Following Robert Muellers testimony before the house judiciary committee, members shared their thoughts. I would like to suggest we have delayed doing the work of this committee for eight years. Just started when jerry nadler took over. This is an important hearing. Mr. Mueller, American Hero made clear that any other person doing the ask that trump did would have been indicted. A policy of the Justice Department that you cant indict a president is why he was not indicted. They lied to the American People. They said he was totally exonerated, he lied. He made that clear. Today was a important day. [inaudible question] i think it definitely will. Understand we have an unlawful lawless president who needs to be reined in. [inaudible question] mr. Mueller made the clear point that any other person other than a person hiding behind the Justice Department, a policy of not indicting that individual because he he is above the law as long as he is president would have been indicted. He cant be indicted once he leaves office. I think that is important. We have a president is wanted before policy of the Justice Department, he would have been indicted by robert mueller. We have a lawless person in the white house. Mueller did a excellent job. Hes a great american. [inaudible question] i hope so. I think in time it may be there. He will commit more ask in the future. He has no respect for the constitution. He told school kids the other day that the constitution attempt to whatever he wants. He does not have restraint on him. [inaudible question] i think the fact he would have been indicted if you want president , the fact he was not exonerated in the fact he did all this to get people to commit perjury, particularly trying to get him to make false statements and he stood up as a an American Hero is a truthful person. Let me thank you. Judiciary committee, let me be clear on what we accomplished today. Riveted throughout the entire line of questioning, over and over again, the president obstructed justice. The clear point that there needs not be an underlying crimes to obstruct justice, those are elements of the constitutional process of impeachment. We are here today as a piece of the ongoing investigation. It was clear today in the words of the report, mr. Mueller agreed with that he stands by his report, he stands on his report and hes not wavering. The other point that was made is that the star witness, if you will, refused to testify. Mr. Mueller tried for almost, over a year to get the president to come and testify. He did not. I would not be the case of a constitutional proceeding. [inaudible question] that is a prerogative on a calling today. I assure you as this hearing is further analyzed, you will find that the elements dealing with staff to life, dealing with interfering with witnesses, dealing with the question of dangling of interfering with a witness, dealing with attorney general to unreduced herself, ask yourself the question, if any other president had done these acts, what a preceding not be in place. I would argue that we are doing get the right way, building the Building Blocks for people to fully comprehend. Then we answer the fact of the outright involvement of russians and the active participation of the President Campaign with those individuals. I cannot imagine we would accept this as the new norm of the presidency of the u. S. [inaudible question] the strategy of questioning or the approach of questioning was to solicit the truth. If we solicit the truth in a manner of presenting a report and he said yes or no, that is the truth. We didnt alter or edit his words, he said yes. [inaudible question] i think there is no question that we saw this hearing, overwhelming evidence in extraordinary detail from special counsel. Specific instances where the special counsel recounted the evidence collected by the president , tried to have them fired and directed him to fly about it and create false documents. Private citizens to go tell the attorney general to tell the special counsel to limit the investigation to future president s, effectively ending the investigation. Those are two examples of many for obstruction of justice. President would have been charged. We have now seen significant evidence, this report changed lives as it will be very powerful. When action is next, we believe the time is long past to open a formal impeachment, begin considering whether impeachment for high crimes ought to be filed. We live in a country where no one is above the law. Special counsel said, construction of justice takes a serious offense, to impede, interfere, and a criminal investigation, the heart of our justice system. Any attempt to obstruct justice is a serious crime. Weve seen overwhelming evidence of that. [inaudible question] [inaudible conversations] i think the special counsel testified in a way you would expect. We, often recording back his own words, he had very limited time. Make sure he maximized value the time he had. [inaudible question] what we established today, sitting in the white house, trump committed instruction of justice. American people and other members want to see that in the next few days, the established the president ordered him to fire him. Then he ordered him to covered up. We went to Great Lengths to show them that every element of the crime of obstruction of justice. We established he tampered with two witnesses. Those are all nominees and we hope the American People see it for what it is. [inaudible question]. s hearing was not surprising. For people who did not, this blows there might. Weve got it in the white house right now, [inaudible question] those words show donald trump committed acts of obstruction of justice. Its not even misdemeanor. Robert mueller himself said someone could go to jail for a long time. [inaudible question]. [inaudible question] the critical thing is, the American People saw overwhelming and devastating evidence of obstruction of justice. Related to finding the committee and by the witness and its irrefutable. Were all on the edge of our seats to see about volume one. In terms of volume two, this is a great victory for the truth and possibility of justice in the country. America finally got to see what special counsel mueller was talking about. Repeated efforts by President Trump to obstruct justice, fire the special counsel, cover up his experts efforts, to coach witnesses, influence testimony, all of this is an outrageous bel of his office and rule of law. His job is to take care of the laws executed. Not to trample or violate the law and commit crimes. That is precisely what the president did. He tried to start justice. When he learned the investigation was looking at him, he continued to obstruct justice. Its an absurd situation that he was hundred and two. But now the whole country can see it. I think we are going to take this situation. There many members of congress who read their report when it came out. They felt there was sufficient evidence even in the active version, who launched an impeachment inquiry. There are i think 8490 members of congress who asked for impeachment. Were going to continue to fight all of the battles in court. To engage in factfinding, administration has been trying to stonewall and cover up from the beginning. Im afraid to say general barr was part of that. We should have had this hearing late march or early april and the first come out. He did everything he could to pull the wool over everyones eyes. The confusion that attorney general barr created in the country. We didnt get a redacted version for three and a half weeks and then weve been laboring to pierce the propaganda that attorney general barr and trump laid down. I think today begins to show that. I will let my colleague go. [inaudible question]. Shes been very clear. She reflected the consensus of our carpets. As members review evidence and the hearing and are persuaded, i think it will reflect that. I think it will continue, i see it all the time. People are taking this seriously and soberly and looking at evidence. I think that ultimately the majority of our caucus will move forward. Special counsel testified, hes a prosecutors prosecutor. He was very careful in the language he used. He confirmed the contents of his report. The contents revealed evidence of criminality and conduct by the president. I think the hearing was incredibly helpful in providing the public with clarity. I tell you from sitting in the room, my colleagues agree i was our sense. [inaudible question]. I would say if you all have documented previously, most of the market public has not read the book. Many members of congress have not as well. They provide the American Public and members of congress who have not reviewed it the opportunity to learn more about the findings. I expect after doing that, many will reach conclusions we have. The importance of this hearing cannot be emphasized enough particularly in light of the u. S. To make characterized reports. Not only have a not read it, they relied on the attorney general of the u. S. What you would expect to be truthful clearly, it was not. This is by this laying out of the actual evidence was so critical. [inaudible question] okay. Good afternoon. Ill be happy to take questions. He confirmed the fact that there was no collusion. He verified what we have already known for three months. When we look at what happened, we found that ending of the mueller report. Hopefully it will continue on
