and im where i am. He made a good decision to back charlie. We are excited to have charlie here, he will talk about his book, the maga doctrine the only ideas that will win the future, which is a great defense of Donald Trumps record of growing jobs, keeping the United States safe, donald trump will be known as a Great Peacemaker around the world, great defense of that but not just a defense, the book is forwardlooking, how the United States and people in the United States can defeat socialism that is growing too strong in the United States. [applause] but this is what i admire most about charlie, not just policy prescriptions, he weaves philosophy into this, he talks about edmund burke, one of my grandfathers favorite authors and my Favorite Book the conservative mind. He compares Kathy Griffin to the elites in rome who murdered cicero. This is heady stuff. That is a wonderful part of his book. On a personal level i was very drawn to parts of the book to talk about how donald trump is broken the stalemate between republican and democratic parties in washington, has taken a sledgehammer to the elites that ran washington from both parties. And the reason, i feel my grandfather did the same thing in the 1970s but he didnt have allies like fox news and charlie kirk to defend him from what he was doing to the elites in the 1970s so that is why i am so honored and happy to welcome charlie kirk here today. I cant wait to see that, we are thrilled to have them at the Nixon Library. Thank you for coming. Hello, everybody. Thank you so much, quite an honor, thank you to the whole Leadership Team at the library. It is a long month this week. We started, crisscrossed the country a couple times, went from new york to dc, vero beach, florida, lynchburg, virginia, charlotte, phoenix, woke up in florida this morning and here we are. We got a country to save and we got to act like it. It has been amazing, thank you. I want to thank you for getting your copies of the book. It is still number one on amazon which is amazing. We are very pleased by that, very honored, overwhelmed honestly by the response. I want to dive into what is in here and what is important and what the media is missing about donald trump, what they are missing about why he is doing what he is doing. For those who dont know iran turning point usa, the nations largest conservative student organization, 2000 ice College Campuses across the country. Thank you. Fighting for american exceptionalism, the constitution, it is not always easy. We play with a sense of urgency to win americas culture war. The philosophy is the left has been winning too much for the last 40 years and we are going to go where conservatives have been losing the last couple decades and making sizable gains, you see that with what we have done on campuses and longterm one of the most important legacies, when you start to see real sizable change. I was so blown away by the success of the Trump Presidency. Important to recount those, and equally anxious, i dont want to see the Republican Party go back, to be government management, appeasement of the enemies, endless wars overseas silly immigration policies and bowing down to china and i think donald trump has positively recalibrated the Republican Party for generations. It is important to learn from it but our generation continues the success of the Trump Administration for the better. I wrote this book partly for that reason but most importantly as i was watching cable news and reading the newspapers i kept coming across these leftwing prognosticators and pundits telling me what donald trump believes was i said to myself you hate him, you hate all of us. Im going to listen to you . Donald trump is doing this because he wants to enriches businesses or has no guiding philosophy law, and unguided missile, shooting up tweets in the middle of the night and i said to myself i spent time with him, spend time with the first family. I have seen what he has been able to deliver for the country. Why is no one articulating what the doctrine of the Trump Presidency is. You dont just stumble accidentally into neil gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, largest tax cut in American History, and latino unemployment, energy independence. Soleimani and baghdadi are dead. The iran deal is canceled, the paris climate record, finally we have been able to put our enemies, produce shale and oil, not an accident. If you dont stumble into that, if it was every other president of both parties would have had a track record of success. When i was traveling the country talking to many people a common question i would get is what have these people been doing the last 20 years, looks like hes running circles around conventional wisdom so that is where i went to write the book, who did you interview . I talked to the president but i went to rally after rally of people who would wait hundreds of hours for a chance to see the president of the United States speak for 30 minutes was i went to a kickoff rally in florida where people spent 200 hours through tsunami like conditions and went to minnesota where people waited outside in smart back negative 10 degree weather, that is not normal, theres no band, its not bon jovi, there is no comedian, sometimes there is a comedian with the president but he is so much funnier than the latenight comedians ever will be. You ever notice seriously. You ever notice latenight comedy shows they are applauding an audience, not laughing because they are not funny. It is like a political talk show at 11 00 at night and i said to myself what is it that drives these people to wait so long at these rallies to take days off of work, to feel they are part of something. It goes back to something in the federalist papers, citizen government, people feel there is a vessel that listened to them. And you wouldnt have been able to write this in the novel, it took a millionaire businessman who is supposed to be as disconnected as anyone from you to represent you in the kingdom of washington dc. From the moment he came down the escalator he changed american politics fundamentally for good. When you go to one of these rallies, here was the consensus. I felt i was losing my country, felt like both parties were participating in it, the Republican Party talks a good game and did nothing to fix it and i was so sick and tired of politics as usual i wanted someone with a sledgehammer, a brooklyn brawler to go blow it all up and that is kind of special. I said it was kind of poetic and of course people say i dont like his tweets. Here is the best thing, america was founded in the middle of the ocean into the managed decline of both Political Parties for the last 20 years. It starts out, both parties contributed to this. Adventurism abroad when the country is crumbling and finally in the middle of the night when we are gasping for air a rescue helicopter brings us to life and able to breathe again and the first thing you say to the person that rescues us is i dont like your tweet history. It is completely and totally irrelevant, like the heart surgeon, finally thank you for the triple bypass surgery, hate your tweets but glad we are breathing again and not to mention i could make a argument the twitter feed actually sets the cadence, a public northstar for every Single Person to understand what the president is trying to accomplish and key people accountable for it. Additionally will hold a press conference, the media wont always covered that theres a real time standard and accountability measure for everyone to see what the president is thinking and doing. I think he is hilarious. I like a politician outside the Cocktail Party say one thing do another thing consensus in washington dc. I dont care if he offends a couple people, i like the fact that he punches back twice as hard because i feel our politicians havent been fighting for our country for the last couple decades and have been perfectly okay with this kind of managed decline. So i heard this and said that is the thesis of the Trump Presidency, heres the big picture doctrine. First and foremost when you go into the doctor and you say give me the bad news first, tell me everything going on that is bad and donald trump in his, he said our borders are wide open, our trade deals are stupid, china is laughing at us, our economy is ony, obama care is a disaster, the courts are compromised, the deep state is corrupt and this was in the first 30 seconds, first honest assessment our country had received in a very long time and that is the first part of his doctrine and philosophy, tell it straight to the american people, i will tell you, not going to sugarcoat it, not to you one thing when it is the other. The other is what ideas are rooted in the renewal of a nation and to understand the historical significance of what donald trump is done, is trying to do and getting opposition to do is trying to revitalize and resuscitate a country that was in that managed decline and it is so historically improbable to do what he is doing because when you have a superpower the likes of which, when you have 47, 50, 55 Million People on food stamps, hard to turn that around because people vote themselves benefit and the Founding Fathers warned us against this and one of the things that is one of the most amazing accomplishment of the Trump Presidency that never gets mentioned is 10 Million People are off of food stamps and donald trump got inaugurated. It is incredible. That is historic. For the first time in our countrys history, first time in modern american political history, we were able to turn that around and that is something that was the demise of the roman empire and many empires before when people could vote themselves stuff. Donald trump convinced people and convince the electorate there is not dignity in voting more benefits for yourself. How about create the greatest economy in American History, bring dignity back to forgotten america. He runs on this, the historical improbability is amazing because you see what is happening on the democrat side and you see this. Everyone kiss the ground and thank god donald trump defied the odds the way he did because sanders will get screwed out of this because the establishment doesnt want him to be the nominee. For good reasons maybe. Is a bolshevik, breadline advocate and castro sympathize. I hear he is a really nice guy. Joe bidens political strategy is the most perplexing and puzzling political strategy i have ever seen. Confuse your wife with your sister, dont know what state you are campaigning in, dont remember the name of barack obama, dont remember the preemptive the declaration of the constitution, tell people not to vote for you and call them pony face dog deliverers or whatever he said and finished fifth and sixth the first couple contests, basically meander into topics no one cares about, have rallies that are only a couple dozen people and eventually you will be the last person standing. It will go down as one of the most puzzling political strategies in American History and a lot of it was like Michael Bloombergs failure, the worst politician in American History, how that guy made 61 billion let alone ran a Board Meeting i dont know. Bloomberg reset the race and bloombergs failure allowed biden to be the economic or political equivalent of what a treasury bond is. What is the one thing i can put my money and that i dont care if it has no return, it is right there. I make the argument, this is a minority opinion, i would rather run against joe biden than bernie sanders, and authentic and free stuff. I dont want to validate a marxist ideology of ice level of the american political party, i would rather run against someone who is half socialist half not, and the most current Vice President in history which is joe biden, i would rather have that matter for the country and some people agree, some disagree but with the target audience i deal with senator sanders has more appeal than joe biden. You see the establishment rock on the left and the reason donald trump beats 16 republicans, beat the bush dynasty, the media complex, all the attempts to destabilize them. I was a ted cruz supporter and donald trump supporter, my understandable doubt that this guy was going to deliver for the conservative agenda. When he was the nominee it wasnt a question. I spoke at the convention, travel the country, donald trump junior, there is no choice, this is over, not even a conversation. I spent more time with donald trump junior, you deserve huge amount of credit. It took a lot of courage to have that. You started to see the fact he won the primary was a macbook, that he won the general is even more incredible. I talk in this book, the media ridicules me and im going to say it again because i love to bother them i believe it truly was a god thing that donald trump got elected president of the United States, i really do, i really do. I believe that it was nothing short of divine intervention that came down and allowed america to have a second chance. He gets elected, he gets inaugurated, 17 minutes after he gets inaugurated they say the case for impeaching donald trump now begins. Seriously. This is so important. I talk about it in the book. He very easily could have hedged. He could have become a vanilla republican to get them off his back. The Mueller Investigation was a hoax but when they were probing mueller i hope you understand this. It was a warning shot. They said stop it, mister trump, or we are going to come after you. Dont move the a busy, dont cancel the iran deal and we might not put all your friends in prison and might not investigate your son for a couple years and if you think i am over exaggerating i am from chicago, i know the way chicago mob politics work. That is the way they run washington dc. Donald trumps are with them encourage, im not going to be bullied into not doing what is best for the american people. He easily could have done whatever past republican president s refused to do which is not move the embassy to jerusalem, not recognized heights, not cut planned parenthood funding or the tax cut and it came to a head which an entire chapter on this which is so important which was the Justice Cavanagh fight, donald trump at very easily could have pulled the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. A lot of people would have said i get it. Instead donald trump is the first president a lot of your lifetimes, the first since Ronald Reagan to put the left on defense, push back against them where they are disoriented and confused, call this trump derangement syndrome, there is a lot of truth to that, you see that in the Brett Kavanaugh fight which was an important cultural moment since anita hill and especially the Supreme Court where fabricated accusation, elevated legitimacy by the media, had a Sterling Record that was the most boring person in history of maryland. The guy had his journals from high school, calendars to prove his innocence, unbelievable, they put him on, it is impressive, should have been a nomination 1000 vote that he had his journals from high school and his calendars. On june 18th, 1974, i was a car lapse house. Really amazed. Actually impressive. You deserve to be on the Supreme Court for that and nothing else. [applause] the gallivanting leftist, senator harris, senator coons, jeff flake who is part of the problem, i wrote the book in response to people like jeff flake. I names names in the book, not many but jeff flake, pathologically opposed to trump, voted for Brett Kavanaugh but gave him a hard time, elevated the worst aspect of the american left to the highest level, that circus when we had the absolute circus, donald trump did not waver an inch. He understands what the left is trying to do because he has been fighting the left in different forms and features his entire life. It didnt call itself the left but when donald trump tried to build trump tower in new york city and came across corrupt bureaucrats and democrats that is the left. When donald trump tried to build an ice skating rink that was delayed and delayed and delayed that was the left. He has a playbook for this. Almost as if he was chosen for a time like this because he is one of the few people outside of politics that has a track record of actually beating these sorts of tactics time and again. It takes a brooklyn street fighter sometimes to go after them. He wins the election, gets inaugurated and does something that confused everybody, he did what he said he was going to do. We are not used to that and a really bizarre thing where aides come into his office, a decision is coming up whether we want to renew nafta, strange decisionmaking process, what did i say i was going to do . That is what i am going to do. We are not used to this because both parties have never operated like this. We do one thing and do another, renegotiating nafta. That is worthy of a parade. Us mca is one of the most amazing trade accomplishment and it is not talked about, putting china on defense and getting a good trade deal, and a better trade deal with china. It is as if the Washington Cartel was fine with china getting limitlessly rich at your experience. The only politician with the guts to call them out. You look at the judicial victory, that alone, neil gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, also his indifference to care about what people before him did. A great example is the fight for life. The fight for the unborn. I really do. You look at donald trump and 20 years ago if you told me a guy who donated to planned parenthood, was a prior democrat, would be the most prolife president in American History, what are you talking about . He comes in every decision with an open mind, rationally and analytically looks at the evidence before me and his story of how he became prolife is very moving. He knew a woman i was contemplating abortion, she decided not have an abortion and for him that person would not exist if not for that abortion. The first president in American History to speak at the march for life. I am not here to bush but they did not speak at the march for life. They did not put planned parenthood funding, it went up steadily and that should really open people lies because this guy that is not supposed to be the socially conservative individual with justices, we have questionable justices on the Supreme Court but donald trump did this bizarre thing. I will tell you the list of people im going to nominate and picked from that list and a lot of people voted for donald trump based on that list because that is the third branch of government, Foreign Policy which i love because there is a bigotry of binary choices that happens in washington dc. I hope everyone learns from this advisor to your own life no matter what the situation is because here are the two consensus in washington dc. Option and we are going to be triggerhappy and invade a lot of countries in the middle east and try to nation build and try to impose our values through the region. Sounded good when we had a balanced budget and we believe we can bring liberty to the middle east. It is the consensus that we are not going to turn libya into louisiana any time soon. The consensus, we will send more of our prized possessions into this region of sand and death and spend hundreds of billions of dollars to democratize a region that is not ready for it and donald trump appended that immediately and said i dont like that. Neoconservative adventurous foreignpolicy doctrine. The Second School of thought is the opposite and equally we are going to pick the worst regimes in the region, send them billions of dollars of cash in the middle of the night, bow down to them, validate them and send them well wishes on towards a nuclear weapon, that is the other side of the extreme. Donald trump said that is silly. We are going to do targeted tactical and agile strength against americas enemies with disproportionate deterrent response. We are not going to have the endless bridge building war industry in afghanistan and in the region that puts our most prized possession, our young people where we have ptsd issues, veteran suicide issues, assimilation issues back into society, we are here to win wars, not try to democratize an entire region, we owe it to our veterans, to put them in a multidecade conflict with no end insight with what victory is not welldefined, donald trump says i am going to end these endless wars but if soleimani continues to go after american citizens i will take you out with a drone strike, 0 american citizens died going after soleimani. And liberating the generals on the ground. Isis was on the rise when Donald Trump Took Office and the destruction of isis, one of the most amazing accomplishments ended with minimal loss to American Life but liberating the generals to go after americas enemies on the ground which is incredible. Ending the war in afghanistan. We will see how that brokers out but we all agree 20 years it fatigues the american spirit be endlessly occupying a country does not want western values, not accepting western values, when we send 5 billion you to the Afghan Security forces we have hundreds of thousands of kids that cant read our priorities are backwards and donald trump recognizes that and wants to reset our priorities. I will summarize. I wrote this with a sense of urgency because i dont know if donald trump will get reelected. I think he should win in a landslide based on the successes but one thing i want all of you to dismiss from your vocabulary, i say this is tough love, he is not going to win in a landslide. Its not going to be easy. I hear this everywhere i go. Even some people in this room. It is closer than you think. Ive been to 44 states in the last year, talked to a lot of people, theres a misinformation campaign. I go to party after party where people think it is in the bag and planning the transition of the second term. I say president hillary clinton, president mitt romney, humble your self and get to work because this thing is not over. I hear this a lot, there is no way. There is a way. If google wants him to lose he is going to lose. Voter fraud, what goes on in the state alone gives me the blueprint for the rest of the country and they are sending the mischief in orange county, teaching them in milwaukee how to do that in the battleground, vote by mail, not to mention what the media is against him and i really believe the democrats are going to try to encourage and coach bad economic climate so they can defeat donald trump. Bill maher said he is hoping for a recession. I know he should win. He should win in a 1972 Richard Nixon landslide. He should. It is not going to happen. Whether hes going to win, whether he will in and a majority way, they will not be taken by surprise this time. Bloomberg will spend whatever he is going to spend, tech companies, i want to see an animated and engaged and worried conservative base, not a confident conservative base. You can be quietly certain what trump has done but you should be worried because they are working their tails off and i see it every single day and that is the sense of urgency i hope you leave with because a year from today he could not the president. I want you to realize that. It is conceivable, i give it a 5050 split right now that you could be here gathering and it could be president joe biden. I see a lot of people laughing but it could happen. That is why i operate with a sense of urgency i implore with all of you. I want to get to some questions. I am honored to be here, thanks so much. Thank you. We have time for a couple questions. The first one from one of our cadets, thank you for your presentation. What is your question . I am a highschooler. As highschooler is we dont have a lot of exposure or experience in politics. How do you suggest we maintain educated and more involved in modern new politics. If you do pursue a career in service you are to be commended so thank you for being here today. Appreciate that. There is tremendous resources out there. Dennis prager will be here tomorrow, a great resource i recommend. I think it is very helpful but be curious, be hungry, read the other side. It is true that in high school, it is not always taught, the way i wanted to be taught but i would pursue, i would encourage you to take five minutes a day, reading the news, make sure you read the right form of news, be curious, be openminded and passion will drive you and your patriotism should inform your politics. Thank you for being here, we appreciate it. One question i have, on College Campuses, used to have debate. What are you seeing on College Campuses . It is my day job. I wrote this book as a singular project. We have a machine at turning point usa, we are working very hard. Im the only conservative to speak at uc berkeley, i spoke all across the country, and on College Campuses, we recognize that. It is less about reform and more about rebellion. These are multibilliondollar cartels that dont care about the students going through their halls that are not interested in teaching students core american values. A couple thoughts on this. For highschoolers out there ask the question why am i going to school, not where am i going to school . You dont need to go to a 4year college to feed the country, you dont we need more plumbers, electricians, welders, police officers, firefighters and entrepreneurs. In my opinion far less people to go to the elite schools across the country that prognosticate and tell us how horrible and awful america is, a massive multibilliondollar window for people trained in the skills, that deficit needs to be filled by highschooler is. Parent start you off and i will give you some hard truths. More times than not it is about parent ego, you as a parent out there are not prepared, your friend, your Family Member or neighbor and look them in the eye and say mike it is not going to college and im okay with it is more about your ego than your kids future. I say that with compassion for your kids future, you see that at the university of california scandal. And what world is it okay to fabricate your kid was not involved in any of the competition, parents were doing that, not just one of things, we are talking a milliondollar industry where parents were fabricated records and doing moral and illegal things for kids to go to usc, what if your kids go to usc . I dont mean this as a way to insult anyone but i see these parents, my kid is an honor roll student. I would be embarrassed if my parents had a sticker, my kid is a good person. It doesnt resonate with me this hyper fixation on who can climb the academic ladder the quickest. It is important if you want to do certain things. If anybody wants to go the highest level i care more about your character and work ethic than what degree you got from some coastal institution. I want to thank you for being here. I feel like you are an ambassador for common sense and probably biblical prophecy too and congratulations on your book. My question as a Small Businessman i think one of the biggest shams we face especially in california, all these great ideas but they come with the cost and that cost to businesses and the general public, actually, probably considered immoral concealed, so speak a little bit about that and what it does to the economy and businessman. Entrepreneurs and Small Business before the backbone of the american economy. We should be proentrepreneur, it is a perfect case of how to destroy the american entrepreneur. It is protecting the corporate status quo but not empowering the little guy. For example you will see tons of people go to sacramento or washington dc saying we need more regulation for these reasons, big business, it is a rounding error for them. They can afford more lawyers, lobbyists and regulatory compliance. The small guy with 8 employees goes out of business. It protects the incumbent more than anything else. What i think donald trump has done is we have seen a rapid increase of Small Business startups across the country which is phenomenal and i think that sort of bottomup enterprise model is something we need to get back to our country, not Just Protection of the corporate status quo. There is a huge problem in our country because Small Business people cant find qualified waiver that they need and part of it is training but part of it is i talk to Small Business people all the time and they say people want to work for me but they dont have the skills because they got a degree in something that essentially they borrowed money they dont have to study things that dont matter to find jobs that dont exist and there is a huge market out there right now and i dont know what industry you are in in particular, a huge market for applicable jobs, and the big success of the Trump Presidency, dismiss and lie that manufacturing was always going to be dead. And theres multibilliondollar manufacturing in the country, we see a huge increase in manufacturing jobs since Donald Trump Took Office in the final point is this. I go back to the college argument and encourage everyone in this room to take this to heart which is we as a country treat people the go to college far more intelligent and wise than people that didnt go to college and the media propagandize is all of you through this. Im not at the college, im just antithe current system. If you want to be an engineer, lawyer, doctor, its for you. If you send your kid to college are going to play russian roulette with your values and they come back some of completely totally unrecognizable. Next question. Im a new member of the pat nixon republican women. Thank you for being here. I had a great pleasure of meeting anthony at the Republican NationalHispanic Assembly of california and it was so amazing to hear his story. I know hes been traveling the state working to gain the latino vote and confidence in the Republican Party and i think hes doing a great job and needs us all to support him here and also the africanamerican vote and some wondering what youve seen on the campuses and im the proud mother in law of an electric lineman up in sacramento so thats exciting. He is in the skilled trades. Want to put a plug in for those things because its amazing. Thank you. A couple thoughts on this and its important. Virginia was a deep red state until they allowed outofcontrol immigration policies into their state. Thats a big problem. I was a california youve seen it turn in the wrong directions last 20 or 30 years and so look heres the thing is that a toothache the latino vote can be one specifically over the life issue in particular, very prolific community and have been propagandized by the left and the democrats which is really unfortunate. And also i see something happening in the black community i really do. At turning point usa, she got her start which were very proud of. Very proud of her. Look, we really theres an ideological revolution happening in our country but we need to engage. I talked about this for President Trump should be a champion for School Choice. School choice is one of the most important issues in the entire country. Five words they could get President Trump are elected its School Choice for black kids i really believe that. I think School Choice is a massive issue. Charter schools allowing parents to choose better educational option. And look the black community has been so horribly treated by the Democrat Party over the last many decades, horribly treated especially since Lyndon Baines johnson. So telling the story and encouraging those former policies and a talk about the book President Trump has the lowest black unemployment rate, criminal justice reform, millions of people offered steps many of whom are in the black community. He did far more for the black community can president obama ever did far more. He gets very little to no credit from the media. Also its about reaching out showing up and i think theres something changing where conservatives republicans are more open to it than ever before but again thats part of what the maga doctrine is which is bringing dignity back to forgotten america is there are parts of a country that were just kind of cast aside by the ruling class elite and President Trumps done a a phenomenal jof turning that around. Im cautiously optimistic that we can make some big gains but it will have to be generational, it really is. Especially in the black community, republicans competed, republicans really went after the black church we could see huge, huge gains in those communities. Thanks so much for being here. Could you reassure us all and let us know that your political aspirations . Very kind of you. No, i love i love what i do at turning point usa. Look i had the opportunity to spend time with people that are running for reelection of something and i was going around here thats great for a lot of people. I love to help them run for office and all that but ill tell you i get so much fulfillment of what were doing at turning point. I can tell you that. We have seen the dial moved so much and people say you have to run for congress, run for no, its not its not in the cards for me at a think the culture war and the culture battles is far more important than that. And i think we see thank you and receive wiest have a great opportunity happening in our country will receive a lot of people rising up and a lot of new candidates that i love to support and get behind but im perfectly happy exactly where i am. I just wanted to introduce myself first before my question. Because if you listen to the immediate a will tell you people like myself dont exist. By that a im a christian and conservative College Professor at uci. [applause] and my question for you and an e im really passionate about is trying to figure out how to prevent School Shootings. I want to make our schools safer. Im curious if you have any suggestions on that. I have my own ideas and i love to talk to you about them but im curious about your the entire, whole discussion comes down to it you were a School Shooter would you go to school that had armed guards or not on the cards . This whole argument we shouldnt arm our entire possession. We guard our airports, armed guards with machine guns yet we dont protect her kids that way. Its silly and backwards. Its a much deeper cultural issue. If you look at the park when shooting there was a misdiagnosis and a complete failure at the federal bureau of investigations when you came to that lunatic that did that. The agenda is to take our guns away and we cant let that happen. We have to do everything we can to prevent the let them come after our constitutional liberties. It also think we have over medication problem with her kids. I think the pharmaceutical Companies Avoid too much power. We are pill pushing to kids and over medicating our kids and its causing all sorts of different problems. Were talking about chemically addictive substances that are really playing games to a lot of these kids and be very careful just give you an example. If i would be in school today they would have me so drugged up because seriously. They tried to give me everything because im a little bit type aa and was always pushing the boundaries. My parents to the great credit always pushed against that hes fine, hes fine, but i worry about how many people that could really change our country are now being fed the cocktail of drugs under these, hes restless piggies eight years old. What you expect, seriously . I think they are correlated to School Shootings of really believe that. I get a lot of garbage for that but i dont really care. Because its true. Also its a family issue that we have destroyed the Nuclear Family in our country and we have to rebuild the American Family we really do. [applause] id like to wrap it up with the q a. We get quite a few authors who come through and the cover of your book is one that interesting to me. Could you give us a bit of background . A couple things before mentioned that. I want to thank stacy who else is also nicely at turning point usa and my girlfriend erica who always travels the country with me. Incredible. And all the people that support turning point, jeff i see out there somewhere. Theres jeff and so will others. Rick terrific, thank you, guys. I love that come socialism kills. Do something about that. I i picked the cover of this bok for a reason. I wanted to find a visual image of the present that a think best summed up his doctrine and he treats our country as it its the child can something you care so much about that is willing to sacrifice everything for it. I was there when he did this last year cpac and a fighter embodied it so well we just comes out and hugs the flag. Thats the kind of protective instinct that he has for our country, that everything, every decision he makes is around trying to say i care about this, im willing to sacrifice for this. Going to put all online for this. They say a picture speaks 1000 words and i think it does in that sense, i do think the book articulates the also pretty well. Ladies and gentlemen, charlie kirk.
