It was evil. Evil. I am a big fan of psalms 122 that says pray for the peace of jerusalem and those who do will prosper. I am also a fan of romans 13 4 that talks about the wrath of god. I hope hamas is wiped off the face of the earth. [applause] scott, three or four days ago i met with the ambassador from israel. The ambassador said a proportional response is to wipe them off the face of the earth. I really like that response. Number two they said they have the resources, weaponry and manpower and have called up 360,000 reservists and they have what they need because we have been investing in them for more than 10 years, about 35 billion. That iron dome sophisticated Missile Defense system. We need to make sure there is not daylight between the United States of america and israel. The second thing we need to do is tell our president to stop making deals with the iranians and giving 6 billion for hostage negotiations. When you know that the biggest blunder of hamas is iran and money is fungible. Once you have it, you can do everyone with it. The administration has been saying im dead wrong but here is the truth. When hamas says to iran, thank you for the money, thats all i needed to know. That makes this administration complicit. Scott the first thing we do is stop spending money we do not have and buying things that we do not have. 33 chilean dollars 33 trillion of debt amassed makes our current interestonly payment 500 and 72 billion 572 billion not touching the principal, interest only. We have to grow our economy in the private sector. This is news from washington, d. C. Government people do not create jobs. Jobs are created in the private sector. I have created jobs only in the private sector. I started smoke as his, started an insurers business. I started a real estate company. I started a janitors company. Scott said you started so Many Companies because you cant keep a job. We are going to rebuild our economy, and i have a plan called build, not borrow. We borrowed too much money from china. We have to build in america. We have lost over 100,000 factories in the last 25 years. Devastating our nation and certainly devastating South Carolina and the deep south where we lost textile mills after mel after mill if we are to recreate economy i plan makes 10 million jobs. Unleash all of Americas Energy assets. Lets not be energy independent. Be energy dominant. Likes export our excess energy, and create 3 million highpaying, american jobs here at home in the good old usa. Number two, we can create between 45,000,000 new hightech, high manufacturing jobs. Hightech manufacturing jobs. We do that by continuing to work. I wrote the tax cuts and jobs act. I am one of the three people in the senate who wrote the bill. The former signed it. We took the Corporate Tax from 35 to 21. We reduced every bracket on the personal side. We saw unemployment rates go to the lowest in the history of the country for minorities, a 50 year low for the majority population, a 70 year low for women. The Great Opportunity Party delivered the greatest, most inclusive economy in the history of the country and did not tell a soul. 2. 4 trillion tax cuts. We would have to reduce our taxes little more on the corporate and business side so we would bring back those factories to america so that we can compete against china by having supply chain resiliency. That means we must learn to depend on our western alliances, not on people who want to eliminate us. I call that common sense. 10 million jobs grows your economy at 5 , which adds trillions to your economy, williams to the treasury, and reduces inflation. Inflation is so high because biden on his first act passed a 1. 9 trillion covid relief package, and the only thing missing was covid relief. [laughter] 1. 7 trillion went to the progressive radical lefts parities, sending checks in the mail. That created over the two years, 16 inflation. As a leading republican on the banking committee, talking with jay powell, he said he had to put downward pressure on the economy. It was 11 rate increases. 550 basis points. Now the mortgage is 7. 5 instead of 3 where was two years ago. Your gas is 40 higher, electricity 20 higher, 20 higher. For a kid who grew up in a singleparent household, a 40 increase in gas for my mama is called a crisis. 85 of American Families today say they are struggling and they are putting off Financial Decisions because of this economy that is stripping them of over 7,000 of spending power. Under president scott, 10 million you new jobs 10 million new jobs, highpaying jobs, stop bending money from washington. Interest rates will go down because inflation goes down. You mentioned your mom a second ago. Obviously, a lot of your fires perspective and ideas for the future, from your upbringing. It is a core important piece of who you are. By the way, i brought my mom today and he went straight to her and said yes, the powerbase of this family, nights nice to meet you. Would you mind sharing with us your story because it informs your policies in politics so deeply. Sen. Scott thank you so much. I will just say this quickly. So many people in our country on the left, its like a cancer growing. On the rights, theres a bit of it too. There is a drug called victimhood that is devastating our country, and it comes with a narcotic of despair. There are people who actually believe that agreements is our way forward, and i know that greatness is our only path to remain the city on the hill. [applause] so, i was raised by a single mother sin poverty in a small inner city in South Carolina. By a single mother in poverty and a small inner city and self killing. My mother taught me to shoot for the moon and shoot for the stars. She was an abdomen spared what an she was an optimist. Her optimism turned to a different form of encouragement when i was in high school. We are not in the deep south but i always said that a switch is a southern apparatus of encouragement. [laughter] i will leave it there. My mom worked 16 hour days as a nurses aide, which means all she did for 16 hours was to change bed pans and to roll patients were slyly more than minimum wage. But she believed that if she could do it herself, it was her responsibility to not ask for help if you can do it yourself. [applause] if you have seen one of my tv commercials that says if you are able bodied in america, you work , my mom taught me that. She also taught me if you take out a loan, you pay it back. Now, she said, boy, if you commit a violent crime, you go to jail. That makes common sense. The speaker before me only reinforces this last point which i consider common sense american volumes american values. If god made you a man, you play sports against men. These are the kind of values i grew up with. [applause] and my mother taught me that you can be a victim, or you can be victorious, but you cant be both. We chose victorious. And my grandfather, born in the jim crow south, segregated south in 1921. When my parents divorced we moved in with him. He said you have a choice, you can get to bitter or you can get better. That was a man without any formal education. He said if you have faith in god, yourself, and faith in what america will one day be, all things are possible. And while we have people today who dont believe what he knew 50 years ago, it stuns me. All this nonsense about division and discrimination, im not here pretending like there is no racism or discrimination in america. Im just telling you that america is not a racist country. [applause] we have made so much progress. Let me close this question by saying this. There is something sinister in nature that has been growing in our country and is the radical left who wants to use race and power, race and class to hold onto their power. And they will use any group of people, any issue, any individual to hold their political power, even at the expense of the american people. And you look at johnsons great society, it devastated poor families and particularly, black families because it required the husband and the father to leave the house for the check to come in the mail. You can now measure that devastation in unemployment, crime, and fatherlessness. It is almost like they want a valueless, faithless, fatherless america. Now it is spreading to other communities across this country. My mother taught me that the harder you work, the luckier you get. You will thank god almighty you were born in the right country because you arent all that and you need a bag of chips. Thats what my mom used to tell me and thats what im sticking with. I heard it in the halls and people were meeting you and you had the reputation and folks on the cable and tv Networks Talk about you are a nice guy. Do get sick of being called a nice guy . Sen. Scott i do. I am a nice guy. I am an optimist that the truth of the matter is i am an optimist because i grew up in a really tough neighborhood. For me, being an optimist means i understand the pain and misery of failure. Optimism keeps you going when everything around you seems to be going to be going in the wrong direction. When i was growing up, some of my good friends, they were shocked. They were shot, murdered, buried, incarcerated. To get out of that neighborhood, you had to be tough, but if you are not optimistic, if you dont believe that america will afford you an opportunity that is circumstances, sometimes you quit. I laugh at the people who say you are a nice guy, as if that is it. The metal forged under fire, you dont see that on a debate stage the people are having a food fight. You dont see that when things are going well. If you want to see real metal, find an optimist who has gone through the fire and that purging process makes you appreciate being an american citizen because i know this story does not happen almost anywhere else in the world. You cannot start out on the proverbial wrong side of the tracks, almost fail out of school, watch your friends devastated, and have a mother who says, i brought you into this world and i can take you out. [laughter] when you have that kind of upbringing, you become optimistic. Real fast. It changes everything. America needs clear, powerful, strong, positive leadership who believes in the future more than they do the Rearview Mirror of the past. If we continue to be a bunch of victims like the left wants us to be and a few on the right, we will miss it. We are not a nation in decline. Under president biden, we are a nation retreating from our values, from personal responsibility, from hard work. All we have to do is go from president carter to president reagan and the lights come back on. I believe it is possible again. We have about one minute left. We are in the fourth quarter, final stretch and this is when all eyes are going to be on New Hampshire. This weekend is a perfect example of it.
