So weve had a big day in the stock market. Things are coming back and theyre coming back very rapidly. A lot sooner than people thought. People are feeling good about our country. People are feeling good about therapeutics and possible about therapeutics and possible vaccines. Quite going to go over a a bit and may be to questions if we have time and its not too hot. Today i signed legislation and an executive order to hold china accountable for its oppressive actions against the people of hong kong. Hong kong economy act, which i signed this afternoon, passed unanimously through congress. Law gives my administration powerful new tools to hold responsible the individuals and entities involved in extinguishing hong kongs freedom. We have watched what happened. Not a good situation. Their freedom has been taken away. Their rights have been taken away. And with it goes hong kong, in my opinion, because it will no longer be able to compete with free markets. A lot of people will be leaving hong kong. And we are going to do more business because of it, because we just lost one competitor. That is the way it is. We lost a very, very serious competitor, a competitor that will be incentivized to take a lot of business and to do well. And we give them a lot of business by doing what we did. We gave them things that nobody else had the right to do, and that gave them a big edge over other markets. And because of that edge, they have done historic business, tremendous business, far bigger than anybody would have thought years ago when we did this gift. It was really a gift. Today i also signed an executive order ending u. S. President ial u. S. Preferential treatment for hong kong. Hong kong will now be treated the same as mainland china, no special privileges, no special economic treatment and no export of sensitive technologies. In addition, we are placing massive tariffs and have placed very large tariffs on china, first time that has ever happened, billions of dollars have been paid to the United States, of which i have given quite a bit to the farmers and ranchers of our country because they were targeted. And that has been going on for three years. First time anybody has done anything like that. And prior to the plague pouring in from china, they were having the worst year in 67 years. I dont want them to have a bad year. I want them to have a good year. But they were taking advantage of the United States for many, many years. And that is stopping. But then the virus came in and the world was a different place, but we are now getting back in the marcus to his and the market is almost at the point it was not prior to the plate, almost. We are getting very close. It is a great thing. It is an amazing thing, what our people have done at what they have endured. No administration has been tougher on china than this administration. We have imposed historic tariffs. We stood up to chinas intellectual property theft that a level nobody has ever come close. We confronted untrustworthy Chinese Technology and telecom providers. We convinced many countries, many countries, and i did this awei,f, not to use hu because we think it is a big security risk. It is a big security risk. I talked many countries out of using it. If you want to do business with us, you cant use it. Just today, i believe the u. K. Announced that they are not going to be using it. It was up in the year for a long time, but they have decided. Look at italy, you look at many other countries. We withdrew from the chinese and we fully rebuilt the United States military. Who, world health organization, we were paying close to 500 million a year. China was paying 39 million a year. Too much say. They worked it very hard, which is a bad thing done by our past administrations. We were tied off and i was saying, i was asking, why are we paying so much more than china . China has 1. 4 billion people. We have 325, probably 320 5 million approximately. Nobody can give the exact count. Where trying to get an exact count, you have over the years many illegals who have come into the country, so it depends on how you want to count it, but you could say 300 25 million to 350 million people, as opposed to 1. 4 billion people. And the world trade is terrible. That deal is terrible. The world health is a terrible deal. We have been very tough in the world trade organization, i guess as tough as you can on world health. We withdrew our money. We told them we are getting out. Doesnt mean someday we wont go back in, maybe we will when it is correctly run. But they made a lot of bad predictions that they set a lot of bad things about what to do and how to do it and they turned out to be wrong. And they were really a puppets of china. And make no mistake, we hold china fully responsible for concealing the virus and unleashing it upon the world. They could have stopped it. They should have stopped it. It would have been very easy to do at the source when it happened. In contrast, joe bidens entire career has been a gift to the Chinese Communist party and said the calamity of errors that they made. They made so many errors. And it has been devastating for the american worker. Out hundreds of billions of dollars a year from our country, and we rebuilt china, give them all the credit in the world. I dont give the credit to the people who used to stand here, because they allowed this to happen, where hundreds of billions of dollars were taken out of the United States treasury in order to rebuild china. No company and no country in the world, no country in the world has ever ripped off the United States like the did onble job that they this country and the people that ran it. Theibly it is one of reasons, certainly one of the big reasons trade, things related to trade, that i got selected in the first place. I have been talking about it for a long time, along with many other subjects. We would have had to have done things that would have been unbelievably destructive to our country, including the possible closing of 25 of our businesses. Think of that. And it was going to cost us hundreds of hundreds of millions of dollars for the purpose of being involved in the paris climate record climate accord. And you just have to look at what took place this year in paris and in france, where money was being sent to countries all over the world, and the people of france didnt want to take it and they didnt and they did a lot of rioting. Had their taxes raised. We would have had to raise our taxes, and it was a disaster. I have been having a lot of credit for what i get there. It took a certain amount of courage, because it sounds so ,ice, the Paris Climate Accord but it wasnt good for us at all. America lost nearly 10,000 factories while jill biden was Vice President. Think of that. 10,000 factories. He wrote something today and made a statement i wrote down. It is pretty accurate. Years, theere for 47 last eight years, not long ago, as Vice President he said, one in five miles of our highways are still in poor condition. Well, we are doing a good job on highways. But why did teeth fix them three years ago why didnt he fix them . Why didnt he fix them three years ago . Tens of thousands of bridges are in disrepair and under virtue of collapse. Why didnt he fix them . He was there for eight years with president obama, why didnt they fix them . This is what he wrote. Highspeed broadband. Wrotepeed broadband, he well, why didnt he get it . Three years ago wasnt a long time and he didnt do any of the things but now he says he is going to be president , and as president , he is going to do all the things he didnt do. He never did anything except make very bad decisions, especially on foreign policy. We would have lost, dr. Fauci said we would have lost thousands of additional people if President Trump hadnt done that. And i was a crowd of one, because even experts didnt do that. They thought it was a mistake. And then when i started seeing what was going on in italy and spain and france and other countries in europe, i did a ban on people coming in from europe. That would have been disastrous for our country. We saved tens of thousands of lives, but it we actually saved millions of lives but we actually saved millions of lives by closing up, potentially millions of lives. Could be the number we are actually working on but it could be 2 million to 3 million lives. So we are at 130 5000, which is terrible. One is too much. But we would have had millions of people dead from this curse that came at us. But we did what we had to do, and now we will put out the flames as it happens. We have to get the schools open. We have to get everything open. A lot a people dont want to do that for political reasons, not for the reasons. But if we listened to joe biden, hundreds of thousands of additional lives would have been lost. And if you look at the job he did on swine fluke, i looked at they poll, they have poles on everything nowadays and they got very bad marks on the job they did on these lines. Ihi. There wasnt one person in any hospital anywhere in this country that needed a ventilator that didnt get it. And that was because we mobilized to a level using the purchasing act in some cases, we mobilized to a level nobody thought possible. Nothing has happened like that since world war ii. Our task force has done a great job. Mike pence works so hard and gets so little credit, sad to see that, actually, but he works so hard and gets so little credit. The governors would tell us that he would be on the phone with 50 different governors and the governors would all say, great job, great job, and then they would do they would go to the media and say, they didnt do such a great job. We made a lot of governors look fantastic. What we did in new york was one of the most incredible things. 2800 beds at Javits Center, but the governor used very few unfortunately. Then we moved in a great hospital ship, we moved one also to los angeles, and we could have used that for our Senior Citizens. We could have used it for other people. They could have used it instead of sending our seniors back in Nursing Homes that were infected, where you lost thousands of people. Thousands of people in new york died because of poor management by the governor. And it is a very sad thing to see, and very sad to watch and very sad to look at those statistics. An incredible Javits Center that we built with thousands of beds, i think it was 2800 already to go 2800, all ready to go. And they could have sent Senior Citizens there instead of sending them into the Nursing Homes. And after all of that were getting it done, the army corps of engineers, the job they did was incredible, they built it in a matter of days. When it was all completed, fema, everybody was there, doctors, we ended up getting doctors, they said we cant man it and they said we will man it and woman it and that is what we get. Nurses,ht in doctors, everything, we were all set, we said where are the people . They didnt send the people. Very few people came. They could have sent them to the Javits Center. They could have sent up to the hospital ship, which was virtually unused. But we were there. By contrast, my administration acted very early to been trouble from china from europe, saving all these lives. Incredible. And i want everyone to know, i want every citizen to know that we are using the full power of the federal government to fight the china virus and to keep our people safe. That is by empowering judges to determine appropriate sentences by fighting to repeal mandatory minimums at the federal level and give states incentives to repeal their mandatory minimums. We can go on for days. Incentivize prison closure. They want to close our prisons. They now want to abolish they want to abolish our police departments. They want to abolish our prisons, i guess, incentivize jail and prison closures as populations decline. Ensure the resources saved are invested directly into those communities. So they want to close them rather than have them for some very bad people, people that are not going to behave when they get out. You see that in new york. They allowed a lot of criminals out and those criminals are causing havoc, and then they got rid of their incredible and badndary crime squad and things are happening in new york. Bad things are happening. I love new york. I hate to see what is going on. End solitary confinement. Housing for former inmates. Federal housing now can go to inmates, former inmates. Rejoin Paris Climate Accord. And seek an even higher level of restrictions. I did not notice that. I see. They want to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord and they want to seek an even higher level of restraint. In other words, make it worse than it was. Mandate zero Carbon Emissions for homes, offices in all New Buildings by 2030. That basically means no windows, no nothing. It is very hard to do. I tell people when they want to go into some of these buildings, how are your eyes . Because they will not be good in five years. Colde you do not mind office space in the winter and warm office space in the summer because your air conditioning is not the same as the good old days. Mandate zero Carbon Emissions from power plants by 2035. Zero. We are talking about zero. Nothing can go in the air. Mandate net zero Carbon Emissions by 2050. I believe he is changing that. He is bringing it down. He wants no petroleum product, no oil or gas. I dont think texas will do too well. They will get rid of about 7 million jobs if you go by the biden plan. I dont think that oklahoma, north dakota, pennsylvania are going to be too happy with that, and many other states, ohio. Mandate all 500,000 school buses and all 3 million government vehicles be changed to zero emission vehicles within five years. I have heard of worse than that. 500,000 taxpayerfunded charging stations nationwide. Here is a bad one, really bad one. End School Choice. That thenothing Africanamerican Community wants more than School Choice. And mothers and fathers are going to be very happy to see him be defeated just on that alone. End School Choice. So joe biden wants to end School Choice. End tax credit scholarships serving disadvantaged students in 26 states, oppose 14 million americans with education savings accounts, and get rid of School Choice having to do with School Choice. Eliminate School Choice in washington, d. C. You know what they have done in washington. I have some incredible examples right here. I know of one example. I think they have a number of them, but one is incredible. Abolish all Charter Schools. Charter schools are doing great. Forfunding ban funding Charter Schools in poor neighborhoods. That is not fair. Standards. Cational abolish in the suburbs, you are going to abolish the suburbs. Obamabidens radical affh, the regulation that threatens to strip localities of federal Affordable Housing funds unless they change their zoning laws to fit the federal governments demands, so what you have i have been watching this for years in westchester, coming from new york they want low Income Housing built in a neighborhood. I am ending that rule. I am taking it out. I spoke with ben carson the other day. We are going to be taking it out. I watched that whole thing going now. They want to make it twice as bad in the suburbs, in the suburbs. Mothers are not happy about that. Fathers are not happy about that. They worked hard to buy a house, and now, they are going to watch the housing values drop like a rock and that has happened. Drop like a rock. So we are not going to do that. We are going to do the exact opposite. Probably, there has never been a time, and this is it is much worse. We did this very quickly. It has there has probably never been a time when candidates are so different. We want now in order. They do not want law and order. We want strong close quarters with people able to come in through merit, through a legal process. They dont want to have any borders at all. They will rip down the wall. It was hard to get that built, and now, it is almost completed. It will be complete by a little after the end of the year. They want to rip it down and it has had such an impact. It is incredible. Womenps trafficking of and children, but women mostly. Human trafficking, one of the worst things ever. All at a level that it has never been that because of the internet. You think of it as an ancient statement. You would not think that is possible today but Human Trafficking of women and to letn, and they want that continue. The wall has stopped it so much because they will go over to a section where there are not people, not an entry point, and they will make a left into the United States. They are on their way. They cannot do that anymore. We have a 30 foot wall that goes six feet into the ground. It stops a lot of the tunneling because they are pretty good at tunnels. We watched the tunnels and we have equipment for that. Left anymoreke a and come into the United States, loaded up with human traffic, so they want to take down the wall. They want to have open borders. Think of open borders today with the pandemic. I mean, the timing is sort of interesting, with the pandemic. So theres never been a time were so candidates different. I mean, i have seen moments where its like the same exact platforms. I am even talking about essentially democrat, republican, not much difference. Theres a little difference but not much. Choose one because you like the way they look. You like the way they sound. You like the way they talk. You like something about one and you dont like the other. You know, there has never been a difference. Here is one of the greatest differences. This is without a question the biggest single difference if you want law and order. For instance, i enacted recently, when i saw what was going on with federal monuments, we do not have the right to do states although we are trying to find it, but with the monuments, where they wanted to rip down andrew jackson, they wanted to rip down george washington, they were actually heading over to the jefferson memorial, if you can believe that. But this has been going on. Used found an act that we and we have many people in jail right now, many, many people in jail, all over the country, because they tried to destroy, ain some cases, got it down federal statue or monument. We have not had anybody making a move since i enacted this. I signed an executive order couple of weeks ago and it says very simply 10 years in jail. You do it, 10 years in jail. The amazing part is we are able to catch everybody because, thanks to all of you on television, we appreciate it, but we have pictures. We have the man standing on Andrew Jacksons horse. We have the man standing by general george washington. We have everybody standing. The were going to go for emancipation proclamation. Abraham lincoln standing with a young man who is being freed and we said we are going to do something. We cannot let this happen. It can be removed at some point. You go through a process, a legal process, go through a congress. Whatever. I understand that. At the same time, some people like these statues and monuments, but it can be removed, but you have to go through a legal process. They are going to have 20 to 25,000 people that night. Nobody showed up. You know that because you were disappointed to see that. The next night, i believe 22 people showed up. They said we are going to make it friday night instead, and 22 people showed up. Four were arrested because we have pictures of them knocking down all the statues so they are in jail now. So there has never been an election where we have had this kind of difference. We want strong borders. Without borders, you have heard me say at 1000 times. Without borders, you do not have a country. They dont want borders. They want to have open borders. It is radical left and it will destroy our country. 20 years ago, venezuela was a very rich country, one of the richest, one of the richest anywhere. Per capita, one of the richest. Tremendous oil reserves. Now, they do not have water, they do not have food, they do not have medicine. We do everything we can to take care of the people, but they have nothing. Ideologyis exactly the that you have going over here. If i was not there to stop it, if i was not here to say no way, that is not going to happen, we would be in some mess. We would be in some mass. And pelosi and schumer and bernie and joe, they will never stop it. They do not have the power, the strength to stop it. It is beyond them, but we do. So there has never been a time like this where you have had an election of people, so different. A couple of questions. Please. Go ahead. You spent the better part of an hour extending why americans should choose you and not your opponent. Yesterday you said on twitter, be careful what you wish for. The question is, do you see yourself as the underdog in this race . Do you see yourself losing in the fall . Pres. Trump we have really good phone numbers. They are real polls. You look at the intercoastal in florida, you look at the lengths, you see thousands of votes with trump science, american science, you have the trump pens sign all over. You look at what is going on. You look at bikers. For miles and miles, riding up highways with their signs. We want a race where was the same thing, 2016. We had polls that were fake. They turned out to be fake. Not all. A couple of them got it right. Three of them to be exact. Three of them. One of them was unsuspecting, but they got it right. They were very proud of it. 2016, something even more so, but we got in and we to 223, which was a tremendous margin of difference. They all said he cannot get to 270 p and i went to maine a couple of times where we freed up lobster fishing and fishing because they took away 5000 square miles for may and i opened it up and i got rid of tariffs in china and we are working on European Union, which charge our fishermen tariffs and said we are not going to do that. If you take a look, we went up there recently. There were crowds. Thousands of people lined up going to a factory where we were opening up for making swamps of beautiful factory making swamps. I think the enthusiasm now is greater and may be far greater than it was in 2016. I think a lot of people do not want to talk about it. I think they are not going to say, hey, i am for trump. I am for trump. They do not want to go through the process and i fully understand that because the process is not fair. The media does not treat us fairly. They never have, and perhaps they never will, but maybe they will win many turn this around will when we turn this around for a second time. Maybe they will. Very well are doing in the polls and i think you have a silent majority the likes of which this country has never seen before. This is a very important election. We have done a great job. We had to turn it off, as i said maternity off, and now, we have started it again. As you know, they announced two weeks ago record job numbers to almost 5 million people. That last month which was also a record, 2. 8 billion people. Nobody has ever done what we have done and now, we are doing it twice. I think by election day, you are going to see some incredible numbers. The Third Quarter is going to be really good. Fourthquarter is going to be great. Next year is going to be one of the best economic years. Hopefully, i will be able to be the president where we say look at the great job i did. I think we have a great chance at i think we are going to have a lot of people show up. I am very worried about mailin voting because i think it is subject to tremendous fraud and being rigged. You see that in edison, 20 of the vote was fraudulent. All sorts of things happened. I understand a mailman was recently indicted someplace for playing games with the mailin ballots. Fraud if youendous do these mailin ballots. Absentee ballots are ok because absentee ballots, you have to get applications, you have to go through a process. If i am here and i vote in florida, you get an absentee ballot but you have to go through a process. Absentee ballots are great pyrenees mailin voting, waita governor mills millions of ballots to people all over the ande, california, millions millions of ballots, and then they come back, they do not come back, who got them . Did you forget to send them to a republican area or a democrat area . I guess you could say. But if you take a look at all of fraud that hase been involved with mailin voting over the last short period, look at paterson, new jersey. It was a massive era and a massive miscalculation and there was incredible fraud. Look at the city council. What has happened to it . This was one place but you have many places, and they are all over. Yes, please . I want to know, when is the last time you spoke with president xi of china and do you plan to speak with him in the near future . Pres. Trump i have no plan to speak to him. Thank you. They just do not treat us very well on trade. Usy have been very unfair to over many, many decades, and we are doing that. It is very easy to solve. I was all set to solve it and then we got hit with the plague. We have a travel ban on various countries and that remains until such time as we say it does not. We want our country safe. We do not, unlike hyden, we dont want to have biden, we dont want criminals pouring into our country, we dont want to have open borders. We want to take care of our police paid we want to actually fund our police, not defund them. We are not going to make our military small and weak because probably or at least at top of the level, we need our military right now. Go ahead please. How do you think that the America First policy can work during a pandemic . Arent you concerned that this can actually damage the u. S. And make china more influential around the world . Pres. Trump my policy is America First. We have lost hundreds of billions of dollars a year with china and many other countries. Doing is handing everybody everything. It is just sad. I have watched it. I have looked at it. We did the u. S. Mexico usmca. We made a very fair deal nontraded, the worst deal ever. You know that. We had the worst deal ever, and it replaced that. It replaced that horrible nafta deal that was one of the worst trade deals ever made. I will tell you, the only deal that might be worse is the wto, wto. It may be worse. Please. Thank you, mr. President. Patient has taken tangible steps year administered and has taken steps to ensure Chinese Companies are not taking advantage of our u. S. Stock markets. Last week, your administration sent a letter to the Railroad Retirement board asking them to reconsider investments in Chinese Defense firms. Pres. Trump meaning not to invest. Thats correct. Where is that request now and are you taking tangible action to ensure that u. S. Investments do not continue to fund defense firms in china . Pres. Trump you will see more coming. This was a very important bill that we signed. You will see more coming over the next short period of time. We do not want them investing in Chinese Military companies, ok . What actions can be taken to ensure that is not happening . Pres. Trump we have a lot of actions we can take including the increase in right now, people do not know, china is paying a lot of cash. The thirdhighest amount of corn ever in world history, they just bought from us. The highest amount, which is great for our farmers, but i view it differently than i did before i made the deal. When i made the deal, i thought this was a great deal. After what happened to us, what happened to the world, coming from china, i view it much differently but we can impose massive tariffs on china if we want, and other countries if we want. And we will see. We want to be treated fairly. We want a level playing field. Our farmers were ever treated properly by anybody and they were targeted by china. Billionur farmers 28 over a twoyear period because they were targeted to that amount of money, to that exact amount of money. It was 16 billion, then it was 12 billion, 28 billion dollars over a twoyear period. We gave 28 billion to our farmers. That is why they are all here and now, we are doing very well. We made really great trade deals. Less mca just kicked in. The china deal, they are buying a lot, buying a lot. They are buying a lot. A lot of people ask how are they doing on the trade deal . They are buying a lot. I want to thank everybody. We will be having these conferences again. We will be signing an immigration act very soon. It will be based on merit. It will be very strong. We are going to work on daca because we want to make people happy. Even conservative republicans want to see something happen with daca. The democrats had their chance for three years to do something with daca, and they always turned it down. They used it as politics appeared i am using it to get something done. We will be signing a very powerful immigration act. It will be great. It will be meritbased. The countries tried to get it for 25 or 30 years. It will be strong on the border, but you will come in legally and you will be able to come in legally. Very importantly, we will be taking care of people from daca in a very republican way. I have spoken to many republicans and some would like to leave it out but really, they understand that it is the right thing to do so we will be taking care of daca.
