People are people are people are people. Did not young people the opportunities they want that has because they cannot even imagine that people with disabilities can be successful. Despite some progress, discrimination continues to be a serious and pervasive social problem. Isolating for an adult with an intellectual disability. I think that is because in society there is no mandate. Had the americans with disability act that says you are welcome here and we will accommodate you, but that does not mean anyone is reaching out and trying to bring people in. It is powerful in its simplicity i think it all comes down to funding. We could always use more money. There is nothing you can do to change human nature. Unfortunately there are cruel people in the world. The more Business Owners and Business Managers are educated to the benefit of hiring someone with a disability the more phone calls we get and businesses partnering with us. Andow can we see people out employed them where people might just need to change the job a little bit and the things they require, maybe not work a full day. They look at us, a person talent and say you are really good at this, how about you do this part of the job. The level of commitment people with disabilities show to their employers and to the work lace, much less likely to miss work. They are the best employees. They like to work, they love being out. They never did not show up. Tomy idea for a company was manage peoples ability, and no matter their iq, i am going to manage to their strength and im going to put them in an environment where they can be successful because when they are successful, they are better at their job and it serves me better and they are happier, so it is a winwin. Intellectual disability, for instance, managing them is really no different than managing anybody else. It is just figuring out what they are good at and what they ife to do, and then seeing you have a job station for them. They want to work and they are great. There is not a high turnover. That people shown with and without disabilities, when they are educated together, people without the disability learn better. It is the same thing within the workforce. And that feeling like you are seeing value in others, that kind of permeates throughout your business. Data shows that the transition of people with disabilities in the workforce is high. Tend toget a job, they stick by their employer in their position. They are more punctual. They take fewer sick days. And it takes fewer vacation days. 85 of them keep their jobs for longer than three years. That is much better than people without a disability. I love everyone i work with. I am truly making a difference every single day. It moves us from a state of tolerating differences to a state of accepting them. And embracing them. It is still a whole big thing making sure theres equal pay. There was a law passed by the federal government in order to allow businesses to pay less. What i would call subminimum wage, a wage under minimum, to people with disabilities. That law is still in place, and is still allowable in our country for people with disabilities. There arere sheltered workshops providing employment for people disabilities at dollars per day. The sheltered workshops have been around for the 1950s. Real jobs for one dollar an hour. Maybe they will be wrapping us up. One of our competitors. We pay people wheel with
