Its obviously an incredibly serious issue but in the case of alexandria cortez, she ran as an outsider, so my expectation was that she would be someone who would tell the truth but as i write about in the book, alexandria was basically comparing our border enforcement agent to not use it, she was alluding to cancer earlier this year. Its hard for any americans paying attention to this issue if they realize, as i write about in the book, that have Border Patrol agents. So that doesnt actually jive well. Either trying to insinuate as the congresswoman did not we are running that caps on the border, half of the people risking their lives every day to protect and enforce immigration laws are themselves latino. You look at the media specifically, whos shaping the false narrative . Is a broadcast news . Who specifically . Its the Mainstream Media, generally. The big networks, abc, nbc and certainly cable news. The news also the legacy newspapers, the New York Times or Washington Post. Many of the outlets ironically actually use, i think almost 15 of the book is in notes. I sourced these outlets so they do sort of making a mistake of doing journalism every now and then but the overwhelming majority of the coverage doesnt actually go deeper into the root causes but again many of the issues, i talk about the Climate Change or immigration or the crime and i think generally, it goes back to the distrust you see in survey after survey. The American People dont trust the Mainstream Media telling them the truth, or the whole truth. So i think that has led to the rise of new media. Again, this goes to the fact that congressional approvals 1 17 , people find out that the lawmakers have been entrusted to be the best of us and represent usre, there obviously not all of these people are guilty of such heinous crimes but when we find a fund which taxpayer dollars are being used to settle sexual allegations cases, i think it does speak to a lot of the anger and distrust of the average american has the political elites.
