Ladies and gentle men, welcome to the Nixon Library and welcome to this beautiful replica of the east room. I am Christopher Nixon cox, board member here at the Nixon Foundation as well as the grandson of the 37th president , Richard Nixon. [applause] it is really my honor and pleasure to have you here at the library today. I am so happy to welcome you to the library. I see a lot of new faces in the crowd today which makes me really excited and i see young faces and the crowd which means we have a lot of young conservatives. [cheering and applause] that is great to see and i really encourage all of you after the event today to walk around the library and it is one of my Favorite Places for obvious reasons but one of my Favorite Places in the world and i think the birth place is beautiful and we just have redone a lot of the exhibits in the library so a lot of new stuff to see and of course if you come back you can visit the archives and do research into my grandfathers presidency. There is so much to do here and am happy to have you here today. But of course tonight or today we will begin our program by honoring our nation as we always do but first will you please welcome our special guest today, charlie kirk. [cheering and applause] ladies and unspent, please remain standing for all who can stand for the presentation of colors and the singing of our national anthem. [cheering and applause] [background noises] ladies and gentlemen, please give another round of applause to the choi High School Navy junior rotc honor guard and the villa park Jazz Ensemble for that beautiful tribute to our nation. [applause] there are a few rare moments in life where you actually realize how old you are getting. Now, ive been coming here for decades actually and this is actually the first time i will be introducing someone who is significantly younger than i am. [laughter] this is a new experience for me and im excited about that. Of course, we are happy to have charlie kirk here with us tonight or today. Hes a Great American and a great thinker, author, political figure, if i can call him that too, its an honor to have them here today. He is the founder of turning point usa and im many of you are aware [cheering and applause] i would call it the preeminent, Educational Organization for our children today teaching children the values that made the United States great. [applause] and that is what is so needed on our campuses today, not just at the College Level but at the High School Level and at the Elementary School level and that is the greatest danger to our country is whats happening at our School System and we need the voice of people like charlie kirk out there to show kids how there is another option than what is being taught in schools and that option is the right way to live the life and to support your country and that is what is so exciting to see people get involved and teach our kids about what is important about the conservative movement and that is why its great to have charlie here today. But i have to say that when turning point was founded in 2012 i was at the convention with charlie kirk then and i remember foster said you should come to this meeting, i have this great meeting set up an interesting and funny this organization with charlie kirk, turning point usa, you should come with me and i said i have to do a couple other things and maybe i wont but that shows why hes a successful billionaire and where i am today because he made a good decision to back charlie but we are excited to have charlie here and he will talk about his book called the maga doctrine which not only is a great defense of President Trumps record, of growing jobs, keeping the United States and President Trump will be known as a Great Peacemaker around the world and is a great defense but its not just a defense but the book is forwardlooking in the book says how the United States and people in the United States can defeat socialism that is growing too strong here in the United States. [applause] but this is what i admire most about charlie, it is not just policy prescriptions. He weaves philosophy into this and he talks about edmund burke and makes references to edmund burke, one of my grandfathers favorite authors and of course, my favorite book, the conservative mind written by admin book. He also compares Kathy Griffin to the elites in rome who murdered cicero. My god, this is heavy stuff. [laughter] that is wonderful part of his book and then finally just on a personal level i was very drawn to the parts of the book the talk about how President Trump has broken the stalemate between thorough balkan and democratic parties in washington and has taken a sledgehammer to the elites that ran washington from both parties. [cheering and applause] and the reason why this is so personal to me is that i feel my grandfather did the same thing in the 1970s but he did not have allies like fox news and charlie kirk to defend him from what he was doing to the elites in the 1970s so that is why i am so honored and so happy to welcome charlie kirk here today because we need his voice and i cant wait to hear what he has to say today and we are thrilled to have them here at that Nixon Library. Thank you, charlie for coming. Hello everybody. Great to be here but thank you so much. Thank you, chris into the whole Leadership Team here at the library but its tremendous and its been, as i said earlier, a long month this week. We started or crisscross the country a couple of times and went to new york and dc, florida, birmingham, alabama, unix, back to a couple stops in florida and here we are. We got the country to save and we need to act like it. Its been amazing, thank you. [applause] i want to thank you for getting your copies of the book. It is still number one on amazon which is amazing. The entire world, were pleased by that and very honored. Overwhelmed, honestly, by the response of this book and i really want to dive into what it is here and whats important and what i think the media is missing about President Trump and what theyre missing about why he is doing what he is doing. For those who dont know i run turning point usa, nations largest conservative organization now on 2000 high school and College Campuses across the country. [cheering and applause] thank you, fighting for american exceptionalism, constitution and honestly, where it is not always easy but we say play offense and its an urgency to win americas culture war bred our whole philosophy is the left has been winning far too much over the last 40 years and we will go where conservatives have been losing the last couple of decades and making sizable gains. We been able to do that campuses and i think longterm that will be one the most important legacies at turning point usa when we see real sizable change in the next generation and that is part of why i wrote this book because i been so blown away by the success of the Trump Presidency and its important to recount those and to focus in on how hes been able to succeed but then also im equally anxious because i dont want to see their public party go back to Big Government management with endless wars overseas with immigration policies and bowing down to china. I think that President Trump has posited, positively recalibrated the Republican Party for generations. Its important to learn from it so our generation continues the success of the Trump Administration for the better in first and foremost i wrote this book partly for that reason of the important as i watched cable news i kept on coming across these leftwing prognosticators and pendants telling me what President Trump believes and i said you hate him. You hate us. You hate all of us and im supposed to listen to you and they are saying President Trump is doing this because he wants to enrich his businesses or President Trump has no guiding philosophies and unguided missile and shooting up tweets in the middle of the night and i said to myself first of all, ive spent time with him and i spent time with the first family ive seen what hes been able to deliver from our country so why is no one articulate in what the doctrine of the Trump Presidency is . You dont stumble accidentally into corset kavanaugh, largest tax cut in american economy, [inaudible] energy independence, generals are dead, Golan Heights are recognized, we are out of the paris, debord, ttp and we produce our own oil and thats not an accident. You dont stumble into that because if it was every other president in both parties wouldve had a track record of success. When i traveled the country talking to many people in this room a common question i would get his charlie, what have these people been doing the last 20 years . It looks like this guy is running circles around the conventional wisdom and so that is where i went out to go write the book. Who did you interview for this book and i did talk to the president and thats part in the book but also i want to rally after rally of people that would wait out of hundreds of hours for a chance to see the president of the United States speak for 30 minutes and i went to the kickoff rally in florida where people spent 200 hours outside through synonymy light conditions and i went to minnesota and where people waited out side in negative 10 degrees weather and i am sure all of you appreciate this but that is not normal. There is no ban and there is not bon jovi or beyonce and no comedian, well sometimes there is a comedian with the president but hes so much funnier than the latenight comedians ever will be. Have you ever notice that seriously. Have you ever noticed that latenight comedy shows they are applauding in the audience and they are not laughing because they are not funny. Its a political talk show at 11 00 oclock at night. Anyway, i said to myself and asked myself what is it that drives these people to wait so long at these rallies to take days off of work and to feel as if they are a part of something and then it hits me and goes back to something that was talked about in the federalist papers by our Founding Fathers which is citizen government. For the first time in many decades of people finally believe that there is a vessel that listens to them and that delivers or them in the great irony and the whole thing and he would not have been able to write this in a novel where people believe it is that it took us billionaire businessman who is supposed to be as disconnected as anyone from you to represent you in the kingdom of washington dc. From the moment he came down that escalator he changed american politics fundamentally or good because of when you go to these rallies and talk to these people here is the consensus. I felt like i was losing my country and i felt like both parties were participating in it and i felt like the reveille can party talked a good game but did nothing to fix it and i was so sick and tired of politics as usual and i wanted someone with the sledgehammer, a broken brawler to go blow it all up and that is special. In fact, i said it was poetic. Of course, people say i dont like his tweets and i dont like his i will address this one time in one time only but heres the best way i can address it is america was drowning in the middle of the ocean under the managed decline of both Political Parties over the last 20 years. [inaudible] both parties contributed to Big Government and travel abroad while our country was throttling but this man brought us up to life again and the first person that you say to rescue us i dont like your tweet history, no, we are breathing again. Its completely and totally irrelevant. Its like the heart surgeon thak you for the triple bypass surgery, by the way, hate your tweets but im glad were breathing again. Okay . Not to mention i could make a very argument that the twitter feed actually sets the cadence and is a public norstar for every Single Person to understand what the president is trying to compost and keep people accountable for it. Traditionally he would hold a press conference and the media doesnt cover it but now there is a realtime standard and realtime accountability measure for everyone to see exactly what the president is thinking and i think hes hilarious. I like a politician that is outside the cocktail party, say one thing, do another consensus in washington dc. I dont care if he offends a couple people here and there. I like the fact he punches back twice as hard because i feel as if our politicians have not been fighting for our country for the last couple decades that have been okay with this managed decline. When i heard this time again i said thats thesis of the Trump Presidency. First and foremost, when you go into the doctor and you say give me the bad news first, tell me everything that is going on that is bad and President Trump in his announcement address was brutal and said we are losing and he said our borders are wide open and our trade deals are stupid, china is laughing at us and our economy is anemic, obamacare is a disaster and the courts are compromised in the deep state is corrupt and this was in the first 30 seconds. And it was the first honest assessment i think our country had received in a very, very long time. That is the first part of his doctrine and philosophy is that i will tell it straight to the america people and i will not sugarcoat it, i will not tell you one thing when its the other and the second thing is what ideas are actually rooted in a renewal of a nation. To understand the historical significance of what President Trump has done and what he is trying to do and what hes getting opposition to do is revitalizing or resuscitating a country that was in that managed decline and its so historically improbable to do what he is doing because when you have a superpower the likes of which america when you 4755000000 people on food stamps thats hard to turn that around because people will vote themselves benefits and the Founding Fathers warned us against this. One of the things that i think is one of the most amazing compliments that Trump Presidency that never gets mentioned is 10 Million People are now off food stamps since President Trump got inaugurated but its incredible. [laughter] [cheering and applause] for the first time in our countrys history i should not say the first time in but in modern american political history we turn that around and that is something that was the demise of the roman empire and many other empires before it when people could vote themselves stuff but President Trump convinced people and convinced the electorate there is not dignity and just voting of more benefits to yourself. How about creating the greatest economy in American History and how about we bring dignity back to forgotten america. Then he runs on this and the historical improbability is so amazing because you see what is happening on the democrat side and right now you see it should make everyone kiss the ground and thank god President Trump was able to divide the odds he was because senator sanders will probably get screwed out of the sink because the astonishment doesnt want him to be the nominee. For good reasons, maybe. Hes a bolshevik, castro some of this but besides that hes i hear hes a nice guy but joe biden political strategy is the most perplexing and puzzling political strategy ive ever seen. Confuse your wife with your sister, dont know what state youre campaigning in, dont remember the name of barack obama, dont remove or the preamble to the decoration or the constitution and tell people not to vote for you and then call them pony faced dog soldiers or whatever he said. It is fifth or sixth in the first couple contests but then it meanders into topics that no one cares about, have rallies that only have a couple people and then eventually youll be standing itll go down as the most puzzling American History and because of Mike Bloomberg failure to essentially is the worst politician in america history. How that guide made a six and 1 million let alone ran a board meeting, i dont know. Essentially bloomberg reset the race and bloombergs failure allowed biden to be essentially the economic equivalent or political equivalent of what a treasury bond is, essentially a flight to safety. What is the one thing i could put my money in that i dont care if it has no return but its right there and those of you its like who is the joe biden, got it. And so i make the argument for those that support President Trump and this is a minority opinion but i much rather run against joe biden then bernie sanders. Id much rather run up against a corrupt and confused then authentic and free stuff and i dont want to validate and i dont want to elevate a sinister marxist ideology at the highest level of american palooka party. I would much rather run up against someone who is half socialist, have not been completely and totally corrupt and the most corrupt Vice President in American History would be joe biden but i would much rather have that match up for our country and some people agree, some people disagree but definitely with the target audience i deal with senator sanders has much more appeal and joe biden. I will fill that out but if you see whats happening there and you see the establishment rot on the left and the fact the President Trump was able to defeat 16 republicans, beat the bush dynasty, beat the moody complex, beat all the attempts to destabilize him and they talk about this in my book. I was a governor walker, senator cruz and then trump and then in that order but i had my doubts whether he would deliver the conservative agenda. Once he was a nominee, it wasnt a question but i put everything on the line and said there is no choice. Its over. Its not even a conversation but from the moment that i spent more time with donald trump junior and with erica trump and those were date one trump supporters, you should get a lot of credit, it took courage to do that. You started to see the fact that he won the primary was remarkable in fact he won the general was even more incredible and i talk about in this book an immediate ridicules me i will say it again because i love to bother them, i believe it truly was a god thing that donald trump got elected president of the United States. I truly do. [cheering and applause] i believe that it was nothing short of divine intervention and that came down and allowed america to have a second chance. He gets elected and gets inaugurated at 17 minutes after he gets inaugurated they say the case for impeaching donald trump now begins. Seriously. This is so important. I talk about it in this book because i dont talk about enough but hes easily could have hedged and he very easily could have become a vanilla republican to try to get them off his back and the molar investigation was a hoax but when they were probing mueller and i hope you all understand this, it was a warning shot. They said stop it, mr. Trump, or we will come after you. Dont move the embassy, dont cancel the iran deal and then maybe we might not put all your friends in prison and then maybe we might not investigate your son for a couple of years but if you think im over exaggerating im from chicago and i know the way the chicago mob politics work. That is how they run washington dc. President trump, to his heroism and courage, said i will not be bullied into not doing what is best for the american people. He very easily could have done what other past republican president s refused to do which was not move the embassy to jerusalem or not reckon eyes heights are not cut planned parenthood funding or knocks that it all came to a big head which was something that bothered them more in an entire chapter on this which is so important which was the Justice Kavanaugh fights. President donald trump very easily could uphold the nomination to Justice Kavanaugh and a lot of people wouldve said i get it but instead President Donald Trump is the first president in a lot of your lifetimes, first president since ronald reagan, to put the left on defense and to push back against them for their disoriented and confused and called this the trump derangement syndrome and theres a lot of truth to that. You saw that in the Justice Kavanaugh fight which was when the most important cultural moments i think since anita hill or even sense especially on the Supreme Court where you have fabricated accusations that were elevated to legitimacy by the media, i meant that had a Sterling Record that was one of most boring person in history of maryland. The guy literally had his journals from high school. His calendars to prove his innocence. It was unbelievable and they put him on and i dont even know its impressive. It should have been an nomination 100nothing about but still had his journals from high school and his calendar but no, no, june 18, 1974 i was at carls house. Like really amazing. [laughter] its impressive. You deserve to be on the Supreme Court for that and nothing else. [applause] and then the gallivanting leftist apparatus, senator harris, senator coons, jeff flake who is part of the problem, i wrote the book in response to people like jeff flake and i dos name some names in the book but jeff flake who is pathologically opposed to trump and ended up doing the right thing and voted for kavanaugh but gave him such a hard time but elevated the worst left where we had the circus and his absolute circus and President Trump did not waver an inch. He understands what the left is trying to do because hes been fighting the left in different forms and features his entire life. The left does not call itself the left but when President Trump tried to build trump tower in new york city and came up across corrupt bureaucrats and democrats that is the left, when President Trump tried to build build rink, ice skating rink that was delayed and delayed and delayed that was the left and so he has a playbook for this. Its almost as if he was chosen for a time like this because hes one of the few people outside politics that has a track record of beating these tactics time and time again. It takes the brooklyn street fighter sometimes to go after them. He wins the election and gets inaugurated and do something that confused everybody that he did what he said he would do and he is were not used to that at all. In fact, its bizarre thing where the aides come into his office and said a decision is coming up whether or not we want to renew nafta and its strange Decision Making process called what did i say i was going to do and that is what i am going to do. We are not used it to this by the way because both parties have never operated like this. We will do one thing and do another but renegotiating nafta, that alone is worthy of a parade. Usmca is one of the most amazing legislative trade compliments and its not talked about. Its put china on defense finally to give a really good trade deal them are getting a better trade deal if we get a second term we will get a better trade deal with china to continue to put them on defense but its out if the Washington Cartel was perfectly fine with china getting limitless rich at our expense and is the only politician with the guts to call them out and he look at the judicial victories and just that alone. Corsets, kavanaugh, 200 Circuit Court judges and that is it but its also his indifference to care about what people before him did. A great example, i think one of most import fights is the fight for life. I really do. The fight for the unborn. I really do. [applause] you look at President Trump and watson, 20 years ago, if you had told me that a guy that donated to planned parenthood was on the cover of a Playboy Magazine and prior democrats would be the most prolife president in American History i would have said what are you talking about . Yes, he comes at every decision with an open mind and rationally and analytically looks at it says look at the evidence before me in a story of how he became prolife is very moving. He knew a woman was contemplating abortion and she decided not to have an abortion and saw this kid rides into a total superstar. For him that was that person would not exist if it would have been for that abortion. What does he do . Hes the first president in American History to speak at the march for life. Thats amazing, not [applause] again im not here to bush bash but they did not speak at the march for life and they didnt. They did not cut planned parenthood funding funding. It went up steadily. That should open peoples eyes because this guy that is not supposed to be the socialist conservative individual fort justices. Again, we have questionable justices on the Supreme Court but President Trump did this bizarre thing and im going to tell you the list of people im going to nominate and guess what he picks from that list. And a lot of people voted for President Trump based on that list. A lot of people because thats the third branch of government and does not always get the appreciation and Foreign Policy which i love, there is this bigotry of binary choices that happen in washington dc. I hope everyone in this room learns from this and applies it to your own life. No matter what the situation is because here is the to consensus in washington dc. Option a we are going to be triggerhappy and invade a lot of Different Countries in the middle east and try to nation build and impose our values all throughout the region. Sounded good 20 years ago when we had a balanced budget and we really believed we could bring liberty to the middle east. I think its put in much the consensus we are not going to turn libya into louisiana anytime soon. Right . The consensus was we will send more of her most prized possessions into this region and continue to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to try to democratize a region that is not ready for it. President trump offended that immediately and said i dont like that and thats essentially the neoconservative adventurers to foreignpolicy doctrine and the Second School of thought is the exact opposite and equally as bad which is we will pick the worst regimes in the region and send them billions of dollars of cash in the middle of the night and bow down to them, validate them and send them well wishes onward towards a nuclear weapon. That is the other side of the extreme so President Trump said thats silly and that is silly so here is what we will do. Targeted, tactical and agile strikes against americas enemies with disproportionate deterrent Response Rate number one. Number two we will not have the endless bridge building war industry in afghanistan and in the region that puts our most prized possession and our young people where we have ptsd issues, we have veteran suicide issues, we have assimilation issues of our veterans back into society and he said enough. He said we are here to win wars, not try to democratize entire regions. We owe it better to our veterans and to put them in a multi decade conflict with no end in sight with watch victory is not well defined. What does he do . He says i will end these endless wars but if general sold money goes after american citizens i will take you out with a drone strike. Zero americans died going after the general. [applause] liberating the generals on the ground. Isis was on the rise of President Trump when he took office and the destruction of vices, one of the greatest most amazing a compliments and he did it with minimal license, minimal loss to American Life but liberty the generals to be able to go after american enemies on the ground which is incredible. Ending the war in afghanistan and we will see how that all brokers out but i think we all agree that 20 years it fatigues the american spirit to be endlessly occupying a country that does not want western values and does not accept western values and when we send 5 billion a year just the afghan secured he forces and we have hundreds of thousands of kids in our inner cities that cant read i think our priorities are backwards but President Trump recognizes that wants to reset our priorities to bring dignity back to america. [applause] i will summarize and i want to get two questions. I wrote this with a sense of urgency because i do or dont know if President Trump will get reelected. I think he should win in a landslide based on the successes but one thing i want all of you to dismiss from your vocabulary and i say this as tough love that hes not going to win in a landslide. Its not going to be easy. I hear this everywhere i go folks and even some people in this room. It is closer than you think. Ive been to 44 states in the last year and i talked to a lot of people on the grounds. There is a Misinformation Campaign against this president and there is a lot of work left to do. I go to party after party were people thing is already in the bag and there planning the transition of his second term and i say okay, president hillary clinton. Right . Okay president rich mitt romney. Humble yourself and get to work because this thing is not over and i hear this a lot, theres no way but there is a way folks print if google wants them to lose he will lose. Okay . Voter fraud but my goodness but what goes on in the state alone could be the blueprint for the rest of this country but by the way, they are sending their most mischievous, the mischief that goes on here in Orange County they are teaching him in milwaukee how to do that same thing in the battleground state. Vote by mail, not to mention what the media will be against him, not to mention i really believe the democrats will try to encourage and coach bad economic climate so they can defeat donald trump, bill marr said it as such that hes hoping for a recession. I know he should win but he should win in a 1972 Richard Nixon style landslide in 1984 ronald regan landslide. He should. But it will not happen. Whether he will win electorally in a majority way, i dont know. That remains to be seen but they will not be taken by surprise this time for it they will not be at bloomberg will spend whatever he will spend in the Tech Companies will do what they will do so i want to see them animated and engaged in a worried base, not a confident conservative base. You guys can be quietly certain of what trump is on but you should be worried because they are working their tails off folks. I see it everything will day. That is the sense of urgency i hope you all leave with because one year from today he could not be president i want you to realize that. It is conceivable and in fact, i give it a 5050 split right now. 5050. Its a coin flip. You could be your gathering and it can be president joe biden. [crowd boos] i see people laughing but it could happen. That is why we need to operate with a sense of urgency that i highly implore with all of you but i want to get to questions and im honored to be here. Thank you so much. [applause] thank you, charlie bird we do have time for a couple of questions. Our first one will come from one of our cadets that presented the colors but thank you for your presentation. Thank you. [applause] what is your question connect. Good afternoon, sir. Im ashley, highschooler from Troy High School and as High Schoolers we dont have a lot of exposure or experience in politics so how do you suggest that we can maintain educated and more involved in modern politics . Thank you for the question but if you do pursue a career in service you deserve to be commended big thank you for being here today. I really do appreciate that. [applause] look, there is tremendous resources out there. That is bigger will be here tomorrow and praeger you is a great resource i recommend but we are doing turning point usa is low productions and i think its helpful but be curious, be hungry, read the other side. It is true that in high school there is not always taught the way that we might want it to be taught but i would encourage you to take five minutes a day to try to carve out for politics whether reading the news, make sure you read the right form of news and that is all i will say with that but just be curious and be openminded and passionate. Your patriotism should inform your politics, never forget that. Thank you for being here today print we deeply appreciate it. [applause] one question and a lot of people very much wonder, on College Campuses used to have debate. What are you seeing right now on College Campuses . Look, this is my day job. I wrote this book as a singular project but what i really do is we have a machine a turning point usa, 106 people, 2000 High School College campuses across the country and working very hard and im the only conservative to speak at uc berkeley, stanford, ucla and once muster and lived to tell about it. [applause] i spoke all across the country and to be perfectly honest the grades that your country is what happened on College Campuses and we as conservatives need to recognize that and its less about reform and more about rebellion, to be perfectly honest. These are multibilliondollar cartels that dont care about the students going to their halls that are not interested in teaching students core american values. Couple thoughts, for highschoolers out there ask yourself the question why am i going to school . Not where. You do not need to go to a Fouryear College to succeed in our country. You do not need to go to a Fouryear College. We need more plumbers, police office, firefighters, entre nous, electricians, parlous people that go to the elite schools all across the country that prognosticate and tell us about how horrible and awful america is there is a mess of multimillion dollar window for people that are specifically trained in the skills, american base trained labor and that deficit needs to be filled by High Schoolers. Parents far too often push their kids into college and i will just give you hard truths here. Unfortunately, more time than not its about the parents ego, not the kids future. If you as a parent are not prepared to look at your friends, your Family Member or your neighbor and look them in the eye is a market is not going to college and im perfectly okay with it that its more about your ego than your kids future and i say that with love and compassion for your kids future because you see that in the university of Southern California and missions scandal in what world is it okay to fabricate that your kid was not involved in any of the competition but it was the parents that were doing this but were not talking oneoff things. A milliondollar industry where parents were fabricating records and doing immoral and illegal things so their kids could go to usc. So what if your kid goes to usc . I dont wean this as a way to insult anyone this might have but i see these parents that saint mike is an honor roll student and i say i would be embarrassed at my parents had a sticker. How about my kid is a good person . It doesnt resonate with me. This hyper fixation on who can climb the academic ladder the quickest. Its important if you want to do certain things and i hope Everyone Wants to go to the highest level but a carrot much more about your character and work ethic than what degree you got from some coastal institution. [applause] mr. Kirk, thank you for being here and i feel like you are an investor for common sense and probably biblical prophecy to and congratulations on your book. My question is as a Small Businessman i think that one of the biggest shams that we face especially in california is that there is all these great ideas but they come with a cost. Correct . That cost to businesses and to the general public is probably considered and morally concealed so speak a little bit about that and what it does to the economy and business world. Thank you for asking. Small business and entrepreneurs are the backbone of the american economy. We should be pro individual, profamily business and pro entrepreneur. California is the probe case that no one [inaudible] for example, as you will see tons of people go to sacramento or washington dc saint we need more regulation for these reasons but that business is a rounding error for them for it they can afford more lawyers and more lobbyists and more regulatory compliance. It is the small guy with eight employees that it puts them out of business. In fact, it protects the incumbents more than anything else. What i think President Trump has done so well as you seen a rapid increase in Small Business startups across the country which is phenomenal and i think that bottomup enterprise model is something that we need to get back to in our country, not just the production of the corporate status quo. Additionally, look, there is a huge problem in a country because Small Business people cant find qualified labor that they need and part of it is training but part of it is i talk to Small Business people all the time and they say there are people that want to come work for me but they dont have the skills because they got a degree in something that is essentially they borrow money they dont have to study things that dont matter to find jobs that dont exist. There is huge markets out there and i dont know what industry you are in in particular but there is a huge market right now for applicable jobs and one of the big Success Stories of the term presidency i talk about this was this myth and lie the manufactures was always going to be dead and President Trump proved empirically that there was a multibilliondollar manufacturing opening in our country and he filled it and filled it really well but we seen a huge increase in manufacturing jobs in President Trump since he took office in the final point is this which is i will go back to the college argument and i encourage everyone in this room to take this to heart which is that we as a country treat people that go to college far more intelligent and wise the people that did not go to college and the media propagandize all of you through this. Do you notice how they do it, public approval at poly. You know on tv for the state Approval Rating for collegeage people is this a non collegeeducated people and what are they saying . Here is what the smart people think and here is what the dumb people think. If you gave me 100 people that did not go to college or 100 that did go to college my experience would be like did not go to college are far more wise and humble and hardworking the people that did go to college but im not anti psychologist but inside current system. If you want to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, its absolutely for you but college is career preparation not ideological preparation. If you send your kid to college you will play russian light with their values and they may come back someone you cant recognize. Julie from yorba linda, new member of the texas republican women. I had the great pleasure of meeting anthony of the national or Republican National Hispanic Assembly of california and it was so amazing to hear his story. I know hes been traveling the states working to gain the latino vote and confidence in the Republican Party and i think hes doing a great job and needs also to support him. Also the africanamerican vote. Im wondering what youve seen on the campuses and im the proud motherinlaw of an electric lineman up in sacramento so thats exciting. He is in the skilled trades. I want to put a plug in for those things because its amazing. Thank you. My question is what you seen on campuses and how we can get the vote and the confidence and how that has been going . Couple of thoughts. Its important. Virginia was a deep red state until they allowed outofcontrol immigration policies into their state. Thats a big problem. I will say california, youve seen it turn in the wrong direction, the last 20, 30 years so heres the thing that i do think the latino vote can be won specifically over the life issue, in particular but there are very prolife community and have been propagandized by the left of propagandize by the democrats which is really unfortunate. Also, i see something happening in the black community. I really do. At turning Point University candace owen got her start at turning point usa [applause] we are very proud of her. We believe theres an ideological revolution happening in our country but we need to engage and i talked about this earlier good President Trump should be a champion for school of choice. School choice is one of the most important issues in the entire country. Five words that could get President Trump reelected his School Choice for black kids but i really believe that. School choice is a massive issue, Charter Schools allowing parents to choose better Educational Options and look, the black community has been so horribly treated by the Democrat Party over the last many decades, horribly treated. Especially since dana johnson. Telling the story and encouraging those formal policies and i talked about this in the book but President Trump accomplished the lowest ever black poverty rate, unemployment rate, criminal justice or form and millions of people are off food stamps and he did far more for the black community than president obama ever did. He gets very little to no credit from the media but its also about reaching out, showing up and there is something changing where a conservative republic and are more open to it than ever before but again that is part of what the maga doctrine is which is bringing dignity back to forgotten america and their parts of our country that were cast aside by the ruling class elite and President Trump has done a phenomenal job of turning that around. Im very im cautiously optimistic that we can make big gains but it will have to be generational and it really is. Especially in the black community republicans really competed and republicans went after the black church we could see huge, huge gains in those communities. Charlie, thank you for being here. Could you reassure us all and let us know that you have political aspirations. Very kind of you. [laughter] no. [laughter] i love what i do at turning point usa. I had the opportunity to spend time with people that are running for reelection and always going around and that is great for a lot of people. I love to empower people and help them run for office and all of that but i will say i get so much fulfillment with what were doing at turning point usa britt i could tell you that. We have seen the dial move so much and people say charlie, you got to run for congress and no, thats not in the cards for me and i think the culture war and the culture batter is far more important than that. I think that thank you. We see a great opportunity happening where people are rising up in a lot of new candidates i would love to support and get behind but im perfectly happy right where i am. Hello, i want to introduce myself because if you listen to the media they will tell you people like myself dont exist but by that i mean im a christian and conservative College Professor at uci [inaudible] [applause] but my question for you and its an issue im passionate about is trying to figure out how to prevent school shootings. I want to make our schools safer. Im curious if you have suggestions on that. I have my own ideas and would love to talk to you about them but im curious about i mean, the whole discussion comes down to if you were a School Shooter would go to a scooter shooter that had armed guards or no armed guards for the sole argument that we shouldnt our most prized possession in our country we guard our sporting events, banks, airports with armed guards and machine guns but yet we dont protect our kids that way. Its silly and backwards it to me. Its much deeper cultural issue than that. If you look at the parkland shooting, for example, there was a misdiagnosis and a complete failure of the federal bureau of investigation when it came to investigating that lunatic that did that. The agenda is to take our guns away and we cant let that happen. We need to prevent the left from coming after our constitutional liberties. I think we have an over medication problems with our kids in our schools and the pharmaceutical companies have way too much power and our country and we are pill pushing our kids and over medicating our kids and causing all sorts of different problems. We are talking about chemically addictive substances that are playing games with kids and be very careful to give you an example if i would be at school today they would have been so drugged up because no, seriously but i was on the verge of that and they tried to give me every thing because im little bit type a and was always pushing the boundaries but no, my parents to their great credit pushed against it said hes fine, hes fine but i worry about how many people that could change our country are now being fed these cocktail of drugs under that hes restless. Hes eight years old but what do you expect . Seriously. I think they are correlated to school shootings. I believe that. I get a lot of orbits for that in response but i dont care. It is true. Also, its a family issue but we have destroyed the Nuclear Family and our country and we have to rebuild the american family. We really do. [applause] charlie, id like to wrap it up with a q a. We get quite a few offers that come through here and the cover of your book is one that is interesting to me. Could you give us a little bit of a background . Absolutely. All signed books after words but if you want to give your Christmas Shopping done the New York Times list is off tonight, not last night so if you want to go to amazon and get your Christmas Shopping done and help make the nearterm list i would appreciate it but i want to say a couple things before i mentioned that. I want to thank stacy at turning point in the university and my girl friend, erica, who has traveled the country with me, incredible. All the people that support turning point usa, jeff, i see you out there. So many others. Rick, terrific. Thank you guys but socialism kills. Do something about it. I love that. I picked the cover of this book for reason and i wanted to find the visual image of the president that i think best sums up his doctrine and he treats our country as if it is a child, something he cares so much about that hes willing to sacrifice everything for but i was there when he did this last year at sea back and i thought he embodied it somewhere where he comes out and hugs the flag and that is the kind of protective instinct he has for our country but every decision he makes is around trying to say i care about this and im willing to sacrifice for this and i will put it all on the line for this. I think it does put a picture into a thousand words and the book articulates it as well. Jd ladies and gentlemen, charlie kirk. Thank you.
