[applause] ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Nixon Library and welcome to this beautiful replica of the east room. I am Christopher Nixon cox a board member at this foundation as well as the grandson of the 37th president Richard Nixon. So it is really my honor and pleasure to have you at the library here today and im so happy to welcome you to the library. I see a lot of new faces in the crowd today which makes me very excited i see a lot of young faces in the crowd which means we have a lot of young conservatives. That is really great to see an i would really encourage all of you, after the event today to walk around the library its one of my Favorite Places in the world. I think the birth place is beautiful we redone a lot of exhibits in the library theres a lot of new stuff to see. Id course, you can come back and visit the archives and research into my grandfathers presidency. Theres so much to do here and im so happy to have you here today. But of course, today, we will big again our program by honoring our nation as we always do. But firstly please welcome our special guest today, charlie kirk. [cheering] [applause] [applause] [applause] and ladies and gentlemen please remain standing, for all who can stand, for the presentation of colors in the singing of our national anthem. Left, right, left, right, left, right, and the rockets red glare the bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there of say does that starspangled banner yet wave or the lands of the free and the home of the brave [cheering] [cheering] ladies and gentlemen please give another round of a plot to the Troy High School navy junior rotc honor guard. And that Villa Park High SchoolJazz Ensemble for that beautiful tribute to our nation. [applause] so there are a few rare moments in life when you actually realize how old you are getting. I have been coming here for decades actually, and this is actually the first time that i will be introducing someone who is significantly younger than i am. [laughter] this is a new experience for me so im very excited about that. Of course, we are very happy to have charlie kirk here with us today, he is a Great American and a great thinker, author, political figure if i can call in that. It is really just an honor to have him here today. He is the founder of turning point usa. Im sure many of you are aware of it. [cheering] i would really called the preeminent Educational Organization for our children today teaching children the values that made the United States great. [cheering] and that is what is so needed on our campuses today. Not just on the colleges but on the high school and elementary level. That is the greatest danger to our country is whats happening in our school system. We need the voice of people like charlie kirk out there to show kids there is a another option than what is being taught in schools. That option is actually the right way to live your right, the right way to support your country, and that is so exciting to see people get involved and teach our kids about what is important in the conservative movement. Thats why it is so great to have charlie here today. But i have to say, when turning point was founded in 2012, i was actually at the convention with charlie kirk then, and i remember foster freeze that you should come to this meeting we have this great meeting set up im really interested in funding this organization, its with charlie kirk turning point usa should come with me. I said i have to do a couple of things maybe i will. That shows you why foster freezes in a successful billionaire and i am where i am today. He made a really good decision to back charlie. Were really excited to have charlie here, he will be talking about his book called the mag a doctrine. Its a keeping United States safe President Trump will be known as a Great Peacemaker on the world. Its not just defense the book is forwardlooking, the book says how the United States and people in the United States will defeat socialism thats growing too strong here in the United States. [applause] [applause] this is what i admire most about charlie is not just policy he talks about edmund burke and makes reference to edmund burke, one of my grandfathers favorite authors and my favorite author the conservative mind. He also compares Kathy Griffin to the elites in rome who murdered cicero, i mean my god this is heavy stuff. [laughter] so thats a wonderful part of his book. And finally, on a personal level, i was very drawn to the parts of the book that talked about how President Trump has broken the stalemate between the republican and democratic parties in washington. Has taken a sledgehammer to the elites that ran washington from both parties. [applause] and the reason why this is so personal to me as i feel my grandfather did the same thing in the 1970s but he did not have allies like fox news and charlie kirk to defend him from what he was doing to the elites in the 1970s so that is why i am so honored and happy to welcome charlie kirk here today because we need his voice. I cant wait to hear what he has to say today and we are thrilled to have them here at that Nixon Library, thank you charlie for coming. [cheering] cmac hello everyone its great to be here today it is quite an honor thank you for the whole Leadership Team here at the library it is tremendous, its been a very long month this week. [laughter] we have crisscross the country a couple of times wit from new york, to d. C. , to florida, birmingham alabama, charlotte, phoenix, back to florida, woke up in florida this morning and here we are. Weve got a country to say we got to act like it. It is been amazing thank you. [applause] i want to thank you for getting your copies of the book it is still number one on amazon which is amazing. Its over the entire world were very pleased and honored by that. Overwhelmed honestly by the response by this book. I really want to dive into what is in here and what is important. What i think the media is missing about President Trump. What they are missing about why he is doing what is doing. For those of you who dont know i run turning point usa the Worlds LargestStudent Conservative Organization now in 2000 high school and College Campuses across the country. [cheering] thank you. Fighting for american exceptionalism, the constitution, honestly its not as easy. We say we play on the urgency to win the word. The whole philosophy turning point u. S. A is the left is been winning far too much and we are gonna go where conservatives have really been losing the last couple decades. And making sizable gains and we will see what we are able to and on campuses and long term that is going to be one of the port and legacies of turning point usa when you start to see real sizable change the next generation. So that is par of wiebe wrote this book i been so blown away by the trump presidency. As important to recount those and focus on how hes been able to succeed. But also i am equally anxious because i dont want to see the Republican Party go back to Big Government management, peas and of our enemies, endless wars overseas, silly immigration policies and bowing down to china. I think that President Trump has positively recalibrated the Republican Party for generations. I think its important to learn from it so that our generation continues its success with the Trump Administration for the better. First and foremost, i wrote this book partly for that reason but most importantly as i was watching cable and reading the newspapers, kept coming across these leftwing prognosticators telling me what President Trump believes. I said to myself, you hate him, you hate us, you hate all of us. In imes muzzles india . They are saying President Trump is doing this because he wants air wrenches businesses or President Trump is doing he has no guiding philosophies is unguided missile shooting up tweets in the middle the night. I said to myself, first of all ive spent time with him i have spent time with the first family ive seen what hes been able to deliver for our country. Why is no one actually articulating what the doctrine of the truck presidency is . You just dont stumble accidentally into two and a Circuit Court judges the largest cut in American History best economy in the American History best black american, latino, soleimani and baghdadi are dead, the embassies moving to jerusalem, theron deals cancel their out of the paris climate and finally been able to put her enemies on defense because we protas our own shale and oil. Thats not just an accident. You dont stumble into that because if it was, every other president of both parties wouldve had a track record of success. One is traveling the country talking to many people this room, the common question i would get was charlie, what have these people been doing for the last 20 years . Looks like this guy is just running circles around the conventional wisdom. And so, thats where i went out to go out write the book. The mosque who did you interview for this book customer two i did talk to the president thats partly in the book. Also, i want to rally after rally of people who would wait out hundreds of hours just for a chance to see the president of the United States speak for 30 minutes. I went to a kickoff rally in florida were people spent 200 hours outside through tsunami light conditions. Then i went to minnesota where people waited outside and negative 10degree weather im sure all of you appreciate this, that is not normal. There is no bands, theres its not bon jovi or beyonce theres a comedian, sometimes theres a competing with the president. [laughter] he so much funnier than the latenight comedians ever will be. Did you ever notice. [applause] did you ever noticed latenight comedy shows, they are applauding in the audience is not laughing . Because theyre not funny. Its like a political talk show at 11 00 oclock at night. Anyway, i said to myself, asked myself, what is it that drives these people to wait so long at these rallies to take days off of work, to feel as if they are part of something and then it hit me. It goes back to something in the federal staples and jem papers by the Founding Fathers. Its citizen government. For the first time in many decades, the people finally believe there is a vessel that listens to them, and that delivers for them. The great irony of the whole thing, youd not been able to write this in unlawful pension novel to make people believe this you take a billionaires must be disconnected from you in the kingdom of washington d. C. And from the moment he came down the escalator, he changed american politics fundamentally for good. When you go to these rallies and talk to these people heres the consensus. I felt like both parties were participating in a, i thought the Republican Party talked a good game and did nothing to fix that. And i was so sick and tired of politics as usual, i wanted someone with a sledgehammer, a brooklyn brawler to go blow it all up. [applause] thats kinda special. I said it was kinda poetic. And of course, people say why dont like his tweets, i dont like his im address is 171 time only. Heres the best way i can address it. America was drowning in the middle of the ocean under the managed decline of both Political Parties of the last 20 years. Both parties have contributed to this, Big Government management adventure abroad work countries crumbling. Finally in the middle of the night when they are gasping for air, a rescue helicopter brings us back up to like him are able to breathe again. The first thing you say the person that rescues us is oh, i dont like your tweet history. Come on we are breathing again its completely and totally irrelevant. Like the heart surgeon okay fine thank you for the triple buy has surgery by the way hate your tweets, but im glad were breathing again. Okay . Not to mention, i can make an argument that the twitter feed actually set a cadence and is a public northstar for every Single Person to understand what the president is trying to accomplish in key people accountable for it. Traditionally youd hold a press conference in the meeting wont always cover it. But now there is a real time standard in a realtime accountability measure for everyone to see exactly with the present is thinking and doing. I think he is hilarious. I actually like a politician who is outside of the cocktail pair party we say one thing and do another thing consensus in washington d. C. I dont care if he offends people here and there i like the fact they punches back twice as hard because i feel like our politicians have not been fighting for our country the last couple decades id been perfectly okay with this managed decline. When his time and time again im like okay thats the thesis of the truck presidency. Heres the big picture doctrine, first and foremost when you go into the doctrine you say give me the bad news first. Tell me larry thing thats bad and President Trump in his announcement address was basically pretty brutal. He said we are losing, our borders are wide open, our trade deals are stupid, chinas laughing at us, our economy is anemic, obamacare is a disaster, the courts or compromise, the deep state is corrupt, and this was in the first 30 seconds, right . It was the first honest assessment our country had received in a long time. That is the first part of his doctorate in philosophy mattel straight to the American People from knocking to sugarcoat it im not can it tell you one thing when its actually the other, the second thing is, what ideas are actually rooted in a renewal of the nation. To understand historical significance of what trent President Trump as don is trying to do, what is getting opposition she was actually trying to revitalize and resuscitate a country that was in that managed decline. It is so historically improbable to do it hes doing, because when you have a superpower like that which of america when you have 475,055,000,000 people on food saves, thats really hard to turn that around. People are not gonna vote themselves benefits. The Founding Fathers warned us up against this. One of the things i think is the most amazing accomplishments of the truck presidency that never gets mentioned is 10 Million People are now off of food stamp since President Trump got inaugurated. Thats incredible. [applause] that his historic period for the first time in our countrys history. I shouldnt say it should be modern history he was able to turn that around. That is something that was the demise of the roman empire and many other empires before where people could vote themselves staff. But President Trump convince people and said theres not just dignity and voting more benefits for yourself. How about we create the greatest economy in American History. How about we bring dignity back to forgotten america. So he runs on this historical improbability is so amazing because you see what is happening on the democrat side. You see this, it should make everybody just kiss the ground and pressed god that President Trump was able to defy the odds the way he was. Senator sanders will probably get screwed out of this thing because the establishment does not want him to be the nominee. For good reason, maybe, hes a castro simp of this, besides that i heres a really nice guy. And joe bidens political strategy is the most perplexing and puzzling strategy ive ever seen. Confusion wife with their sister, dont know what state youre campaigning and do not run for the name of barack obama do not member the preamble to the constitution or declaration, tell people not to vote for you and then call them pony faced dog soldiers or whatever he said. Its fifth and six in the first couple of contest, basically meandered into topics nobody cares about rallies and on a couple dozen people. Eventually you will be the last person standing is going to go down as one of the most puzzling political strategy is an American History. A lot of it was because of Michael Bloombergs failure, hes essentially the worst politician in American History prayed how that man made 61 billion and ran, i dont know. Bluebirds reset the race and that allowed biden become the equivalent of what a treasury bodice, flight to safety. What is the one thing i can put my money and that i dont care if it is no return, its right there. For those of you, its like whos the tbill . Joe biden got it. So, i actually make the argument for those that support President Trump and this is a minority opinion, i would much rather run against joe bidens bernie sanders. Id much rather run up against corrupted confused i dont set valuate or evaluate ideology at the highest level of the American Political Party for died much rather run up against someone who is half socialist half knot and completely and totally corrupt then the most corrupt Vice President in American History which is joe biden. Id much rather have that match up for our country and some people agree some people disagree. That was definitely the target audience idea with. Senator sanders has much more appeal than joe biden. You see whats happening there, you see the establishment wrought on the left. The fact that President Trump was able to defeat 16 republicans, feed the bush dynasty the media complex, beat all the attempts to try to destabilize him, i talk about this in my book. I was a governor walker, dennis senator kruse supported then donald trump supported from the midwest. I had my understandable doubts this guy was going to deliver for the conservative agenda. As soon as he was a nominee it was not a question. I spoke at the convention i traveled the country donald trump junior, put every thing on the line. There is no choice, its oversight and conversation. But from the moment i spent more time with donald trump junior and eric term, for those who are trumped supporters they deserve a huge amount of credit because it took a lot for u. S. To have that. He started to see the fact he won the primary was remarkable. The fact he won the general was even more incredible. I talk about in this book an immediate ridicules me and i will say again because i love to bother you. I think is truly a god thing that donald trump got elected to be president of the United States, truly do. I really do. [cheering] i believe is nothing short of divine intervention that came down and allowed america to have a second chance. So he gets elected, he gets inaugurated 17 minutes after hes inaugurated you they say the case or impeaching donald trump now begins. This is so important, talk about in the book because i dont think talk about enough. He very easily could have hedged. He very easily could have become a vanilla republican to try to get them off his back. The Mueller Investigation was a hoax. When theyre probing molars a warning shot. They said stop at mr. Trump rolls were going to come after you. Dont move the embassy, dont cancel that iran deal, and maybe we wont put all your friends in prison on maybe we wont investigate your son for a couple of years. And if you think im over exaggerating, i know how chicago mentality works. Thats how they run washington d. C. President trumps heroism and he said i am not going to be bullied into not doing whats best for the American People. A very easily could have done what other past republican president s refused to do which was not move the embassy to jerusalem not recognize Golden Heights are not cut funding and the tax cut. It came to a very big head which was something that bothered him more than anything else. I have an entire chapter on this which is so important which was the Justice Kavanaugh bite. President trump could very easily pulled the nomination of kavanaugh. A lot of people said i get it, instead President Donald Trump is a first president at a lot of your lifetimes since Ronald Reagan put the left on defense to actually push back against them where they were disoriented and confused, we talked the trumped arrangement syndrome and theres a lot of truth to that. He saw in the kavanaugh fight. That was one of those important moments since anita hill or even since especially the Supreme Court brief fabricated accusations that were elevated to legitimacy by the media. A man who i Sterling Record that was most boring person in the history of maryland, the guy literally had his journals from high school. His calendars to prove his innocence it was unbelievable. I dont even know that was impressive that should have been a nomination 100 to nothing vote that he sold his journals and counters from high school. No no on june 18th and 1974 i was at carls house. [laughter] really amazing. It was actually impressive. You deserved to be on the Supreme Court for that and nothing else. [laughter] [applause] and then then gallivanting left this you had senator harris, senator kuhn and then jeff flake who is part of the problem i wrote the book responsibly by jeff blake. I do nays nays in the book not too many but jeff flake was pathologically opposed to trump and did the right thing and voted for kavanaugh. Elevated the worst aspects of the american left at the highest level played we had the circus an absolute circus and President Trump did not waver an inch. Because he understands of the left is trying to do, hes been fighting the left in different forms and features his entire life. Philip didnt call itself the left, but one President Trump try to build trump tower in new york city and he came up against corrupt bureaucrats and democrats that the left. When President Trump tried to build an iceskating rink that was delayed and delayed and delayed, that was the left. So he has a playbook for this. Its almost as if he was chosen for a time like this because hes one of the few people outside of politics, that has a track record of actually beating these sort of tactics time and time again. It takes a brooklyn street fighter to sometimes go after them. He wins the election, he gets inaugurated, and he actually does something that confused everybody. He actually did what he said he was going to do. Were not used to that at all. In fact its is really bizarre thing where the aides will come into his office and say mr. Trump this is coming up whether we want to renew nafta. Its really strange decisionmaking process called what did i say i was going to do and thats what im going to do. We are not used to this by the way because both parties have never operated like this. It says were gonna do one thing and then morgan or reed negotiating nafta is that alone is worthy of a parade. Usmc as one of the most of them aging legislative trade accomplishments and is not talked about. Putting china finally on defense in getting a really, really good trade deal. We are going to get a better trade deal praise god if you get a second term, to get a better trade dont continue to put them on defense. It is a Washington Cartel was perfectly fine with china getting limitless sleep rich at our expense. He was the only politician with guts to call them out. You look at the judicial victors, just that alone. Kavanaugh 200 Circuit Court judges, its also his indifference to care about what people before him did. Great examples were the most important fights is a fight for life. In the fight for the unborn. [applause] i really do. [applause] so you look at President Trump what, 20 years ago you told me i had donated to planned parenthood that was on the cover of a playboy magazine, there was a prior democrat would be the most prolife president in American History wouldnt believe what youre talking about. Yet, he comes at every decision with an open mind and rationally and analytically looks at it. He looks at the evidence before me and the story about how became prolife is very moving. He had a new woman wisconsin plating abortion he saw this kid raised into his total superstar. And for him, that person would not exist if it wouldve been for that abortion. So what is he do . Hes the first president in American History to speak at the march for life. Thats amazing. The first and again im not here to bush bash, but they did not speak at the march for life. They didnt. They did not cut planned parenthood funding and went up steadily. That should really open peoples eyes because its this guy whos not supposed to be the socially conservative individual with justices. And again, we have some questionable justices on the Supreme Court. But President Trump did this bizarre thing. Im going to tell you the list of people and going to nominate and guess what, he actually picked from that list. And a lot of people voted for President Trump based on that list. A lot of people, because thats the third branch of government that does not get the appreciation. And then foreignpolicy, which i love. This is the bigotry of binary that happens in washington d. C. I hope everyone in this room learns from it and applies it to your own life. No matter what the situation is because here are the two consensus in washington d. C. Option a, we are going to be triggerhappy and invade a lot of Different Countries in the middle east, try to nation build and impose our values throughout the region. Sounded good 20 years ago when we had a balanced budget and we really believed we could bring liberty to the middle east. I think its pretty much the consensus we are not going to turn libya into louisiana anytime soon. Right . And the consensus was where going to send more of her most prized possession into this region of sand and death, as President Trump calls it, and spent hundreds of billions of dollars to try to democratize a region that is not ready for. Im President Trump appended that immediately and said wait a second, i dont like that. That is essentially the neoconservative adventures Foreign Policy doctrine. The Second School of thought is just as much and equally as bad. Were going to pick the worst regimes in the region, send them billions of dollars of cash the middle that i, bow down to them, validate them, and send them well wishes onward toward a nuclear weapon. Thats the other side of the extremists. To President Trump said that celie, and thats silly, so heres organ to do. Targeted tactical and agile strikes against american enemies with disproportionate response for her number one. But number two, we are not going to have the endless bridge building war industry in afghanistan and in the region that puts our most prized possession, our young people, where we have ptsd issues, we have veteran suicide issues, we have simulation issues of our veterans back in society. He said enough. We are here to win wars, not try to democratize an entire region. We owe it to our veterans and to put them in a multi decade conflict with no end in sight with what victory is not well defined. So what is President Trump do . He says of him going to end the endless wars but if soleimani still goes after american citizens im going to take you out with a zone strike. Zero americans died going after soleimani. Baghdadi, dead. [applause] liberated the generals on the ground. Isis was on the rise when President Trump took office. The destruction of isis is one of the greatest most amazing accomplishments. He did it with minimal loss to american life. But liberating the generals to be able to go after americas enemies on the ground. Which is incredible. Ending the war in afghanistan, we will see how that all brokers out, i think we all agree that 20 years, it fatigues the american spirit to be endlessly occupying a country that does not want to western values, that is not accepting western values, when we send 5 billion a year just to the Afghan Security forces and we have 100,000 kids in her in her cities that cant read President Trump realizes that it wants to bring a change. I want to summarize and i want to get the questions. So i wrote this with a sense of urgency because i do i dont know if President Trump is going to get reelected. He should win and a lance line based on his successes. But one thing i want all of you to dismiss mirror vocabulary and i say this is tough love. He is not going to win in a landslide. Its not going to be easy. And i hear this everywhere i go folks, and even some people in this room. Its closer than you think. I have been to 44 states in the last year. I talked to a lot of people the ground. There is a Misinformation Campaign against this president. Theres a lot of work left to do. I go to party after party were people think it is already in the bag and they are planning the transition a second term. I say okay president hillary clinton, right . All right president met romney humble yourself and lets get to work. Because this thing is not over and i hear it a lot. Oh theres no way two there is a way folks if google wants him to lose hes going to lose. Voter fraud, my goodness what goes on in this state alone is the blueprint for the rest of the country. [laughter] and by the way, they are sending their most mischief that goes on here in orange county, they are teaching them in milwaukee how to do that same thing in the battleground states. Harvesting vote by mail not to mention the media against him. Not to mention i really believe the democrats are going to try to encourage and coax bad economic climates they can defeat donald trump. Bill said as he was session. I know he should win, he should win in a 1972 Richard Nixon style landslide. I do 1984 Ronald Reagan style landslide. He should, its not going to happen. Whether he is going to win electoral individual way, i dont know, that remains to be seen. But they are not going to be taken by surprise this time, they just are not. Bloomberg is going to spend whatever he is going to spend, Tech Companies are in a do whatever they are gonna do. I want to see an animated, engaged and worried conservative base. Not a confident conservative base. You guys can be quietly certain what trump is done, but you should be worried because they are working their tails off, folks. I see it every single day. That is the sense of urgency i hope all of you leave with. Because a year from today, he could not be president. I just want you to realize that. It is conceivable, as a matter fact to give it a 5050 split right now. Its a coin flip. You could be here gathering and it could be president joe biden. [booing] i see a lot of people laughing, but it could happen. Thats why we need to operate with a sense of urgency highly employed with all of you. So when you get to some questions until we do the book signing. Im honored to be here, thank you so much. [applause] host thank you charlie do have time for a couple of questions. Our first ones is gonna come up from one of our cadets that presented the colors. Thank you for your presentation earlier. [applause] and what is your question customer. Good afternoon sir my name is ashley i am a highschooler from Troy High School. As highschoolers we dont have a lot of exposure or experience in politics. How do you suggest that we can educate and get more involved in modern politics question asked. Thank you for the question if you do pursue it career in service, you are commended for being here today. [applause] there is tremendous resources out there. I know dennis is gonna be here tomorrow he is a great resource what i recommend what were doing it turning point usa with our digital productions i think is very, very helpful. Just be curious, be hungry, greet the other side, it is true that in high school, there is not always taught the way we might want to be taught. But i would pursue i would encourage you to take five minutes today to try to carve out the politics so that reading the news, make sure you read the right form of news, thats all i will say with that. But just be curious, be openminded. And passion will drive you. Your patriotism should inform your politics, never forget that, thank you for being here today, we deeply appreciate it. [applause] one question i have an a lot of people problem to college when i did. On they use have debate. What the is seeing right now on College Campuses . Guest thats my day jobs i wrote this book is a singular project, but what i really do, we have a machine it turning point usa we have a hundred and 60 fulltime staff we are on 2000 High School College campuses across the country. Were working very hard. I think i am the only conservative to speak at uc berkeley, sanford and lived to tell about it. [laughter] i also spoke all across the country. To be perfectly honest the greatest threat to our countries whats happening on College Campuses. We as conservatives need to recognize that. It once about reform than rebellion to be honest with you. These are multibilliondollar cartels the dont care about the students are going to their halls, are not interested in teaching students core american values. A couple thoughts on this, for highschoolers out there, just ask yourself the question why am i going to school . Not where my going to school. You do not need to go to for your colleges to succeed in our country. We need more plumbers, electricians, police officers, firefighters, veterans and entrepreneurs. My opinion, far less people go to the elite schools all across the country that prognosticate and tell us about horrible and awful americas. Theres actually a multi massive dollar window for people who are trained in the skills for americanbased trained labor. That deficit needs to be filled by high schoolers. Parents far too often push their kids into college and just give you some hard truth here. Unfortunate, more times than not, its about the parents ego not the kids future. If you as a parent out there are not prepared to lug your friends and Family Member or your neighbor and look them in the eye and say my kid is not going to college, and not be perfectly okay with it, its more about your ego than your kids future. Id say that with love and compassion for your kids future. You see that the university of Southern California admissions scandal. In what way is it okay to fabricate the kids are in athletics. This the parents that did that we are talking a milliondollar industry where parents were fabricating records and doing some moral and illegal things so their kids could go to you sc. So what if your kinkos usc . And i dont mean this is a way to insult anyone, i see these parents may say my kid is an honorable student. I would be embarrassed if my parents had a sticker like that. I have about my kids a good person right . [laughter] it doesnt resonate with me, its hyper fixation on who can climb the academic ladder the quickest. Its important if you under certain things and help everyone that wants to go to the highest level, but i care much more about your character and work ethic and what degree you got from sohn coastal institution. [applause] i just want to thank you for being here for like youre an ambassador for common sense. And probably biblical prophecy two. Congratulations on your book. My question is, as a small businessman, i think one of the biggest shams we face, especially in california, as there are all of these great ideas but they come with the cost, correct . That cost to businesses and to the general public, its probably considered and morally concealed, right . So speak a little bit about that and what it does to the economy and businessman. So thank you for asking. Entrepreneurs are Business People the backbone of the american economy. We should be pro individual, profamily business and pro entrepreneur. California is a perfect test case on how to destroy the entrepreneur. Its not empowering the actual little guy. For example, youll see tons of people go to sacramento or washington d. C. Saying we need more regulation for all sorts of reasons. Big business, and surrounding air for them. They can afford more lawyers and lobbyists and more regulatory compliance. Its a small guy with eight employees that put them out of business. In fact, it protects income its more than anything else. But i think President Trump is done so well as it was we seen a Rapid Business startups which is phenomenal. I think that sort of bottomup enterprise model is something that we need to get back to an hour country. Not Just Protection of the corporate status quo. Additionally, as a huge problem in our country because small Business People cant find qualified labor that they need. Part of it is training. But part of it ive talked to small Business People all the time and there are people who want to come work for me but they dont have the skills because they got a degree in something that is essentially that barred my they dont have to study things that dont matter to find jobs that dont exist. Theres a huge market out there right now, i dont know what industry you are in in particular, there is a huge market for applicable jobs. One of the big Success Stories of the trump presidency, and i talked about is the myth live that manufacturing is always good to be dead. President trunk proved empirically theres a multimillion dollar manufacturing opening and our country and he filled it. He filled it really well only seen a huge increase in manufacturing drops since President Trump took office. The final point is this, how kind of back to the college argument, and i encourage everyone in this room to take this to heart which is we as a country treat people that go to college far more intelligent and wise and the people who didnt go to college. The media propagandize is you through all this. June had they do that . To Public Opinion polling. The Approval Rating for College Educated people is this an nonCollege Educated people as this. Or they really sang customer cures with the smart people thinkers with the dumb people think. If you gave me 100 people he didnt go to college or hunt of people the dead, my experiences like you can goad to college are far more wise and how bold and the people who actually did go to college. But im not anti college and just anti the current system. If you want to be an architecture lawyer, doctor, College Event career preparation not ideological expiration. If you send your kid to college are going to play russian roulette with their values and they may come back somebody completely and totally unrecognizable. Thank you charlie her next question. Do next high i am a member of the pat nixon republican women. Thank you for being here. I have a great pleasure of meeting anthony the Republican Hispanic Assembly of california and it was so amazing to hear his story. I know he has been traveling the state, working to gain the latino vote and confidence in the Republican Party. I think he is doing a great job and we all need to support him. Also, the africanamerican vote. So im just warning what you have seen on the campuses and i am the proud mother in law of an electric lineman in sacramento, so thats exciting hes in skilled trades. Want to put a plugin for those things because it is amazing. Thank you. That is a question what have you seen on campuses and how we can get the vote in confidence, how thats been going. A couple thoughts on this. Virginia was a deep red state until they allowed outofcontrol immigration policies into their state. Thats a big problem. I will say that california, youve seen it kinda turned in the wrong direction last 20 or 30 years. So heres the thing, i do think the latino vote can be won specifically over the life issue in particular. Its a very prolife community and they have been propagandize from the left and the democrats. Which is really unfortunate. And also, i see something really happening in the black community. I really do. At turning point usa candidates get their start she got her political started turning point usa. [applause] we are very proud of. Very proud of her. I look, we really believe there is an ideological revolution happening in our country. But we need to engage. I talked about this earlier. President trump should be a champion for School Choice, School Choice is one of the most important issues in the entire country. Five words that get President Trump reelected a School Choice or black kids i really believe that. I think School Choice, Charter Schools allowing parents to choose better educational options. And look, the black community has been so horribly treated by the Democrat Party over the last many decades. Horribly treated. Especially since lyndon johnson. So telling the story and actually encouraging that, those policies that i talk about in the book. President trump accomplish lowest ever poverty rate, lois black american rates many people off food stamps many in the black community. He did far more for the black commuter than president obama ever did, far more. He gets very little to no credit for from the media. Also, its reaching out, showing up, i think theres something changing where conservative republicans are more open to it than ever before. But thats part of what that mega doctrine is which is bringing dignity back to forgotten america. There are parts of our country that if kevin cast aside by the ruling class elites and President Trump is that a phenomenal job of turning that around. I am cautiously optimistic we can make some big gains but its going to have to be generational. Especially in the black community. Black unchecked republicans really went after the black church, we could see huge huge gains in those committees. So charlie, thanks much for being here. Could you reassure us all and let us know that you have political aspirations one day . Very kind of you. No,. [laughter] i love what i do it turning point usa, i have the opportunity to spend time with people who are always writing free reelection of something and always going around, thats great for a lot of people. I love to empower people to do than help them run for office and all that. But i get so much fulfillment with what we are doing it turning point usa. I can tell you that. We have seen the dial moves so much, people say will charlie have got to run for congress, you got to run and im like no, its not in the cards for me. And i think the culture war the culture matters far more important than that. Thank you. [applause] thank you i think we see a great opportunity happening in our country, we see a lot of people rising up at a lot of new candidates i would love to support a get behind. Im perfectly happy exactly where i am. Hi, i just wanted to introduce myself first before my question. Because if you listen to the media they will tell you that people like myself dont exist. By that i mean i am a christian and conservative College Professor at uci. [applause] yes. And my question for you, an issue im very passionate about is trying to figure out how to prevent School Shootings i want to make our schools safer. So im curious if you have any suggestions on that. I mean i have my own ideas id love to talk to about them, but im curious about your thoughts. The whole discussion comes down to if you are School Shooter would you go to a school that had armed guards or didnt have armed guards its that simple. This whole argument that we should not arm our most prized possession, we guard our sporting events, banks, airports with armed guards and machine guns, yet we dont protect our kids that way. Its silly and backwards to me. Its much deeper cultural issue than that though. If you look at the parkland shooting there is a miss diagnosis and complete failure at the federal bribery investigation when it came to investigating that lunatic that did that. The agenda is to take our guns away michaela that happen. We have to do everything we possibly can to prevent the left from coming after constitutional. I think we have an over medication with our kids in school i think the pharmaceutical countries has two much power we are pill pushing it over medicating our kids causing all kinds of problems. [applause] we are talking about chemically addictive substances that are really playing games with a lot of these kids. And be very careful just to give you an example if i was in school today theyd have me so drugged up. Seriously, i was right on the verge of that and he tried to give me everything because im a little bit type a and i was always pushing the boundaries. No, my parents to the great credit always pushed against it and said hes fine, hes fine, hes fine. But i worry about how many people that could really change our country are given this cocktail of drugs over hes restless commies a years years old what you expect, seriously . And i think they are correlated to School Shootings, i really believe that. I get a lot of garbage for that response, but i dont really care. Because its true. Also its a family issue. We have destroyed the Nuclear Family in our country and we have to rebuild the american family, we really do. [applause] i would like to wrap it up with a q a, we had quite a few authors that come through here in the cover of your book is one that is interesting to me. Could you give us a little bit of a background . I would be happy to not be signing books after. If you want to get all of your Christmas Shopping done, the near timeless cuts off tonight not last night we went to go to amazon get your Christmas Shopping done we greatly appreciate it. I also understand couple things if i mentioned that i want to thank my girlfriend erica who always travels the country with me shes incredible. And all the people that support turning point, leah, jeff, so many others rick, terrific so thank you guys. And i love that socialism kills, do something about it, one of our turning point signs. I picked the cover of this book for reason, i wanted to find a visual image of the present that best sums up his doctrine. And he treats our country as if its a child, something he cares so much about hes willing to sacrifice everything for. I was there when he did this last year end i just thought it embodied it so while woolery comes out and hugs the flag. Thats the kind of protective instinct he has for our country. That everything, every decision he makes is around trying to say i care about this, i am willing to sacrifice for this, im going to put on the line for this. They say is picture speaks a thousand words i think it does in that sense. I think the book articulates that as well. Ladies and gentlemen charlie kirk. Thank you all so much.
