I just want to acknowledge him and thinking. [applause] in the former chairman of the board of the new England Council is here and he also happens to be an alum for the school in hanover and he is the political guru of New Hampshire and he has worked on somebody president ial campaigns alexander, romney. [laughter] president mccain truly a sought after group to say the least. We are honored to have a beer. Also i would like to think neil not only for his kind words but for all the good work he does here at the politics and eggs. We would not be successful putting these programs on without his team as well as the team of the new England Council. It is really a must stop for other president ial candidates and my hat goes off to neil and his team. The council has been very busy to say the least we have had over 55 events in new england in washington in the First Six Months and we are not going to be slowing down at all. Next week will be in washington to hear from the junior senator of New Hampshire, he will be speaking during the Council Members on tuesday the 16th. There will be in Providence Rhode island and they will be speaking to the new England Council members there. But today, we are delighted to welcome kirsten gillibrand, the senator is spending her time here in New Hampshire and she campaigned for the 2020 democratic president ial nomination and she also spends quite a bit of time here in her earlier life. When she attended college in her undergraduate degree, she studies and went on to attend law school ucla. I suppose she needed a break from the cold New Hampshire winters and went on to very successful career as an attorney in private practice in her home state of new york. Working at Manhattan Law Firm she got involved and led the d c Women Leadership form. He led her to her interest in Public Service. 2006 use elected to the United States congress represented new york 20 congressional in the hometown of albany. In 2009 following the Hillary Clinton nomination as secretary of state, she was appointed to complete clintons term in the United States senate. And reelected twice. She has been a champion to the Economic Empowerment of women and working families. Advocating policies, increasing the minimum wage, expand access to affordable childcare. In ensure equal pay for equal work. Throughout her career in Public Service she has shown time again, she is not afraid to take on a tough fight. Whether leading the military, dont ask dont tell policy or offering the stock act to prevent members of congress from benefiting financially from an insider information. The fighting on behalf of the 9 11 First Responders. She has worked to find Bipartisan Solutions to some of the Biggest Challenges facing our nation. And now she is ready for a new challenge as she seeks her partys nomination to challenge the president of the United States and next years election. She is a busy schedule and New Hampshire over the next several days and we are so honored she could take time to join us here this morning. Please join me in welcoming the United States senator, kirsten gillibrand. [applause] well, i cannot thank you guys enough for having me. Jim thank you for the excellent introduction. Neil, thank you for putting on this Incredible Opportunity to carry on a tradition that started long ago. Did mary give me some advice, be honest, direct, dont pander. I dont pander and im not competitive but ill find every egg in this room before i leave. [laughter] so what date you need to know bobby i take on the fight the other people will not. It is something ive done my entire career and something i will do as president and why im running for president of the United States. The first fight i took him was running for congress in a two to one republican district. Upstate new york had been democrat except for two terms after the dixon administration. And then before. When i decided to run in the district i knew one thing. I knew i could travel the district, listen to voters, understand their concerns and then i fight for them. I would fight for them as if they were owned under my own Family Members. Nobody took resourcing, no one thought i could win that campaign except for my mother. That tells you a lot about my mother. My mother, the woman who went to law school, one of three women in her law school class. Unlike that film of Ruth Bader Ginsburg where they had the class at harvard with just three women, that is what my mother did. By the time my mother was my age to Second Degree black belt in karate. My mom was a mother who cooked the things giving turkey she also shot the things giving turkey first. So i grew up in a household of strong women, she learned that strike from her mother who was also very much a troubling her. She is party to run for office. The grandmother never went to college, she was born in the south end of albany and she recognized an 18yearold secretary inner state legislator that all the men had the power and all the women where the support and she knew if she wanted to have a say in anything she needed to amplify her voice. The way she chose to full high her voice was to organize all the women of the legislator, all the women in her upstate new York Community and over 50 years these were the women who ran campaigns, knocked on doors, dust envelopes, and over time these women became powerful and you cannot get elected in albany without the blessing of a mother and her lady friend. I grew up in a household where campaigns matter. What you did with your time matter. Womens voices matter. When iran for the district it was a very long shot. The one mistake my opponent made was the same mistake President Trump is going to be, he never took resourcing. He demeaned me, he dismissed me, he name called me. In fact he said things like shes just another previous. And of course i said, thank you. Lets get our troops out of iraq. So i learned pretty quickly it does not matter how others treat you, its about how you treat others and how you fight for others. Iran on progressive because i wanted to get the troops out of iraq and iran on medicare fraud. Letting people buy into medicare at a price they can afford to create competition with the private insurer to drive down cost and create universal coverage. And that works in a two to one republican district. I won the election and ran again two years later. My opponent did the same thing. Demeaned me, dismissed me, name call me. The funny thing, i was pregnant out to here with my second child, by election day and Walking Around with an infant and toddler. In my opponent decides to run negative ads. Very negative ads, pictures of my face and read and flames coming out of my head in a very dark voice saying shes not who she thanks she is. We learn something true about politics, you cannot win a congressional race against the young mother with an infant in a toddler with negative ads. Ibm by 24 points. [applause] so i do take on the fight that others wont. When i got to the senate, the first fight i was asked to lead was making sure the 9 11 First Responders had access to healthcare. I cannot tell you how dead on arrival this bill was. It had languished in the house of representatives for seven years. It had 20 hearings, it was going nowhere. In the u. S. Senate it had not been introduced and never had a hearing. Not only did i introduce the bill without a republican cosponsor, i then had a hearing and tried to move to the floor, we realized over time no matter how hard we worked to lift up the issue other senators were not interested they looked at new york and said your wealthy state we are not helping at all. So we had to lift up the stories of the First Responders, these were men and women who came from every district in the country, every state and they were the ones who were so brave to raise a power when everyone else was racing down. They did the horrible work of first tried to find survivors after the towers collapsed. And then clean up the remains. They stayed on the pile for weeks and months and george bush told them in all the while there breathing in the toxins from crushed steel and glass in electronics. It was killing them from within. More firefighters have died since 9 11 and on 9 11. We have to lift up those voices, and i realized it was still not enough. Jon stewart had spent two whole episodes on the 9 11 First Responders. Msnbc, cnn covering it nonstop. Newspapers, front page. It was still not enough. I went into the lions den, i went to fox news. And i met with roger, and i said to roger, why are you not supporting the 9 11 health bill. You say youre the Party Efforts responders, where are you. I convinced them and i learned the second truth in politics. We have jon stewart on one side and fox news on the other you will win. When we finally held the vote on the 9 11 health bill if passed unanimously. So i take on the fight others will. The second bill i took on was the appeal of dont ask, dont tell. I cant tell you how hard that was, there was democrat who said kirsten why are you doing this now, it is not convenient. I like them and i said when is all right ever convenient. You do it because it is the right thing to do. I got the democrats, reach across the aisle, sound the seven republicans and we repealed, dont ask, dont tell. The most lgbt law on the book at the time and we were able to repeal it. Again, i take on the fight that other people will not. I also take on congress. I take on the greed and corruption at the heart of what is wrong in washington. You tell me any socalled unsolvable problem and i will show you the corrupt special interest standing in the way others into gun violence and taking on the nra or the gunmen and fractures or whether to get healthcare and taking on the insurance companies. Or the pharmaceutical companies, every single problem you need to be i will tell you and show you the greed and corruption at the center of our democracy that makes progress on those issues so hard. When i was a first member of congress i told you my schedule, my Financial Disclosure in my taxes only. The first person ever to do that in congress. To show radical transparency even the New York Times called a revolution. I followed up by passing the law, the stock act to band Insider Trading by members of congress. He cannot believe that was already illegal per but it was not. Even in this campaign i was the first president ial candidate, this cycle to post all my taxes online for all to see of all the years. I do take on the fight that others wont and that is a tradition in New Hampshire. I just participated in the walk this weekend. It was amazing. You have a story in a legacy of a woman who walked across the nation to get money out of politics. As a president ial candidate ive introduced the most transformative, the most comprehensive piece of legislation to fix our democracy first, to take on the greed and corruption with clean elections, public funded elections, to go directly after political corruption because i promise you every candidate out there has a lot of plants, a lot of good ideas and you will not get any of them dead if you dont know what is standing in your way. As use alternative as soon as you get money out of politics it changes everything. It changes who participates, we did in seattle and we know. Women participated, young people, where people of color, or economic people, fail participated. And it changed who got elected. Imagine doing that for the entire United States. It has been a cornerstone of the next presidency to have money out of politics. [applause] and last, i have taken on President Trumps agenda more than any other senator in the u. S. Senate. When he tried to create it nationwide movement against womens productive rights i went down to the front lines in georgia. I stood up to trump and his agenda and said womens reproductive rights are basic human rights. Basic civil rights. There is Constitutional Rights that were guaranteed over 40 years ago that fundamental right to privacy to make the most personal decision, ourselves to decide when were having children, how many children, under what circumstances we are having the children, and President Trump has emboldened 30 brothers cedars around the country to overturn the basic Constitutional Rights with the intention to overturn robie wa wade. [applause] i will qualified robie wade and i will repeal the height amendment making it possible for low income women have access to reproductive care. They will make sure no matter which state you limit your guaranteed access to full range of Services Including abortion services. I will guarantee that as your president. Now you know who i am and you know if you really want to get something done just tell me its a possible angle get it done. Thats who i am. I have an amazing week in New Hampshire over the last week to visit all ten counties to hear from your constituents about whats on your mind and what you want to fix in washington. I tell you your agenda is not that different from the rest of the country. People want the basic things they need at the kitchen table. They want access to healthcare is right. They wont clean water and clean air so their children can thrive. They want access to better jobs. You have a low Unemployment Rate but you have a high underemployment rate. It needs a lot of people are looking at more than one job, a lot of people dont learn enough to make ends meet. A lot of People Living below the poverty line. The truth is, as your president i will guarantee job training for anyone who is underemployed or unemployed. I would use our amazing Apprenticeship Program that the Union Support and create so effectively. I will use our Community Colleges and state schools and non for profits already doing this work. You already have public trading in New Hampshire that is working. As president , i will fund the Training Programs to guarantee that anyone who is underemployed can get the skills training that they need to get a higher paying job, full paying job, a job tilt allow them to build their way into the middle class and know the American Dream is for them. Because the last election was not just about trump. Yet directing is the problems this country faces are not just about trump. It was such a disillusionment by voters across America Gutfeld they were so deeply left behind. No one was fighting for them, nobody had their story in mind and nobody was going to fix the problem. They voted for a guy it was the biggest disrupter because he is well up the system. He was wrong to talk about no bad trade you for system being rigged, he just lied about. He lied about all of it. He said hed bring back the beatty factory jobs, not brought back the beatty factory jobs prayed he said he did and batch radios, he is only started trade wars and crippled manufacturers and agricultural industries. He said he would lower Prescription Drug prices, he would not stand up to the pharmaceutical industry if his life depended on it. It is not who he is. President trump is someone who demeaned portable, he is someone who punches down and i think we deserve a president who is brave. A president who will do the right thing for the right reason. He will go through fire to do whats right and that is who i am. I have an agenda to raise all the issues and im just going to talk about a couple of them. The family bill of rights, im the first president ial candidate to layout a comprehensive solution for the struggles that families and hipsters are thinking. It has five pieces, first i guarantee that you can survive pregnancy. The Maternal Mortality rate is a higher than any country in the world, do you know if your black woman in this country you are four times more likely to die in childbirth. That is unacceptable. Ill guarantee the trading in equipment in every hospital room that delivers a baby so they know what to do. Ill make sure anyone who wants to become a. Can become apparent. If youre in lgbtq couple, how many times have you been discriminated against when you want to adopt a child. If you have infertility in your family, is your Insurance Company pay for the treatments, no it doesnt. We want to make sure if youre well income payment later. , lgbtq. , you have a chance to have a child. When you bring the baby home i want to guaranteed the baby survives, yum noy dia how much and that mortality exist in this country because young parents might not have the basic things they need. We know the basic way is to send them home with the baby bundle. Its been used in other states and countries, its a box that is a crime, it has diapers, formula swaddling costs, thermometers anything you need to keep the baby alive. It works. It reduces infant death. And i want to make sure when you bring the baby home you have a chance to actually stay with a child for a few months to bond and be there. That is why we need National Paid family leave. [applause] i have been working on a National Paid leave bill for the last five years. It is comprehensive. Its an earned benefit, you buy and just like Social Security and its not a lot of money. Its a cost of a couple coffee every week. That would guarantee every Family Member paid leave when you need it. Not just for a new baby but apparent who may be dying or spouse who is sick or really need your help or for a loved one in your family that needs your 24 7 care or new baby. Gender neutral, everyone has access no matter if you work in a big company, Small Company fulltime or parttime. I know if we can focus on our families we can help the economy grow. Last, why not guarantee universal prek, why not have affordable daycare, those Early Learning years are the most important years for a child to have access to books and numbers. We know from studies that every dollar you put into Early Childhood education you get 11 to 13 out. Productivity across the childlike time. That is a good answer. Im the only candidate that has a broadbased reform. Last, all in with one of the biggest issues that New Hampshire voters have asked me a lot about. Global climate change. It is the greatest threat to humanity that exist today globally. If you have a problem its that big he really need a solution that is bigger. I would not only pass agree new deal because is bipartisan, almost every aspect of the platform of ideas is bipartisan. I have passed parts of it over the last ten years. I put a price on carbon. Let me tell you how that works, center part of the business community. The Green New Deal has three ideas, infrastructure, green jobs, green engin clean air and. Of course you want road, bridges and source. Thats common sense and we should invest. Green jobs, our young people are not getting access to the stem field that they need. You need to make sure young kids are invested in science, technology, engineering and math. If they are there poised to take these jobs to the future. That means investing in training. Making sure they have the right trading and giving lower tax rates to innovators and people who build housing that are energyefficient, the inventors who come up, geothermal hydropower producers. So they can have more investment so they can grow as an economy and as president i will not only reengage on the Global Climate of course but i will be the nationwide and global conversation about why this is an urgent crisis as it is. Why not make great energy part of every trade agreement. Why not push our allies in other countries to do what is right to preserve clean air and clean water into fight against Global Climate change. When john f. Kennedy said he wanted to put a being on the moon in the next ten years he did not know he could get the man on the moon in ten years. But he knew it would be a measure of our innovation, competitiveness, it was a race he wanted to win and that is why he started the space race with russia. I will start a Green Energy Race with china. And with the entire world. That is how you get it done. You make it a measure of our success, a measure of our innovation, a measure of our success as a country. It is about inspiring people. Making sure every young kid wants to be an engineer or mathematician so they can sell the problems. Thats what you could do as president ial leadership. Thats why im ready for president. That is why i will win. Thank you for joining me. [applause] we have time for a few questions, maybe ill ask the first question. Can i get a microphone time in savings, it is a big issue in the retirement system is Social Security in 2020 we will be drawing down assets in Social Security. If government officials dont act in the next 15 years we will begin discussions on benefit cuts and its estimated 20 cuts will become half of americans that are in retirement the core source of retirement Social Security and you also asked what government can do and should do to avoid these major cuts that will be coming . So we have a challenge, not only with retirement, this needs to be strengthened but also with Social Security. I would do two things, on Social Security, i think we should blow the cap, we have a false cap just over 130,000, that is not necessary. If higher income wage earners invested in Social Security it would not only be permanent but guaranteed for all future generations. I have legislation in the senate but a number of other candidates that are running that would leave a total hole so would not affect the cost families. It would start up again after 250,000. That is one easy solution. I do think we need to look at retention reform in ways to reward work. A lot of our workers have counted on their pension as part of a negotiation for their wages. In those pensions because the crumbling and are basically losing value, we need to have major pension reform to solve the problem. We have to start thinking about other ways that we can reward workers for workers Going Forward so we actually have less pressure on the system. That is one of the reasons higher wages as a 50dollar and will wage so we dont have people working 40 hours a week and still living in poverty. No one should be forced to be working fulltime and still not have enough money to see their children or provide for their families. We have to combine Social Security reform with tension reform and fixing the economy overall so workers can earn more. I think you have to support our unions. It is been a long time since we supported unions as much as we should. When you are unionized in the community here of her wages. 25 higher wages in communities that have union organization. We also know the protection that unions put in place from the worker. Whether its environmental standards, for the seniors include water for the community. Or whether its fair labor practices. The truth is we need to fight for workers and thrive in this economy. Our tensions are not what they used to be. Also Retirement Savings bill in congress and the senate has the bill that will encourage small employees to offer 401ks and encourages people to have a retirement and savings plan so they dont rely on Social Security. Hopefully thatll pass the senate,. That is a common sense idea i support. A question from karen from aarp probably on medicare. [laughter] i am not about daycare. Thank you, senator for taking my question and welcome back to hampshire. My question is very brief and to the point. If you are elected president , what is the first thing you will do to lower drug prices. Good question. I would take on the Drug Companies and i would do it in a couple of ways. First of all i believe we should have healthcare as a right not a privilege. We are to believe that already. It is part of the Good Samaritan world why every person who needs medical care to go to hospital and receive on emergency basis. As you know emergency room care is the most expensive in the world. One of the ways to get to medicare for all is to go back to the Drug Companies and guarantee that medicare patients have the lowest price for all drugs. Unfortunately that is part of the corruption greeted washington and under george w. Bush will be negotiated Medicare Part d, drug company lobbyists could write the bill in the dead of night in nature that medicare did not get the lowest price. And as a consequence our prices for drugs under medicare is too expensive. The second thing i would do, take on Drug Companies and comprehensive legislation to go after them so they raise the rate every year end have no basis to raise those rates i will select the profits from the drug and we have legislation to do that and make it a law. Because you need to hold them accountable. Third there is a lot of drugs that people need that are not even available yet in generic even though they have been available for very long time. Like insulin. The investor of insulin was so excited that they have a lifesaving drug, they did not patent. The owner of the patent continues to change the formula by ten emails every year so they are never off town. Number one i will take on the patent industry in the patent laws and try to fix them. And number two, if we cannot get a lifesaving drug like insulin into a generic. I would as president to start producing drugs that are necessary for lifesaving that should be generic and art and i provide nonprofit project. You do for insulin in a drug called prep with the intent needs drug which is been available for more than a decade and still is not generic and could cause. Under patients 14000 a year end the only drug that can protect the lives from dying of aids. I would go right after the root of the problem, the rot in the greed of the corruption of industries that spend millions of dollars in lobbying and advertising to make sure the status quo is maintained. The status quo is not working for the american people. [applause] good morning. Im an advocate with all comers association. Currently there is 5 million americans with alzheimers or form of dementia. At a cost of 1. 1 trillion by 2050. If you elected president what would you do to in this Public Health crisis and would you consider entering a plan . Alzheimers is one of the diseases we should care. And i will invest in the nih so we can find cures for alzheimers as well as doing the Translational Research that is not being funded at the level it needs to be funded. Second, i think as the babyboom population ages we need far more health aides because of a lot of our seniors with alzheimers of course need 24 7 care but they would love to age in place. They would love to stay in their homes, communities where they know the local hairdresser, though the local shopkeeper, know their roots to them from the doctors office. That is important and we need to build up the Healthcare Industry to provide for the future of the baby boomers who need 24 7 care. I do that in two ways, first i would raise the wages for home health care. Id make sure its at least 50 an hour and next to inflation. In second as a way to inspire more young people to go to healthcare i support national Public Service. In the way i designed this idea, any young person who wants to do a year Public Service would get two years of Community College or state school for free. If theyre willing to do two years they would get for your spree. I would define Public Service in the broadest term it would include healthcare, education, green jobs, we need to solve climate change. First responders and military. This is is in expansion of g. I. Bill. If you get more but young people the opportunity to work in healthcare as a Public Service career for a year or two they may well inspire Home Health Aides to become nurses, doctors, to know what it feels like to spend their lives serving others, it changes everything. I think its investigated out to President Trump. A president who is divided the country, demeaned and vulnerable someone who is constantly spewed hate and division. I believe the antidote is asking young people to serve others so we can be reminded as a people that it matters far more what you do for others they waited for yourself and remind people we believe in the golden row. We should treat others that would like to be treated it always care. [applause] senator thank you very much. I want to thank you for introducing the classroom to careers act which creates more flexibility to allow people to have a career allied Work Experience while theyre in college. We really appreciate that. Could you talk about your vision for Higher Education when youre president . Young people want to have the skills in the workplace. I do believe weve seen this work in New Hampshire and new york print one exhibit from new york, when a needed advance welders they cannot find any and 500 miles. And they went to the local Community College and asked them for coursework in welding. Every graduate the program will get even a job at the 70000 year job. Its worse, they pretty trained and placed 100 workers to the program alone. In the higherpaying wages. I think the skill training must be invested for anyone who is underemployed or unemployed. In terms of making college more affordable i think national Public Service is a way to get us into free college and asking what medicaid can do for you but what you can do for america as a way to change the character of the country from one generation. Also i think the debt is too high. One thing i would do is allow anyone to refinance the debt at the lowest rate. Its absurd that the federal government is making profit off the backs of her students and i would suggest that any college debt can be refinanced at the lowest rate at about 4 . In automatically. Under national Public Service idea to the extent that you have debt you would like to get rid of doing that to the national Public ServiceProgram Giving your career toward Public Service to help offset the debt. The gentleman done here. I have a loud voice. [inaudible question] my question to you, with the u. S. Womens soccer team go to your white house . [laughter] [applause] not only will they come to my white house but we would have a party for a week. It would be great. Im pretty impressed with the team thats why i believe they should at least be paid the same as men if not more. [laughter] [applause] more softball questions . [laughter] welcome back to the hampshire. Week for the micro please. Welcome back to the hampshire, im kate haley, what can we do to stand the tide of antistem best that we know nothing this of the instances of antivaccine people in anticlimate change science folks. Is there something you can do as president to change that . Not appoint people like betsy devos. Appoint people in education and who are knowledgeable about the field and who actually care about clean air and clean water, unfortunately President Trump has created unlimited deregulation result in pollution. And this is really important to reckon us. When a polluter pollutes, they decide its more important to make money then it is to guarantee clean air and clean water in the community that they serve. What theyre doing, they are saying profit is more important than people. That is the definition of greed. Its not about capitalism versus socialism, dont be misled. What it is about is the difference between healthy capitalism and corrupted capitalism. Corrupted capitalism is the definition of greed. Thats when a company or an industry believe their profits are more important than anything. Look at the nra and gun manufacturers. It is more important to them to sell more guns to more people that support universal background checks to make sure people who should not have guns should not have them. That is why they are against the violence against womens act. That is why there against any common sense reform like an antigun trafficking. To keep the guns out of the hands of criminals. I believe my ministries will be one that is diverse and represent all of us. I will have someone from each community in my cabinet even in the disabilities community, i will make sure the epa director is a man of science or ma womanf science who understand what is happening with global claim change and make it a priority. I will make sure that my trade representative is somebody who understands that if we do not take issues like Global Climate change seriously we will have a country that is destabilized, a world that is destabilized and we think the refugee crisis today is bad, you have no idea what it would look like and 30, 40 or 50 years if we dont tackle global reform. I will make sure every member of my cabinet understands the importance of science, understands the importance of climate change, educating our country and our young people in the truths and the facts. [applause] wait for the microphone. Thank you, senator for being here. I am the Democratic Party chair and a former americorps member in New Hampshire. Hearing you talk about servic service one of the stories that duck the most for example where there is a 50 disparity rate in the Current Governor has no intentions in solving the crisis with the budget. What would you do to seek the kids that are going home about 50 of them with lack of food, no dinner, they will just have breakfast and lunch at school. In the summer they might be lucky to have one mail. What we do to solve the problem as president . I served on the Agriculture Committee for the last 12 years. And in the community what are my priorities was food security. I traveled to my state in the country fully understanding how much Food Insecurity there is. This food desert in rural areas which is shocking. Food desert and merit under mountainous areas like upstate new york. And in inner cities. It means it is very expensive or difficult to get access to healthy nutritious foods, basic fruits and vegetables. Ive spent a lot of time fighting for access to food stamps, nutrition programs in making sure it last through the summer too. A lot of kids as you said the only meal in the day is a school lunch that they get. Its why i want to make sure we have School Breakfast and School Dinner for at risk communities. Its why want to have a Summer Meals Program so in the summer months we can bring kids to Community Centers or central locations so they dont get their lunch during camp time but bring home a backpack of food for the whole family. Its why i spent time investing in the food banks around my state and i will around the country and put money in every farm bill to make sure we have more food security. We have the wackiest country in the world. We should not be a place where families do not have enough food to meet their needs where children are actually going to bed hungry. And it hurts all of us. The most important reminder, one of the reasons im ready for president , President Trump does not care about the people he has no empathy at all and he has no compassion he turned a blind eye and we have to stop that. We have to recognize we are each others keepers and the ones who care about the families who are food secure and dont have enough to eat. Thats why you need a president who actually cares. Imagine what a working mom in the white house with due opposed to the manaus misogynist. Now is not the time we should be plain safe. Is not the time we should actually be afraid. We select a president who is brave enough to take on the fights of other people wont and that is who i am and that is why im running for president. [applause] one final question. The gentleman in the back. My name is ari and with our federal budget deficit reaching to reach 1 trillion buys early as next year im wondering what your purchase as president. I think you high debt and deficit and you spend a lot of money servicing the debt. That money can be upwards of 500 billion a year. It is a lot. Its a huge drag on what we can do as a nation. I think the quickest way to pay down the debt and reduce the deficit is create a growing economy. You really do need to stimulate growth through having more people earning at the highest potential as well is making sure everyone who is unemployed or underemployed has access to the job training, itll be the cornerstone of economic agenda for employment. You also need to see opportunity. The Green New Deal is epic new deal. If you invest in young people so they can be the entrepreneurs and innovators of the future that creates a growing economy. If you can guarantee things like clean air, clean water people will be healthier and more productive in the workplace. Theyll be able to create more Small Businesses and find your opportunity for investment to create a broader growth. All the ideas i talked about today i will pay for, ill give you one example on how to pay for them. I believe that we can easily put in place a transaction tax and not many president ial communities are willing to stand up. I voted against the bill out twice. I actually read the bill and having been about her i understood it. I knew it was entirely designed to leave Taxpayers Holding the bag. I believe the transaction tax pin is on the hundred dollars is a small amount in it will harm or disrupt the flash trading industry which i dont believe creates value. It also creates and norms amount of revenue. Other countries like the uk have already indented did not affect the Financial Markets at all. That generates about 77 billion a year. Without money you can invest in job training to deal with other implement an appointment. As well as national Public Service which will get people in the industry that we needed going to. The last idea that really affects the economy is not necessarily something you think of immediately. But its comprehensive Immigration Reform. I will expire. You have over 10 Million People in this country who are part of the communities, part of the economies but not necessarily paying taxes, paying Social Security, pay property taxes. If you create a ten year long path to citizenship and asked them to pay their taxes and buyin over the ten years you will create in normas revenue into this country. An enormous investment, workers who are already working and can come out of the shadows and stop being paid under the table, stopping exploited as they are by Many Employers and after they have opportunity to be investing in their community and investing in common good. That alone will create huge economic engine and if you do that it is a way to also deal with the fact that we have a refugee crisis at the border in a challenge in america about how we have comprehensive Immigration Reform. If you do all that you can then begin to pay down the debt and reduce the deficit because youre creating a broader brace of Economic Growth in creating opportunities for everyone to be fully employed. I just want to thank the senatsenator for stopping by. She had a very busy schedule but she wanted to stop here because it is a must stop but also to show respect to all of you in answering any questions, she is very frank and a fighter to say the least. That is why she is in the business. She is quite wrinkly fighting for a lot of people who have no voice. And we appreciate her Public Service, which the we wish them. Thank you, senator. [applause] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] i am running because i think we need a commanderinchief and give thanks and in taking on fights that other people will. They should be paid for the excellent work they do and i believe in equal pay for equal work. We are proud of where we are on this campaign. We talked directly to voters in every part of the country and community. Youve seen im leading the conversation on several issues. Ive lived the conversation became shorter so i thought us where we are and we are going to keep fighting for the voters. The when it comes to your most recent past, is there anything you want to apologize for to the voters . Its better to have candidates that recognize the humility when they are wrong and ive been asked about those questions dozens of times by National Networks and not only did i say that i was wrong, but i lead on coming up with Immigration Reform over a decade. I lead on issues of ending gun violence for over a decade. I think we need a president that have the humility to recognize when they are wrong and have the wisdom to listen to their constituents and have the courage to not only change leave from the new view. Are you satisfied with the Vice President by . Im here to talk about my vision for the country and on issues i have the most comprehensive approaches on racism, income inequality and the gap between right and left america. Theres a lot of bold ideas. It includes getting rid of cash bail and equity investing as they have an opportunity switzerland industry taken over by wall street and i believe in dealing with healthcare at the very extreme levels of mortality as well as dealing with some of the educational economic disparities getting more access to capital and Early Childhood education and more access to debtfree college.
