With our National Political editor. Good morning, dan. I read your column this morning on the front page of the post. Why not give viewers a [laughter] late night and an early morning. My god, what a horrible mistake. Im so sorry. Front page of the Washington Post, give viewers a thumbnail of what you wrote today. I think that the sum and substance of the debate is that the Vice President , mike pence, came armed with the case he wanted to make against joe biden, the Democratic Party, and Kamala Harris. Time and again it is clear that what undermines the case most significantly is the prison he works for, President Trump. It was obvious really from the getgo when the discussion focused on the coronavirus pandemic and the administration handling of it. The Vice President in essence recycling statements the president has made repeatedly over many months, which he himself has said, touting what they claim is a great record against all the evidence of how this country has a much higher death toll than any major industrialized country in the and, as senator harris and moderator susan page both asked, why is that the case . It was a tough night for him to try to do what he wanted to do. The administration, the campaign, the trump folks would like to make this election a choice, not a referendum. But we were reminded again last night that it is a referendum on the president of the united states. Dan, let me get your thoughts on something. A lot of comments have been made about the fact that none of the comments asked by susan page or actually answered, particularly from Vice President pence. But each candidate seemed to have a question that they were asked that they visibly dodged. When it came to Vice President pence it was the idea of excepting a peaceful transfer of power. For senator harris, it was the question about adding members to the Supreme Court in response to a confirmation, and expected confirmation of judge amy coney barrett. Do you think the fact that harris and pentz both dodged those questions will hurt either campaign . Not particularly, but i thought it was quite revealing on both their parts. I say not particularly in part, jonathan, because the electorate in this country for the most part, people have made up their minds about where they stand. People are already voting without necessarily watching these debates or even in spite of watching these debates. But i thought that those were both very important moments. The issue of pledging a peaceful transfer of power is about as easy a question that a politician can get. Who existedce before he became Vice President would have had no trouble answering that in the affirmative. His problem is that the president will not commit to that and the Vice President is intensely loyal to him, often to a fault. I think that makes it impossible for him to do what probably in his got is the thing he should do, which is to say yes, we will abide by the results of the selection. I thought that for senator harris, she is also following the lead of the person at the top of the ticket. Vice President Biden has resisted answering this question since it came up, since the nomination, or actually since the vacancy after the death of justice ginsburg. The fact that he will not answer it is obviously telling and the fact that she would not do it last night is also telling. Its a pretty straightforward question. Would you do it, would you consider it. He does not want to answer that question because he knows it would stir controversy. He will have to, he will have to judgeith that issue if barrett is confirmed and he becomes president. There will be pressure from a lot of parts of the Democratic Party to do exactly that. Came on airre we here, online, the commission for president ial debates announced that the next president ial debate that was supposed to be in miami is going to be virtual. You have covered many debates over your career. What do you think it will do to the tenor in the tone of that president ial debate . That and what happened last week are likely to make the tone of the coming debate somewhat closer to what last night was. But so much of that will depend on how the president decides to conduct himself. If he comes in again determined to, to be super aggressive, then we might, we might have a repeat of that. I think its a little harder when the two men will be in different locations. Harderou know, its just to conduct that kind of performance when you are remote. So, well see. Ive always said to people that, you know, debates depend on the attitude of the participants. If people come to debate, they will debate. If they choose to come to be disruptive, they will be disruptive. They will do what they think is in their political interest. I think we will have to wait and see what the president decides he wants to do in the next debate. But it will certainly feel different. Part of that debate will be held in miami. The citizens in the town hall will be in miami, as will steve scully, the moderator for the debate. The principles will not be there, they will be in different locations. Last night people always talk about, and you may have mentioned this in your column in the Washington Post, the Vice President ial debates dont usually have much of an impact on the race. But last night, because the two principles of the campaigns are both in their 70s, i think people, or do you think people were looking at the debate in looking at these two candidates as potential president s . And do you think that they succeeded in telegraphing their message . Particularly senator Kamala Harris, who compared to Vice President pence, is still relatively unknown in that regard. I think it would have been impossible for anyone to watch that debate and nothing about the fact that one of those two could end up as president before 2024. When you are dealing with older men, with Health Issues, particularly the president right now, but Vice President pence has had Health Issues in the past. Everyone who came to the debate was looking at them with that in mind. I also think that really from the beginning, since she was nominated or chosen by Vice President biden to be the running mate, senator harris has been seen as someone who is capable and ready to be president , if she is asked to step in. I think that her background, her record, or visibility, the fact that she has run for president has helped to equip her to pass that bar. So, i think that last nights performance probably only reinforced that with the public. I want to end the discussion here with a great question. In all your years of political reporting, conventions, debates, president ial campaigns, have you ever seen a situation as surreal as the fly landing on a candidates head in the middle of a most important moment in their career . I cant remember one. There may well have been one. Strange creatures can get into an open hall and do things. But i cant remember one. Particularly landing, a fly landing right on the head of a whitehaired man. There was no missing what was happening. The Vice President , if he knew it, he was well composed and perhaps he didnt even realize what happened. Being what it is, the fly had a twitter account and followers within moments of it happening. Dan, weve got to go, thank you so much as always for coming on this morning. Thanks, jonathan. Lets get over to the opinion side of the paper where you will find my colleague bruce marcus and mark ruth. Karen tell multi . [laughter] you know what . The show, viewers, im so sorry, karen, thank you so much. [laughter] rails, like the first debate. Well, you know what . Saw, it was 8 09, so about seven minutes ago President Trump was on fox News Business and he said that hes not going to participate in a virtual debate. As we were just talking about with dan earlier. The commission on president ial debates announced that next weeks debates are supposed to be in miami between president s trump and biden, they are supposed to be virtual but now the president says he will not participate in a virtual debate. Mark, let me start with you. Can he well, obviously can do that, but is it to his advantage to do that . Shouldnt he show up in up for a debate given where he is in the polls . If his doctors clear him, theres no reason to have a virtual debate. Its simple, either his doctors say hes not transmitting disease and is ok, or hes not. Theres a little bit of hysteria going on here. But look, he does need to participate because he doesnt want the debate, the last debate to be the last impression people have of him on a debate stage. And its in the interest of the American People to have candidates in person debate. Karen . Hes got to debate. It is the debate commissions call on what the format should be. At this point i mean, the president was in the oval office yesterday. Something that raised a lot of eyebrows. Health experts, for someone in his situation. At this point it shouldnt be just a question of his doctors. It should be a question of what Public Health experts believe. If he shows up, its not just his own health that is at risk. As we are seeing with whats going through the white house right now. Lets talk about last nights debate, karen. Debate move the needle in any way . I think not. Moments,e few if any except for a cameo appearance by a fly. I think it basically just reinforced both sides. It was really the trumppence ticket that needed a reset here, if you believe the polls at the moment. So in that sense, they were the losers. Market . I think that pence was the winner on points. Donald trump said to watch it he handledbout how himself. He anticipated every attack from Kamala Harris and had an answer ready. He was very effective. Was probably the winner because she didnt make any catastrophic mistakes that could be used against her, and two, they are ahead. Candidate who is behind needs to change the trajectory of the race. Mike pence did an outstanding job, but you know, donald trump needs to really study the way he did it. Particularly what he did, he knew what the attacks were going to be and he waited and let her say the things that he was going to then rebut. Donald trump didnt let joe biden get a word in edge wise. I think that trump needs to go ahead and learn from this and be , let his opponent speak. Do you agree with mark . Did Vice President pence when it on points . I just dont, they were both pretty cautious. As dan pointed out a few moments ago, they were essentially playing defense for their principles. Of hard to its kind score a debate of this sort, where you essentially have two surrogates debating on points. To get yourwant reaction to something. I saw lots of traffic on twitter, particularly towards the end of the debate, quite a bit of commentary going on in the morning after the debates, talking about Vice President pences demeanor. And his demeanor towards the moderator, susan page, of usa opponent, Kamala Harris. Folks have called it condescending, mans planing mansplaining. Im looking for the words. From your perspective, how did you see his demeanor when it came to the women on stage with him. Im going to be interested in seeing, these are these things that you sometimes dont fully understand until a day or two after the debate, but i think there is a real danger here. He did two things, he completely ignored the female moderators rules thatenforce both of the campaigns had agreed to. He also ignored what the questions were. They both did that to some extent. Pence more so. I am skeptical that this is the kind of thing that, you know, suburban women sitting there watching at home, this is a big constituency that the Trump Campaign is struggling with, would necessarily find that appealing. In the Hollywood Reporter they ran a piece saying that pence appeared condescending and kept addressing the issues that the moderator had moved on from. If trump did his best to get his picture under the definition of alpha male in the dictionary, the mike pence portrait might be found under mansplainer. To karens point about suburban women, do you not think that Vice President pence hurt himself in the mission of trying to get suburban women to come back to President Trump . Be specific. To i think that analysis is a huge stretch. The reality is that he treated a the moderator the same way he would have treated a male moderator. He just debated. The fact that he didnt exactly answer the questions he was asked or use the opportunity to go back, any of us who have watched these debates for decades, everybody does that. Its nothing different. By the way, Kamala Harris did the exact same thing. The very first question she was asked was what would you do differently in january from the Trump Administration and she didnt answer. She refused repeatedly to say whether the Harris Biden Administration would pack the Supreme Court. Hold them both to the same standard. The sex of the moderator and the sex of the Vice President should be irrelevant to scoring the debate. But is it . To my mind its not. What do you think, karen . I dont. I think that one of the, one of the dynamics here is that this is the first time that a woman of color has been on a National Political party ticket. Page, shes asan female moderator out there. I just dont think that women watching this are going to especially given the struggles that the Trump Campaign has had ,ith white women voters suburban, especially collegeeducated, i just dont think that people are watching this with this kind of filter that doesnt take into effect gender and race. Let me get you both to talk about what you think where the high points and low points for each candidate. Karen, i will start with you. What was Vice President pences best moment and also the best moment for senator harris, do you think . Cases it was, both you know, his defense of i actually think he was ready for the covid question. He wasnt necessarily telling the truth, but he had the line of attack. Hers were more when she went after the questions that country the kind of that we are. In both cases they were very message thatng the was job one for their principal. Market . For the harris low point, i think its something she didnt say. The very first question was about whether, about the covid pandemic, unlike susan page, she never said hey, we wish the president a speedy recovery. She launched into a blistering attack. The absence of that was glaring. It really didnt take much to do that. Karen that the Vice President was ready on the covid. I thought he was very effective when she was trying to blame the president for the deaths and he quoted Vice President bidens own chief of staff saying that they completely blew it, they did Everything Possible wrong during the swine flu pandemic and then it was just pure luck that tens of millions of people didnt die. There was a picture of the ineffectiveness of a response to a pandemic. And of course, the Supreme Court, this is such a central issue to the election. The democratic line is that they are, that americans have to decide about this and they will not tell the American People, two debates in a row where they refused to answer the question if they will pack the court. Thats not a normal thing. Its an unprecedented idea. 100 and 50 years we have had nine justices and they want to turn this into a referendum, they have to answer the question. Of not answering the question, does it not disturb you that Vice President pence, like his boss, refused to answer the question that they would accept a peaceful transfer of power question mark he didnt answer the question last night. Sure. Of course, they should have. President trump should have answered that. But what about Vice President pence . They both should have. Of course there will be a peaceful transfer of power. But this whole thing about a peaceful transfer of power is a little hysterical. The Supreme Court, if this is litigated, the Supreme Court will decide, it will be bush v gore, it will be a decision that is enforced. Theres not a single chance that there will be troops in the streets and a violent opposition to donald trump leading leaving the white house if he loses the election. Go ahead. I think the question of packing the courts is biden takesto if office. Packing the courts would be such an extreme measure that would take such a huge, huge legislative and legal lift. I think its one of those issues in the out there perhaps fevered swamps of the left, but its just not likely to happen. So i actually think that, you campaign, the biden they are wise not to address it. In order to add judges to the court, not only would you have to win the presidency, but the democrats would have to take over the senate. Thats just, the politics of that, the electoral piece of it, lets say that were to happen. The politics, as karen says, of getting that done would be a huge lift. Market, you were very kind to point out a loan note for senator harris. Can i get you to articulate a high point. What did she do well last night . Look, i thought she prosecuted the case on covid very effectively. Made a lot of very effective points. Her handling of the covid pandemic was probably the most effective point she made and she kept the debate focused for a while on that subject, which is where the Biden Harris Team wants to keep the debate going. As long as we are talking about harris are biden and winning. If we talk about the economy and the Supreme Court, i think that trump and pence are winning. Most important lake, honestly, she didnt make any major errors. When you are ahead, you know, if you dont blow it, if you dont blow your lead, then you win. Karen, this is the only Vice President ial debate that there is going to be. There are supposed to be two other president ial debates. As i talked with dan in the opening of the show, just towards the end of our segment, the news broke that President Trump said he would not take part in a virtual debate. How confident are you that we are actually going to have two more debates in this president ial cycle . I think we will. The challengehat, with a virtual debate is that this next one is a town hall forum. How are you going to sort of zoom, or whatever they use, in that situation how will you give viewers a real sense of genuine interaction between these candidates and ordinary voters . Its going to be a challenge. But i just dont think it is tenable for either candidate to walk away from the debates. Either debate. Do you agree with that, mark . 100 . They have to have the debates and donald trump is going to have to participate. I think they should be in person. Its a simple question. Is he medically cleared . Is he shedding virus . Theres no reason not to do it in person. If there is a net positive test, you do a virtual debate instead. Isnt it important to know when his last negative test was . Thats information that the white house isnt releasing. Its not relevant to the debate. Its relevant generally. Well, i mean his last negative test, yeah, right before the debate. If he doesnt have a negative test, of course he shouldnt debate in person. I agree with that, yeah. Karen, do we know for sure when his last negative test was . Last reporting i saw is that we dont exactly know when that was. Or do i have that wrong . We dont we do not know when that was. Its not just the president s health that is at issue here. If there are other people in that room, the president s team is going to have to agree to continue to wear masks inside, which they did not at the first debate. It was interesting last night, karen pence went on stage with no mask. There ares not, many, many other issues that have to be taken into account and that the trump team is going to have to agree to for this to take place. We have got two more president ial debates. You have got less than four weeks, what day is this . 26 days before election day. What do you, this president ial election cycle is unlike any ive ever seen, so you cant even predict whats going to happen, but what are you looking for in the next 26 days as markers for where this president ial campaign is going . I will start with you, karen. The think the course of coronavirus is right now the, the biggest determining factor of what remains of this election season. Biggest determining factor of what remains of the selection susan. Both the economic and the health pain it is causing the country. I agree. I think donald trump has an opportunity that so far he has not seized to take his personal experience with covid in turn it around. He tried to take it the other day with the video he put out where he talked about the whicheutic that he took, was developed under operation warp speed, and how impressive it was in terms of saving his own life and restore his health and the fact that he will make it available for free to every american who wants it or needs it. We will alsoind, get a Third Quarter economic report which will put the economy back front and center. We will have doubledigit Economic Growth, the biggest Economic Growth we have had in a quarter. That will put the economy back in the conversation, which is important for trump. In terms of covid and the impact on the administration, the president and the first lady arent the only two people who tested positive for the coronavirus, there are more than a dozen, maybe by now two dozen who testedtaff positive and the joint chiefs of staff quarantine. Americandent can the people be about the continuity of government when the coronavirus seems to be exploding within the upper ranks of the federal government . Mark, will start with you and we karen. D with we need to be concerned about the fact that a lot of people have gotten sick in important positions. At the same time, we have plenty of continuity of government plans in place. Vice president pence, first of all, the president now that he has the virus and has recovered from it, well have some level of immunity for the immediate future so i dont think we have a situation where he will not be able to execute the powers of his office. I think, however, that the president s behavior, we all know he is on powerful drugs including steroids, is going to continue to receive scrutiny. I think some of these middle of the night tweet storms are not exactly instilling confidence in the public. Trumps baseline normal behavior isnt exactly, you know [laughter] he did that before steroids, karen. [laughter] we saw it in full effect. The first debate before cleveland. Karen and mark, we have to go. Thank you very much for coming on Washington Post live. Thanks, you guys. Thank you. Byebye. For watching. Ou Washington Post live will be back at 10 00 a. M. You can go ahead and start calling in now as we show you some of the headlines this morning from political media on the internet from the right and left side of the aisle, starting out of the right at breitbart. Es this morning on both sides. Pence master class dominates the vp debate. Kamala awkward. Smirks and scowls from the blaze news organization. Record, fend stroms harris dodges this is how it played on the left from slate this morning. There was no way for mike pence to defend stroms record. Debateharriss had great points but it rested on the terrible record of the incumbents. And this is from the Washington Post, with nearly 200,012 dead the responsehas has been great. Here is part of what senator Kamala Harris 212,000 dead, thatpence has the response the coronavirus Pandemic Response has been great. Heres what part of what they said. China did not play straight with the American People. They did not let our personnel into china to get information of the coronavirus on the coronavirus until the middle of february. Thankfully, President Trump has been standing up to china who has been taking care taking advantage of americans in decades. President trump may that decision before the end of january to suspend all travel from china. The American People deserve to know that joe biden opposed President Trumps decision to suspend all travel from china. He said it was hysterical. Thank you, Vice President pence. He will continue to stand strong. Host that was mike pence on the coronavirus last night. Heres what senator Kamala Harris had to say. The American People have the greatestt is failure of any president ial administration in the history of our country. Here are the facts. People in the last several months in our country. Over 7 Million People have contracted the disease. Ne in five businesses closed we are looking at frontline workers who have been treated like sacrificial workers, looking at over 30 million severalho, in the last months, had to file for unemployment. Here is the thing, on january 28, the Vice President and president were informed about the nature of this pandemic. They were informed it is lethal lethal in consequence, that it is airborne, that it will affect young people, and that it would be contracted because it is airborne. They knew what was happening and they did not help you did not tell you. Host senator Kamala Harris at the first and only Vice President ial debate of camping 2020. We are taking your calls throughout the three hours of washington journal this morning. We want to know your reaction and who you think won. Here is pedro. The navirus was 870 seconds total for the topic of covid, raining out to 14. 5 minutes. Looking at other categories, the president s health and joe biden south, 356 seconds on that discussion. Health. 356 seconds on that discussion. When it comes to discussion on taxes, 10 minutes on that. Seven minutes on topic of climate change. Three minutes on the topic of jobs. Theres other information there if you want to take a look at the data. He also has data looking at the number of interruptions. That was a theme you saw from the first debate and last night, not merely the amount. But ed okeefe breaks it down saying, according to cbs news and their count, it was the Vice President interrupting Kamala Harris 10 times during the force of course of the backandforth. Kamala harris interrupted the Vice President a total of five times. For total speaking time for both candidates, it was about equal. 30 Vice President got about minutes and two seconds of speaking time. Host more from pedro throughout the morning and more of your phone calls throughout the morning. A whole lot of them this morning. We will start with mike in South Carolina on the line for those who support the biden harris ticket. Mike, good morning. Caller good morning. I did not think either of them one. I think we won. I think we, the voting public, lost because i think susan page asked good questions. Unfortunately, neither one of them chose to answer the questions asked but you talk about whatever they choose to talk about. Anymore, i want to vote based on either of those two. I will vote on the president ial candidate, so i think we the voting public, again, lost out because i wish they would have answered the questions asked. Host do you think susan page could have done more to get them to answer the questions she originally asked . Caller i dont know how the moderator can do more. She tried very often to shut them off. Neither one of them reacting well to that or stopping. It should not be the moderators responsibility to tried to shut them down. It should be to try to get them to answer the questions that are asked, and not what they preprepared to say. Host mike, thanks to your call from South Carolina. A daily color with this headline in the reppo, 90 minutes of dodging questions, punctuated by a surprise flyby guest. Next is on the line for those who support the trump pence ticket. Caller good morning, and thank you for taking my call. As a former democrat most of my life, and im a senior citizen, it is not about my team winning anymore. This is not the party of john f. Kennedy, the democrats. You have to look at the proof and the putting in what head as been and what it has been the last four years. Forget about trumps tweets. It is what has taken place in the last four years, minus the coronavirus. Unbelievable, the jobs, the military, helping veterans, the list goes on and on. Pence last night, they both have their strong tonts, but if it came down joe biden being sick and harris taking over as president , that is not a good thing. She does not have the experience. Michael pence has been a governor for many years, always been doing the right thing. Just look at their records and it will tell their story. Bottom line is, when i go to a restaurant and i order my dish every week, i love it, it comes to my plate. I dont care with the guy behind the looks like, what the color of his skin is, i care about what is happening in my plate as i meeting. Thats what happens with our as i am eating. Thats what happens in our country. Donald trump is a businessman and knows how to get things done. Joe biden has been in office for 47 years, and this is the biggest part, being in office for 47 years, he does not have one backing of one police organization, sheriffs department, anywhere in the country. That has to tell you something. Host thats dave out of florida. For more on the moderators debate, susan page, we go back to pedro. This is someone who didnt interview with usa today giving our thoughts and she said i didnt get the answers all the questions i had hoped to get she told the editorinchief. Prepared i got speeches instead of spontaneous responses. She said she had a clock on the desk to keep a tally and she said early on, it was clear that i had to do more aggressive moderation then planned to keep it about equal. If you want to read more, go to usa today. From ao has an analysis moderator perspective. Page repeatedly allowed kamala pence tod mike interrupt each other and she often declined followup when they dodged the substance of the question. Inability to rein in mike pence and repeatedly tried to get the Vice President to stop talking, saying variations of thank you 22 times over the course of the evening to no effect. Our bacterial phone calls, first undecided voter, mary out of virginia back to your phone calls, our first undecided voter, mary out of virginia. Caller good morning. My impression was that they both did well, much more substantive than the president ial, thank goodness. Mary, you have to turn talkyour television and to your phone. Do you want to finish your comment . Caller basically a lot more substance, which was great, but i think there was a line and i think it was offensive that the democrats are kind of using the pandemic to their leveraging pandemic leveraging to their benefit. The line that your plan looks a lot like ours was a great line because that is the truth. Listened to dr. Birx, dr. Fauci, all of those that cspan was showing. Not all the channels were showing the reports of the covid. I had a mom who was sick and i was listening, so it just feels and i know that look at adopted chinese for the day, and he was not paying attention to it. He had people in florence posting on social media pictures of the chinese, because they were afraid to lead, and say this is something to take serious. I feel like the democrats do a lot of that too. Host that was mary in virginia. The next is out of douglasville, virginia on the line who support President Trump and Vice President pence. Caller how are you . I was very impressed with mike pence. He did a good job of bringing out certain things in regard to issue of china. I thought he did a good job in terms of rebutting pretty much everything Kamala Harris had to say. I think the republicans feel confident that mike pence, should anything happen to trump in his next term, mike pence could go right in. I was impressed with the whole situation. The here is part of exchange from the debate last night on the issue of transparency. Do voters have a right to know more detail Health Information about president ial candidates and especially about president , especially when they faced some kind of challenge . Absolutely. That is why joe biden has been transparent, and the president has not. Both in terms of Health Records but also taxes. Of greatow, because investigative journalism, that taxes. Trump paid 750 in when i first heard about it, i literally said you mean 750,000 . And it was like no, 750. We now know donald trump o and is in debt for 400 million. Just so everyone is clear, and that means you owe money to somebody. Who the be good to know president of the united states, the commanderinchief owes money to. The American People have a right to know what is influencing the president s decision, and is he making the decisions on the best interest of the American People or selfinterest . So susan, im glad you asked about transparency. It has to be acrosstheboard. Go has been transparent over joe over many years. Has been transparent over many years. He puts it out there, has been forthright, but donald trump is about covering up everything. I want to give you a chance to respond, Vice President. I respect that joe biden has spent 47 years in public life and i respect your Public Service as well. Ae American People have president who is a businessman, a job creator. Hes pay tens of millions of dollars in payroll taxes, created tens of thousands of american jobs. The president says those public reports are not accurate and the president released stacks of Financial Disclosures the American FinancialAmerican People can review, but the distinction is that joe bidens 47 years in Public Service compared to president donald trump, who brought all of that experience four years ago, and turn this economy around by cutting taxes, rolling back regulations, fighting for free and fair trade, and all of that. Host plenty more from last nights debate throughout our three hours of washington journal today in taking your phone calls washington journal today, and taking your phone calls. One person already talking about the issue of dodging questions. More on that from pedro. Several write ups about that in this mornings analysis of the events of last night. One piece taking a look at the debate saying both Vice President ial debate candidates dodged a question early about whether they would discuss procedures of president ial disability. They asked on successions plans succession plans and they pivoted. And targets axios, individual questions posed by the candidates to each other, or to each other or by the host. This is the question of the court that axios picked up. E president pence in the why it matters section, a number of democrats proposed the response to rob lukens rushing to confirm a Supreme Court justice with less than a month until the election. Does not like court packing. News, ao over to yahoo question posed about transfer of power. The Vice President skirted a question about whether donald trump would accept the results of the election. If we have a free and fair election, we will have confidence in it. I believe President Trump will be reelected for four years. More of these Available Online as part of the analysis of last nights debate. Host this is reginald waiting in washington, d. C. On the line for those who support the biden harris ticket. Caller good morning. Saw a different just like you are watching a different football game, i saw senator harris take over. She was commanding, she was a with there transparent people we were looking at. Ishink what im not hearing all of the coronavirus you have pens, the one supposed to be in charge of all of this pence, the one supposed to be in charge of all of this. At the white house, you have people thatthing contracted coronavirus with poor behavior of handling the coronavirus. The president , he is doing the same thing. He came out of the office to wait to the people. He gets home, gets out of the hospital in to the three days two to three days. Im reading reports that the reason why doctors can be straight is that he had his doctors, they had to sign nondisclosure forms. Think that she handled herself , and with hericy law background, attorney general background, she pretty much surprised that she certainly could handle the wave of the office if it came to that. Host thats reginald in d. C. On President Trump health and doctors. From the wall street journal , the president is on the mend according to his doctors. He has gone 24 hours without coronavirus symptoms in a memo released yesterday. In fourot had a fever days, oxygen saturation, respiratory rates were stable. The bloodwork from monday showed detectable levels of covid19 antibodies, the doctor said. It will be several days before a broader prognosis on President Trumps recovery is known. David in oxford, ohio. Next on the line for those undecideds. Forer thank you so much your delivery of unbiased content, number one. Cspan is fantastic on so many levels. Host appreciate that. Caller yes, i wanted to comment. Im undecided mainly because i think reginald brought up the nfl and i will parlay off of that. There is really no difference in our twoparty system. Down, somely drill of us dont have to drill down, you have the afc and nfc who have similar agendas. They are evading, in this case, last nights, they evade questions. These are two individuals albeit intelligent. These are people i would not invite to my backyard barbecue. They were asked explicit stions about the moderator questions. I thought the moderator did as well as she could, given the circumstances. It is a gross disservice to the American People that this one debate, the only debate the vp candidates are going to have, debated great questions. It is almost nauseating. Host we will stay in the Buckeye State of ohio, up to dayton. This is on the line for those who support President Trump and Vice President pence. Go ahead. Caller good morning. Thank you so much for taking my call. First of all, i think it is wrong to have this virus as even part of these debates. This administration did not create, or release, this virus. By theginal predictions two doctors, burks and faucher, dr. Birx and dr. Fauci, have over 2 Million People dying. Over 200,000 is not pleasant to think about at all, but we have no idea where we would be had different decisions been made. Host can i ask you on the issue of coronavirus you are bringing up here, i want to get your washington journal live every eastern. 00 a. M. We will show you last nights Vice President ial debate in just a bit here on cspan. First we take you live to a new s conference with House Speaker nancy pelosi
