Im personally thrilled you took the time to come see this new facility which has been so instrumental in the fight against covid19. It is an honor to have the president here today. Just a couple of facts about this facility. It normally takes nine months to open this facility. We accomplish that in five weeks. [applause] additionally, combined with a facility open in rhode island, we will make 20 Million Masks a month, a tremendous amount that will help those on the front lines, and we could not be more thrilled. [applause] masks,t beyond just honeywell does a lot of other things to help in the fight. Whether it be eyewear, shields, gloves. We have more than doubled our capacity for those items. Also, we make sensors for modulators where we increased our capacity a factor of five x. We are humbled we can help those on the front lines fighting the battle day today. You inspire us on a daily basis. Honeywell could not be more proud to help you in that fight every day. [applause] it is now my honor to introduce the president of the United States, donald trump. [applause] caller pres. Trump thank you. Thank you very much, everyone. It is a Great Company and an honor to be with you and we traveled with darius. He is a great man and a tremendous businessman. I am happy to be here in the fantastic state of arizona. I love arizona. [applause] i had some good moments here, especially on election day. It was a good moment, right . They are incredibly patriotic and hardworking men and women of honeywell. Moments ago, we saw the production lines where you are making highquality n95 respirators and they are made to perfection. There are no bad masks like various countries have been sent some very bad masks from other places. There is nothing like that at honeywell. Respirators are there to protect our heroic doctors and nurses as they fight the unseen enemy. More than 150 honeywell employees are working three shifts around the clock six days per week. You are the greatest industrial and think at this, what you have done. You are part of this incredible industrial mobilization. The biggest sense world war ii, hard to believe, for an invisible enemy. But it is a vicious enemy, a smart enemy. Like the generations before you, the workers of this factory are pouring their heart and soul and led into defending our nation and keeping our people healthy and safe. You make america proud. You really do, and i want to thank you very much. That is why i am here. I want to thank also the entire Leadership Team at honeywell , including darius who is a fantastic man. Ann madden, mike madsen, jim carroll, william lang, tony stallings. In normal times it would take months to stand up one facility like this, but honeywell has built this in less than five weeks, creating 500 new jobs in arizona and another 500 jobs in rhode island. Together, these new factories will soon produce more than 20 million n95 respirators every single month, a truly miraculous achievement. We are grateful to be joined by secretary of labor, jean scalia and governor doug ducey. What a fantastic governor he is. Where is doug . Thank you, doug. [applause] you are doing a fantastic job. He already won his election by 17 points, so i dont have to praise him too much, but i will say that he has been a fantastic governor and you people recognize it. Thats why he had what they say is a walk. Thats very good. We are proud of you, doug. Anything we can do, youre going to call me. We dont have to worry about that. He calls me plenty. He calls me plenty. Because he is doing his job. I want to thank you both, and jean, you are doing a fantastic job. Thank you both very much. We appreciate it. Thank you. [applause] i also want to express my appreciation to senator martha mcsally. Fantastic person. Fantastic person. [applause] she is fighting to uncover the full truth about the china situation and how the who handled the outbreak and what happened. There must be transparency and accountability. Martha is also somebody who is bringing tremendous amounts of dollars back to her state that she loves so much, the state of arizona. I know the governor appreciates it very much. And i appreciated. You are doing a fantastic job and good luck. Thank you to betty and jorge, Mexican Grill and catalina. They are around here someplace. They are great. Come on up here. Come on. Say a couple of words. I tell you, these people. I saw them on television. [applause] i saw them on television, they were being devastated by what happened. I put out a simple tweet saying what wonderful people they are, and they became very rich. They have lines that went around the block. Say a few words, please. Come on. There is a mic right here. I cant believe i have to socially distance myself from these two people. They are probably the ones that want it from me. Mr. President , we thank you very much. I think youre doing a great job. I think we represent a lot of the Latino Community that is very proud of the job you are doing. And i think, most of us, or all of us, latinos are going to vote for you, because we think youre doing a very good job. I thank you for the support you have given us. And my wife and i are very happy. And, what else can i say . Thank you. Pres. Trump i really appreciate it. That is beautiful. Go ahead. Beautiful. [speaking spanish] latinos love trump. Pres. Trump thank you very much. That is fantastic. So today, they took care of 150 healthcare workers at an assisted living facility in tucson and they have been helping people here get good food and they are sending donald trump the bill. I cant write it off to the government because they would that. Would not like make sure you get me that bill. They are two terrific people. I saw them on television and now they are doing terrific. They have lines of people wanting to get in. Food is supposed to be fantastic. To defeat the virus, we are harnessing the unrivaled power of american industry. We are using the defense production act to manufacture additional ventilators on top of our fastgrowing national supply. We have mobilized our country. Ventilators are very hard to make, very complex, big, expensive. And we are now at a point where everybody in this country who has needed a ventilator has gotten it, especially here in arizona. Everywhere. Doug had some extra and he sent ones them to other places who need help. We have gotten ventilators to everybody. Now we are helping other nations and we are using them for stockpiles, in case this horror show happens again. But not a single american who has needed it, i am so proud of that, because when we started with, i use the expression, the cupboards were bare. That means a lot of things. We are doing something verger medic. There hasnt been anything like what we have done since world war ii. We have dramatically accelerated development of new therapies and potential vaccines. Johnson johnson, oxford, great places. We have 90 Clinical Trials underway and hundreds more on the way, and something is going to happen. Tremendous progress is being made. I dont want to talk about it until it is there. We dont want to talk to soon, but doug, they really are. Darius, they really are making progress. You know some of them. They are great companies. The Johnson Johnson folks have been really fantastic. They want to get to a fast. So we will see how it all comes out, and we will all know very soon, and i think it is going to be a positive event. Through fema, hhs, and our private partners, were equipping our frontline medical workers with more than 70 million n95 respirators, 112 million surgical masks, 7 million face shields, 18 million gowns, and nearly one billion gloves. Today, we hear from a few of honeywells extraordinary workers who are leading the charge to equip our Health Care Heroes and marshall our manufacturing might that is what it is it is a manufacturing might that we have not seen for a long time. Bruno worked at another company for 22 years, but he jumped at support america and americas war against the virus, right here at honeywell. I resigned with the boeing company after so many years to be part of the honeywell team. Here at honeywell, they treat you right. It is a great culture, great people. Mr. President , god bless america, right . Thank you. [applause] job, bruno. Great i appreciate it. The next time i am here, we will shake hands and hug each other. Ok, bruno . Thank you very much. Ursula is a proud veteran who courageously served her nation in afghanistan and all around the world. Now, she is continuing her legacy of service right here in phoenix. Ursula, tell us why you chose [applause] good afternoon. My name is ursula warner. I am the Operations Supervisor here at honeywell for the n95 site. I have served our country for over 20 years in the United States air force. [applause] of those 20 years, i spent 15 years in leadership and management positions. Like the president said, i toured afghanistan and a few tours in iraq and i was with the department of army and air force for that. I just retired this march, and i had a different plan. After my retirement ceremony, i saw that the n95 site was standing up, and what it was for the first responders, i decided i wanted to be a part of that. A part of something bigger, to continue to serve this country in a different facet. I would like to thank the leadership and honeywell to provide different opportunity for the people in phoenix and also me specifically, the opportunity to continue to serve my country on a bigger aspect. Thank you. [applause] she was retired for about two days. [laughter] look how young you are. Retired. Thank you very much. Great job, ursula. Eric parks is a marine corps veteran and the Operations Manager at the honeywell facility. It is a highly personal mission for eric. His mother is a nurse, his motherinlaw is a nurse, his brother is a paramedic and his daughter is about to start her first year of medical school at the university of arizona, that is one of the great schools. Eric, please come up. [applause] good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is eric parks and i am the Operations Manager at this facility. First and foremost i would like to thank mr. Trump for giving this nation the resources, leadership, and guidance that we have needed to navigate through these unprecedented times. Times. Thank you. [applause] secondly, i want to thank honeywell for giving me the opportunity to serve my country again. It tells me with pride to know that the masks we are producing lowbudget go to first line responders to help them combat the war against covid19. This is very personal for me. My mother and motherinlaw are nurses. My brother is a combat veteran and paramedic and my daughter has decided that she will Carry Forward the Family Tradition of serving. The black shirts that the team here is wearing says the future is what you make it. I am very honored to be part of the team that is when to make going to make the future safer, not only for my family , but for others as well. Thank you. [applause] thank you. As you know, this terrible plague has inflicted great hardships on our people. We mourn for every life lost. We pray for every victim. We shoulder this burden together as one people, one family, one a Great American nation. Thanks to the profound commitment of our citizens, we have flatten the curve and countless lives have been saved. Our country is now in the next stage of the battle, a very safe phase and gradual reopening of our country. Who would have ever thought we would say that . Reopening. Reopening. One day they came to us and they said, we will have to close it down, we had the greatest economy in history. Darius can tell you about that. The greatest economy we have ever had, the best employment numbers. Most number of jobs, almost 160 million jobs, we were never close to that. They said we had to close it down. It is a terrible thing. Now, we are reopening and it is going to be special. Were going to have a transition time in the third quarter. The Fourth Quarter is going to be very good. Next year, we will have one of the strongest years we have had in a long time. That is my ambition to get it back. Do not only where it was, but to beyond where it was. I want to thank the people at this incredible plant. I have been talking about that for a long time. Oftentimes, you see a plant like this in a different country doing the work you can be doing and you can do it better. The United States declared its independence nearly 250 years ago, but in recent decades, washington politicians allowed our independence to be all offshore outsourced and , seated to foreign countries. We are taking it back and we have been taking it back. If you look at our job numbers, you knew that we were taking it back. We got up to almost 160 million, something had to be happening. One of the things that happened was we were taking it back. We know it matters where something is made, and we want essential medicine, supplies, and equipment to be manufactured, produced, and made right here in the good old usa. My administration believes in two simple rules. By american and hire american. Honeywell workers helped make america the worlds greatest manufacturing superpower. It is a Great Company and it played a big role. In the 21st century, right here in phoenix, arizona, you are reclaiming the noble heritage and writing the next chapter of this incredible american story, and you have a great governor to lead your way. You have a great senator to lead your way. A lot of people are leaving leading the way. Ofis the men and women honeywell whose craftsmanship made it possible for Charles Lindbergh to fly across the atlantic and for Amelia Earhart to break boundaries. It was the men and women of honeywell built the periscopes, motorcycles, and other systems that powered American Workers as they fought tierney in the second world war. It was the unstoppable workers right here in honeywell that helped our brave astronauts plant our American Flag on the face of the moon. We are getting ready to do it again. We are really using the men as a landing pad toward our journey together to mars, it is happening very soon. Now, it is one more time for the men and women of honeywell who are supplying the weapons, the armor, the sweat and skill in a war to defeat the new and invisible enemy, a tough and smart enemy. Nobody is like us and nobody is tough like us. I said it before, i will say it again. The people of our country are warriors. With your help, we will vanquish the virus and build a future of greatness and glory. With american heart, american hands, american pride, and american soul.
