Looking for a scene to principate him in is very isolating for an adult with an intellectual disability. There is no mandate. We had the americans disability act that says you are welcome here. That is not mean anybody is reaching out to try to bring these people in. The act is powerful in its simplicity. Will ensure people with disabilities are given the basic guarantees for which they have worked so long and so hard. We were very fortunate to have it. The government doing enough, i think that comes down to funding. We could always use more money. There is nothing we can do to change human nature. There are good people in the world and there will always be cruel people in the world. The more owners and Business Managers are educated to the benefits of hiring someone with a disability, the more phone calls we get from businesses. How can we seek people out and employ them . People might just need to change the job a little bit. Maybe not work a whole day, half day jobs shared. They look at a persons talents and say, you are good at this. How about you do this part of the job and this other person will do the other party. The level of community they have showed to their employers enter the workplace, much less likely to mess work. They like to work. They want to be out. They love coming to work. They never do not show up. My idea for a company was to people with a disability. Im going to manage to their strengths. Im going to put them in an environment where they are successful. It ishey are successful, a winwin. Intellectual disability for instance, managing them is no different than managing anybody else. It is the same thing within a workforce. That feeling, you are seeing value in others. That permeates throughout your business. Transition shows the of people with disabilities in the workforce is high. Tend toget a job, they stick by their employer. They are more functional. They take fewer sick days. They take fewer vacation days. Jobs. Them keep their that is much better than people without a disability. Truly making a difference every single day. Us from a state of tolerating differences to a state of accepting them and embracing them. It is still the whole big thing is making sure there is equal pay. There was a law passed by the federal government in order to allow businesses to pay less. What i would call subminimum wage to people with disabilities. That law is still in place and is still allowable in our country for people i disabilities. There are sheltered workshops that are providing employment to people with disabilities at dollars per day. The sheltered workshop has been around since the 1950s. There has been all sorts of real jobs for a dollar or a quarter an hour. Maybe theyre going to be wrapping soap. One of our competitors uses one of the workshops to wrap all of their soap. We pay people real wages. That ait even legal substratum of our population is excluded from men among way . If i value you, i am going to pay you appropriately. If they are segregated with sub men among wage, we can help that person survive in this world. I say people are people are people. When you have a company like this, it challenges and it brings to mind to parents and to people with disabilities they need to lock up at the horizon and think about the full life.
