In fact, we have seen plenty of examples of the kind of courage and selflessness we need to get through one of the most difficult times in our history. Michelle and i have been amazed at the incredible bravery about Health Professionals who are putting their lives on the line for others. The workers taking risks every day to keep our economy right and everyone making their own sacrifice at home with their families and all for the greater good. But if theres one thing we have learned country as a country, is that looking out for one another cannot be restricted to our homes, neighborhoods, or houses of worship. It also has to be reflected in our government. The kind of leadership that is guided by knowledge and experience, honesty and humility. Empathy and grace. It does not just to belong in our state capitals and mayors office, it belongs in the white house. Proud tohy i am so endorsed joe biden as president of the united states. Choosing joe to be my Vice President was one of the best decisions i ever made and he became a close friend. He is someone whose own life has taught him how to persevere, how to bounce back when you have been knocked down. When he talks with parents who have lost their jobs, we hear a man who once told his parents and children that he lost his. When he talks about opportunity, we hear the young father who took the train home each night. And we hear the influence of jill, a lifelong teacher. When jill talks to families who have lost a hero, we hear a parent of an american veteran, a kindred spirit, somebody whose faith has endured the hardest loss there is. That is joe. Do all of his trials, he has never once forgot the values or moral fiber that his parents passed on to him. That is what steals his faith in god, america, and in all of us. That made him an incredible partner when i needed him most. Great there during the recession and rescued the auto industry. He was the one who asked what every policy would do for the middle class and everyone striving to get it. Asked him to implement the recovery act, saved millions of jobs and got people back on their feet. Manage h1n1 and prevent the ebola pandemic. He helped me restore americas standing in the world among the other threats of our time. Joe has the character and experience to guide us through our darkest times and heal us to a long recovery. And i know he will surround himself with good people. Experts, sciences, military officials who actually know how to run the and care about doing a good job. Allies,to work with our putting the american peoples interest about their own. Joe will be a better candidate for having run the gauntlet alongside one of the most impressive democratic fields ever. Each candidate was talented and decent with a track record of a commish meant smart ideas, and vision. True of theainly candidate who made it farther than any other, bernie sanders. Original,an american a man who devoted his life to peoplesice to working hopes, dreams, and frustrations. , butve not always agreed we have always shared a conviction that we have to make america a more just and equitable society. Both know that nothing is more powerful than one million voices calling for change. The ideas he championed, the behusiasm he inspired, will critical in moving america in a direction of progress because for the second time in 10 years, we will have the incredible task of building our economy, and to meet that moment, the Democratic Party will have to be pulled. I could not be prouder of the incredible progress we made as president , but if i were running today, i would not have the same race or same platform. The world is different. Too much Unfinished Business for us to look backwards. We have to look to the future. Bernie and joe understand that. Its one of the reasons joe already has one of the most progressive platforms of any nominee in history. Before the pandemic turned the world upside down, it was already clear that we needed real change. The massive inequalities created by the economy are easier to see now, but they existed long before the pandemic hit. The people who truly make our economy run, they have always been essential. And for years, too many who did the essential work of this country have been underpaid, financially stressed, and given too little support. That applies to the next generation of americans. Young people graduating into unprecedented unemployment. They will need economic policies that give them faith in the future and relief from crushing student loan debt. We need to do more than just tinker around the edges. We have to go further to give everybody a great education, a lasting career, and a stable retirement. We have to protect the gains we have made, its also time to go further. We should make plans affordable for everyone, provide everyone with public options. Expand medicare and finish the job so that health care is not just a right but a reality for everybody. We have to return the u. S. To the Paris Agreement and lead the world in reducing climate change. Science tells us we have to go much further. It is time for us to accelerate progress on bold, new, green ,nitiatives which make us clean save us money, and secure our future. Democrats may not agree on every detail or the best way to bring about each change, but we do agree that there needs to be change and that only happens if we win this election. Because one thing everybody has learned by now that the publicans occupying the white house are not interested in progress. They are interested in power. They have shown themselves willing to kick millions off of their Health Insurance and eliminate preexisting protection that supports millions more even in the middle of this Public Health crisis even as they are willing to spend trillions on tax cuts for the wealthy. They have given polluters Unlimited Power to poison our air and water and deny the signs of climate change, just as they denied the signs of pandemic. Repeatedly, they have disregarded american principles of rule of law and voting rights. Previous norms that administrations observe regardless of party. Principles that are the bedrock of our democracy. Future hangs on the selection. It wont be easy. The other side has a massive warchest, a Propaganda Network with little regard for the truth. On the other hand, pandemics have a way of cutting through a lot of noise and spin to remind us of what is real and important. This crisis has reminded us that government matters. Its reminded us that Good Government matters. That fact and science matters. Matters. Rule of law that having leaders who are informed and honest and seek to bring people together rather than drive them apart those kind of leaders matter in other words, elections matter. Right now, we need americans of goodwill to unite in a great thatning against a politic has been characterized by corruption, carelessness, selfdealing, misinformation, and just plain meanness. To change that, we need americans of all political stripes to get involved in our politics and public life like never before. Us who believe in building a more just and generous democratic america where everybody has a fair shot, for those of us who believe that a government that cares for the many and not just the few, for those of us who are willing to do our part to make sure this lives up to its highest ideals, now is the time to fight for what we believe. So join us. Join joe. Go to joe biden. Com right now make a plan for how you are going to get involved. Keep taking care of yourself, your families, and each other. Keep believing and the possibilities of a better world and i will see you on the campaign trail as soon as i can. Next. Thanks. , but our mission continues, to provide an unfiltered view of government.
