Because of covid19 in colorado. These numbers are growing. While we stayathome and the work is being done in so many and so many of you are staying home and Wearing Masks to go out, that is having an effect. But that is a delayed effect, so we are still expecting significant tragic loss in the days and weeks ahead. Many people who contract the after 10, 12 days, some hospitalized, some make it, some dont. Monday we took action to extend the need to stayathome to april 26. We have confidence in reaching that date, achieving that date. It depends on peoples ability to stayathome. The more people stayathome, we can hit the date sooner. If people are failing to stayathome and spreading the virus, that date could have to go longer if the deaths continue to pile up. But at this point, based on the data we have and the data that is emerging, we feel confident we can achieve that date and you can achieve that date by staying at home and wearing a mask if you absolutely have to go out. A wonderful both but also a challenging time of in different of us faith traditions. It is Easter Sunday for those in the Christian Faith. Manyver starts tonight for coloradans like myself and the jewish faith. Those who are secular or humanists often celebrate rights associated with the spring equinox that is coming soon, a week after easter. There is orthodox easter for eastern orthodox, Greek Orthodox after the christian easter. Reverend Amanda Henderson who will speak a minute about what some of the Christian Faith traditions are doing around easter in colorado and some guidance to make sure the Easter Holiday can be as meaningful for us and that coloradans can experience as much fellowship as possible around the important celebration of the resurrection without endangering themselves through physical proximity. We know that staying at home is hard, and for many of us it is even more hard with the religious holidays coming up. The Easter Holiday is one based in hope. It is about resurrection after suffering. Ad trust that there will be new, hopeful day. The jewish tradition of passover, which begins this evening, is about liberation. Be that from slavery and oppression come into the promised land. Theof course commemorating 10 plagues which were necessary to get people to freedom. There is a hebrew song in jewish families across the country, including mine, that we sing every year. In english it means, it would have been enough it counts the blessings that we have. While these are challenging times, it is also a time when we should all count the blessings we have. Those family members or healthy and with us, the friends that we have. Whatever we have in our own lives to celebrate. It would have been enough. Let us count those blessings, despite the challenges so many people face. If you lost your job and dont know where rent is coming from, if you are not sure if employment will keep up, if your business has been closed because of the covid virus, if you cut hair and you cannot do that in your salon, if you are a nurse or doctor who does elective procedures, if you faced one of those elective procedures you cannot get those, you need knee replacement, all of those folks, a lot of real challenges. I think the best philosophical way to approach that is count the blessings on the other hand. This challenge on this hand, but we have this blessing in this blessing in this blessing as well. In just a couple weeks our muslim friends in colorado and across the world will be celebrating ramadan, where observers are tasked towards doing good deeds for others in putting forth the very best version of their sales and service of god. The best version of themselves in service of god. I think all coloradans can draw inspiration from these holidays that are upon us. I know that in person come in the case of easter and inhome religious services, in the case of passover are a key part of the celebrations. And for many of us, our faith and Spiritual Community are critical for emotional wellbeing, especially in a time of crisis. Unfortunately, this year those plans will look different than in previous years. Some of you may have seen the almost surreal image of pope francis last week standing alone, addressing an empty st. Peters square in vatican city. A stark contrast to the crowds that often materialize. Italy, one of the worst hit countries from covid19. And while the square may have been physically empty, the words of the pope, the power of faith reach the hearts and minds of catholics across the entire world. And we hope that spiritual fulfillment will be there this Holiday Season for all of us. And even if some traditions around the exercise of our faith need to be adjusted in new ways to address the perspective we all have for the sanctity of life and the real danger of this virus to congregants. It was really just a year ago, last passover, that in this very hall that we stand in at the Governors Mansion i hosted the first jewish governor of colorado the first passover with about 150 people. We had a boisterous table of children over there. We had legislators of the jewish faith and their spouses and others and Family Friends really and a large i dont know where we got the table. This table was like 100 feet long. It filled the whole hall. And part of what jewish families a passover tradition, and many christians also, honoring and remembering passover in different ways. Of course, the last supper of , and was a passover seder many members of the Christian Faith were invited into jewish homes to help observe this meaningful event. Here, took150 people turns reading the traditional document all around. Of course not only will this passover will there not be an event like that, but often there is intergenerational getting together. This holiday, my family like so many others, my parrots, grandma and papa will be safely in their home very we will have an ipad showing them, all of our cousins and kids, which we often observe passover with, will be in another chair with an ipad. And we will do our best. That is what families are doing. Nobody wants to put grandma and grandpa at risk. Anson uncles at risk. And uncles at risk. That is important for the home piece of passover and also for thisaster coming up sunday. Faith leaders are holding smaller events with 10 people or less to safely accommodate worshipers. And what so many faith leaders are stepping up and doing is providing online streaming and videoing of those and making sure they are Offering Online Services or drivein services. People a pastor group of , and we have Amanda Henderson, the executive director of the Interfaith Council and the cochair of the governors clergy counsel, and many larger do ahes asking how do we drivein service. We use the parking lot facilities and there is sound amplification or a radio signal, and people can be together but safely apart. Some churches will be doing that. One line streaming for larger churches, this is a production. That means a production that normally has 12, 15 people, you need to have less if you can. I know there is a camera person, audio person, you may have some buddy who performs a song. It is unlikely to be a choir in the sense that it used to be. That could be a dangerous situation for members of that choir. But the online streaming ability needs to be there, and so many churches across our state have done an amazing job. I know they will do an even more amazing production for sunday. Other pastors have invited coggins into their home, figuratively have invited congregants into their home, figuratively, not literally. They have shown intimacy by projecting from their own home library or study and really reaching a form of intimate fellowship in a way that can even be more effective than some of the traditional ways those houses of worship operated, especially in these challenging times. So many faith leaders of all denominations across our state have risen to the occasion every sunday since this began, and will rise to the occasion on Easter Sunday. The next slide, that is the online streaming. Drive up, as we mentioned. There is a way that can be done. It needs to be coordinated with county health as well. There is also the issue of noises in neighborhoods and where cars can be and all those normal things. But from a Health Perspective there is a way to do that, and coordinate with county health. It is not for every church. Most can reach more People Better through streaming technologies, but certainly that is available for those on Easter Sunday. Next, please. Finally of course, for secular , those who are not people of faith, that is also an important time of year, spring is a time that we all want to have picnics with our friends. We want to venture outdoors after what has been a long and snowy winter, although there are some snowy days ahead, but it is important that people d those spring traditions, defer any celebratory events associated with the spring equinox and involved different people. Just quietly reflect on spring and rebirth in your own home. For those of us who enjoy Easter Egg Hunt and, as my family does, we usually have our kids do it with other friends and kids. In fact, we host and Easter Egg Hunt at the Governors Mansion for members of the military, kids were stationed abroad. It is a wonderful event. Obviously we are not doing that this year. With our kids, we are not doing an egg hunt with their friends. But we are going to do in a conch with just our kids. We will have some fun with it. But we are going to do an egg hunt. I know that is what families across the state and the country and across the world would like in easter egg traditions. And we will spend time decorating around the eggs as well. I want to thank the veteran foundation. They recently announced Additional Support for research here in colorado. But before we get to that, i want to introduce reverend Amanda Henderson to talk about what faith leaders are doing to serve people of faith of our great state. Reverend henderson is the executive director of the Interfaith Alliance of colorado. She is an ordained christian minister. She is the cochair of the clergy counsel. She has served as a pastor and continues to work in different communities of faith. She has been so helpful assembling weekly calls for me with hundreds of faith leaders from across the state. And making sure that for coloradans of faith that we are able to get through this with the spiritual and pastoral support and the fellowship that we need come at a time when that physical proximity is dangerous to that very sanctity of life that we elevate in our faith traditions. Reverend henderson . Henderson thank you, governor perry good afternoon. My name is Amanda Henderson and i am a pastor in the Christian Church of christ and the executive director of the Interfaith Alliance of colorado. As a christian, i am in the midst of holy week, preparing to celebrate easter. This year my family will be celebrating virtually with our congregation and we will be hunting for eggs in our own backyard, with just the five of us. Though we will also do a zoom gathering with our extended family and connect and celebrate. My jewish friends are beginning passover tonight, and my muslim friends are preparing to begin ramadan and a couple of weeks. The month of fasting and honoring their connection to god. This is typically a time when we are celebrating spring and marking our holy rituals, spending time with family and friends come and gathering as communities. But as you know, covid19, the pandemic has changed everything and impacted every one us, inclg faith communities. While we grieve all that comes with the loss of these changes, and i share in that sadness of losing the traditions that we hold dear in this moment for to sayar, i also want that we also have an opportunity to live into our faith in new and deepening ways at this time. The truth is the most faithful thing we can do right now is stay home. The way we can show love, compassion, and commitment. The way we can love our neighbors is to assure we can stop the spread of covid19. And means staying home finding innovative ways to mark our holy days. We know that we can practice our faith and experiencing connection to god wherever we are. Congregations from across the state have been working hard to assure people spiritual, emotional, and physical needs are being met. Churches, synagogues, and mosques have adapted to this Health Crisis with creativity and heart. I have been inspired by the many things i have seen congregations doing to build communities in a and different ways. Like Broadcasting Services online. Even the red rock service, normally held at easter each year, will be online this year. Shabbat services have been pening every week live on facebook. Many of my friends are sharing passover meals with online family and friends. The community has been hard at work making plans to be able to practice virtually and celebrate their prayers during the month of ramadan while being apart. Those is printing homelessness have single occupancy housing. Providing childcare to First Responders and assuring those living alone know that they are not forgotten. Season, it is important, and we feel it in our bodies that we are all in this together. Even though we are practicing physical distancing, we are socially connected. Phone calls, xting, facetime, videoconferencing, even across our backyard fences six feet apart. I dont know about you, but im finding in this time that i feel in some ways more connected than ever to the people i love and those who i want to assure are kept safe. I encourage all people of faith, no matter what your tradition, to observe your religious traditions this year from home and stay safe and healthy. Of this, we the end will find ourselves on the other side stronger and more connected with new and innovative ways of Building Community and supporting one another. Thank you. Theres also many coloradans listening who are secular, humanist, buddhist, might not have a particular ritual attachment to this time of year. Just understand the importance there are days important to all of us on the calendar. For those coloradans who are secular, it might be american holidays, like the fourth of july, which happens to be my daughters birthday, or american thanksgiving, or Something Like your own birthday or the birthdate of your spouse or loved one. Thats how many coloradans of faith viewed Easter Holiday, the orthodox Easter Holiday, ramadan, passover. Important to you in your life, and there are many proud coloradans that are not part of the christian, jewish, or muslim faith, just understand the importance of these days. Just as you understand those days important to you. July whereourth of you arent going out to see fireworks and having a barbecue with friends. Thats important in your life. This is of even greater importance to those in the different spiritual traditions. I want coloradans to understand why its important to talk about and share the different ways we can experience fellowship at a very challenging time during a Global Pandemic its questions coloradans alone arent facing, questions in italy and spain, questions being faced in new york city, across our entire country. Onant to give you an update some relief efforts. The foundation created a one milliondollar Biomedical Research front to fight covid19. We know researchers across the state, both researchers at csu and Clinical Research being done at locations working hard to develop and test plasma treatment, treatments, vaccines, drug therapies, thank you for empowering that work. I also want to thank daniela lovato and andrews on our staff, who are handling the help colorado now. Org work. Colorado has risen to the occasion. I also want to thank coloradans working with their faith organizations, and secular nonprofits, that are helping their neighbors, delivering groceries to their 75yearold neighbor so they dont have to go out and helping those in need. Thank you to all of those for doing that. We have about 10,000 volunteers who have signed up at helpcoloradonow. Org. Thats a tough space. We especially need those with medical training. There are many across the board in different areas. Your services may or may not be called upon. If you have the ability to help, the time to help is now. Needed, onvices are the form is what you can do and your background to let you know. I am also very proud to report that the refund is just under 10 million now. With under 1 million raised in small donations from over 5000 donors to help colorado now. Org. Nonprofits and those in need are already applying for funding. There are 4 million going out the door right away to over 1100 Grassroots Community organizations, prevention impact, and they are going through that regularly. The purpose of the money youre donating is to get out the door, getting out the door quickly. I also want to encourage folks to apply. I want to be clear that in this time in our homes, if anybody is suffering from domestic abuse, you should leave your home under this order if you feel unsafe. This is not an order that in any way should make people stay at home if youre unsafe in your home. And the order is not an excuse for abusers to traumatize domestic partners or kids. And no one should feel unsafe if you have to leave your home. If you feel unsafe, call the Domestic Violence hotline, 8007997233. More than 250 Colorado National guard members have been mobilized and are on active duty to help Emergency Operations center and the city county of denver to help people in denver experiencing homelessness during the covid19 outbreak. Its an important Public Health issue, important from a humanitarian perspective. Under my command, the National Guard is providing planners to support local Emergency Operations in disturbing dissenters and noncongregated centers where needed. I want to thank the men and women of the card for assisting in this effort. And during these difficult times, especially the season of hope, season of liberation, season of resurrection, we need to luck out for those who are most vulnerable among us. Economically and as a great health risk because of the virus. We all need to step up and be there for one another in this trying time. Thats what gives me the faith we will pull through this in colorado. Our great colorado spirit. Everybody working hard, doing their part, staying home when they can, Wearing Masks if you have to go out, and giving what we can to defeat this virus and get back to a normal life and productivity, supporting ourselves as much as we can in this amazing state that we live. With that, i will take some questions. [indiscernible] the next week of data will be critical to the trajectory. We are seeing it from the bars and restaurants closing, which we started to see what we need. Because of this. Everybody stays home, whatever percent that is. It doesnt have any effect on the people that get infected. T takes four or five days we understand we can work with is four to five days. Some people have not chosen greater than that, for five days to show symptoms. Then from the onset, it leads to hospitalization, 9, 10, 11 days. Impact of howe many coloradans stay at home. The models that were released the other day that the researchers have put together, different results based on whether 60 of folks are staying at home, 70 , or 80 . It is more granular than not. Its not the percentage to stay home, its the overall reduction in social mixing that occurs. The people in a critical space and go to work might interact with almost as many people at work as they always have. Others might be cutting off, like my parents, they see no one. They are both 75, my mom has respiratory issues. And get staying at home groceries delivered. It is the average that matters. If we can achieve that 70 or greater, we will be in very good shape. We also need to prepare for whatever comes our way. The more coloradans have stayed home and are staying at home, end these we can horrible restrictions that interfere with our quality of life, ability to earn a living, economic growth, all of those things. It is not a contest to see what you can get away with. Of course you can get away with what you get away with. End about how soon we can these restrictions by staying at home and living in social contact, and the life you save could be your own. [indiscernible] can you talk about your conversations with the white house in the last 48 hours or so . I am in regular touch with the white house. This morning, along with a Smaller Group of governors, i spoke to secretary mnuchin. I will get back to the other stuff in a minute. Theres a lot of moving parts. We talked about some of the issues Colorado Companies are having with the Paycheck Protection Program, a great program. Secretary mnuchin reiterated the administrations support for increasing the size of the program so companies that need the 2 1 2 mens payroll can keep employees and get it. It has been great demand. If you are in one of those if you work for one of these companies that may or may not lay you off, there are a lot less being paid off because of this Paycheck Protection Program that enables companies to have a forgivable loan for 2. 5 months of payroll, as long as they keep you on payroll. For many coloradans and americans, we get our health care from being employed, retirement benefits, there are people who have lost their job. It would be a lot more people who lost their job if it wasnt for that, secretary mnuchin along with the governors who spoke on the call. I think six or seven governors. I showed some of our concerns to address that. Youre also in regular touch with fema about supplies. We are tracking that at the same time that we are doing everything we can ourselves through innovation groups, the folks working hard to be able to purchase supplies in the international market. We have focused on personal protection equipment. We hope that news will get better in the days ahead. I want to thank the csu lab, which is testing our supplies. Agreed to test the materials, they already are gowns, masks, surgical and other equipment we have been acquiring. We continue to express needs to fema. We generally made those public, as well. Femank it was addressed to where we put numbers. We appreciate any and all help. Timelines are so important, thinge we need the same on april 14. This many masks, this location they will arrive. This many ventilators. With both suppliers in the private sector and fema, what we really need are the date and quantity so we can build it into our overall planner. A shipment of those ventilators were on the way to that you had purchased. They were diverted by the federal government. [indiscernible] we get your reasoning on what happened and why . Are you satisfied with the ppe provided . Do politicalre to analysis. Im here to celebrate any ventilators that arrive in our state. 100re grateful for ventilators. If coloradans were successful at staying at home in very high numbers, we are hope will the surge will be we are hopeful the surge will develop in time. We are continuing to activate and adapt in colorado. The number we have in colorado is now about 500 more than when this crisis started. Thats a combination of purchasing, adapting, borrowing, hospital work, fema. So that Number Available has increased. We only hope coloradans are staying home enough that it will be enough. Placee all of our work in around additional supplies that we need to save lives for coloradans. Any details on how they might be able to slowly nationally [indiscernible] how we do business and live our lives in the same way, because the virus will still be with us on april 26. What we want is economic productivity, the ability to coloradans life, but know not only is Major League Baseball delayed, they will change the decision to open course field. We are usually there on opening day. It wouldnt be the full stadium we normally experience. They are making those plans. It might work. It might be empty stadiums and spring Training Facilities in arizona televised. There is going to be a way we can go back to work and live in a way that is more sustainable. It is not sustainable for everybody. It is frustrating. We just need to do it for a couple of weeks and get through this. After that date, we will go back to a Sustainable Way that until the virus is cured, or there is a vaccination, we will live in a way where it doesnt come back as a pandemic. The work of the next few weeks. Health experts say if we are going to lift the restrictions of the stayathome order, we need to have monitoring. Do you expect that to be the case by april 26 . If not, what is your response . Whatere is a lot to april 26 looks like. We will have a presentation on that before april 26. That includes all of the things you just asked about. Those gatherings, the maximum size of the gathering, the way that whether its april 26 or later that restaurants can reopen in some form. The mass testing piece, where it is, how you get tested, what it looks like. Testing itself doesnt cure anybody, its what comes after. How do you support the isolation and quarantine of the specific individuals who test positive and those exposed to them, rather than a mass quarantine of society, which is what is so economically devastating to us, as well as devastating to our morale. That is the guidance being worked on that will be presented before april 26 so people can prepare for it. [indiscernible] the biggest data point, there are a lot of Realtime Health data we will be looking at. A lot of it gets reported. Covid19. Colorado. Gov. Top line data, but you can dig down and get more data about who has it and where. Going toiggest one is be how successful coloradans are staying at home. We will have a good sense of that over the next week. The impact of that will roll on. The more coloradans are staying at home, the sooner it can endd and the more lives can be saved. Thats really the goal. The data will be out there for you. The interpretation of the data will be both our experts, your experts, outside experts can look at. You all have access to it. It is quite literally things like the number of people in the hospitals, on ventilators, and diagnosed that we expect to impact from stayathome. It probably already is having an impact. That impact will be greater and fully measured and felt over the next week. One more from phone, then we will go to alex. [indiscernible] most people here are Wearing Masks. We go on a walk a day with our dog and kids and we wear masks. It is very important. We want to make sure that when you were going grocery shopping, it inspires confidence when those grocery workers are Wearing Masks. Masks, it wearing doesnt just mean the commercial masks available, and i see a variety here. Some of you are wearing the masks you have acquired because you might be more at risk. Others are wearing cloth masks. They do a couple of things. Certainly they reduce the spread of the virus. They likely filter potential contagions and particulates. Even more important, one of the ways people get infected is touching your mouth and nose. You might touch a contaminated surface. Without even thinking about it, dozens of times an hour or some statistic like that, people touch their nose or mouth. You cant do that wearing a mask. And whythe true benefit it doesnt replace staying at home. You need to stay at home except when you actually need to go out. When you do, you are a lot safer if you can wear a mask. That is incredibly important, both for keeping the workers safe in the front line like Grocery Stores, as well as keeping yourself and your family safe. Testing doesnt your anybody, it helps guide the strategy. It sounds you have more specifics coming may be before the 26 of what testing we might need. Are we anywhere close to adequate system of testing in any way . Adequatehad the testing today, the state still theret be open, because are 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 people with covid19. Where societies have been successful with this, countries still operating at close to normal industrial capacity, areas of the world like taiwan, countries that have managed this effectively, even though it exists and are back to something closer to the normal way of life, they have been very successful at testing, but with testing comes the isolation of individuals and those who have been exposed. The goal will be for us when we already goneng has up a factor of 10 times in colorado from when it started. It is increasing all the time. The need will be greater at that point. Its not just testing, not just one tool. Do you remember when we went into the eoc and had our temperatures checked . That was the way they were able to catch the person that had it. The temperature was elevated. Otherwise, it may have been another day or two when that person went to work before severe symptoms manifested. Unfortunately, there is 25 to 50 that may not even have fever. For those who encounter a lot of people, testing is also important. Theres a lot to go into that strategy. That will be presented prior to april 26 around what that looks like. Dont think testing, think testingures, masks, for blood, the antibodies, and testing nasally for the virus itself. [indiscernible] spanish]ing helpcoloradonow. Org. Spanish] can you label the supplies . [indiscernible] the reason the date of the next few days is so important is because of the timeline we presented a couple of meetings ago. Shows noyou take impact on the spread of the virus in one day, three days, even in four or five days. When somebody is exposed to the virus, it takes four or five days for symptoms to manifest. There are reported cases where it is eight or nine days. The bulk of it, for five days after. Hose first symptoms are often manifesting slowly. Theget more symptoms and average time of hospitalization from when you get that first symptom is eight to 10 days. You are talking 12 to 15 days before any measure that we take has any impact on who is in a hospital. Thats what we are worried about. Nine and 10 people will need to go to the hospital to get covid19, it doesnt mean it will be fun. You might go through a lot at home. But you will need medical intervention to save your life. One intent, hospital facilities to give them that fighting chance of saving their lives. Many of them make it through. Often cases, thats oxygen. The more extreme and final intervention, which can be a ventilator for the 1 or 3 that need that. But the hospitalization is what we have been focused on, having that capacity. We want to do everything we can to make sure the coloradans who can make it through covid19 have that fighting chance to make it through. By having hospital beds, oxygen, ventilators to have that fighting chance to make it through. Into the tied decisions around hospital capacity. There was a presentation on that, and we can provide more info on specific goals around the addition of hospital beds, successfully delaying elective procedures, the work hospitals are doing, and the work the state is doing to provide the step down facilities. Somebody who might know longer need hospitalization but is still contagious and living in a nursing home is not just charged in the nursing home, they need to be discharged in a facility they need to be monitored and kept isolated and away from others who might be vulnerable. Thats a lot of the expansion work the Colorado National guard is involved with to help the hospitals free of those beds sooner rather than later. We will go to another in person. [indiscernible] every School District in our state is figuring out how to do commencement, as are institutions of higher education. They are all making the best decisions they can. Hopeful the students will be able to return physically in some way with social distancing, others are moving to a virtual kind of commencement. Others say next year with neck years class. We all want these rites of passage to be meaningful, especially for our air force cadets who work so hard at the academy. But for all coloradans graduating from high school, college, eighth grade. It is important to have meaning in these rites of passage. School district, universities, the air force academy are doing their best to figure out the best way to provide meaning without putting the lives of those graduates and their families at risk. [indiscernible] is there a thought to perhaps lowering the flag to halfstaff . I think there will be a time for mourning. There are more victims ahead of us than behind us. It wouldnt be for any one particular victim, but collectively for what we are suffering through. I think there is a time and place for that. Right now, the most important thing is we save lives by staying at home. Of course our community, communities across the world are reflecting on our losses, but we know there are many more losses ahead. People in the Real Estate Community [indiscernible] is that what your intention was . No closings can occur. Notaries can do their business. Closings can be attempted in person. Houses can be bought or sold. Which is responsible for its caption content and accuracy. Visit ncicap. Org] [indiscernible] just as they can close on the selling of their home, and the other scenario, they are the buyer of the home and can close on that. [indiscernible] homes are being bought and sold. The closings are going to be attended in person. The notaries can notarize virtually if there is any need for further clarification. Houses are being bought and sold across our state. Just as that person you are talking about, they are clearly going to the closing where they are selling their homes, just as we would be able to go to closing when they are buying their home. When they are selling their home, the buyer is also there. On thee also able to be other of the table as the buyer, if they want. Saying they want to buy a home, and this happened. People are buying and selling homes. Inspections are critical. Know, necessary people are there, and normal home purchases, buying or selling. Those are any comforts or difficulty, we are happy to help streamline that. The notary piece can be virtual. That is a change a temporary change on the emergency order from the lobby for. If there is anything else that can be done virtually, it is a great way to do it for what needs be done in person. It is most important those transactions take place because Everybody Needs a place to live and just as you can sell your home, you can also buy a home. People can rent homes. Occurring ins colorado. Anyone having trouble, send them to our office and will make it clear you can do that because it is happening across our state. It is down a little bit. There are many transactions that are occurring. [indiscernible] [indiscernible] yes, so we will have a presentation on that topic closer to that april 26 date but before that date, so folks are aware of what that looks like, and yes, it involves much greater testing. It involves temperature checks. It involves steps that we can avoid unnecessary gatherings and guidance. All of that will be presented, you know, shortly before things go that way. And it is being planned in a way where it can be rolled out in the real world and we will make sure that that guidance is available. Some of it is a been after april even after april 26. Aprils are closed through 30th. Some districts have canceled for the year but for those who will be reopening may 1, they will have some guidance around what that looks like for school on may 1. Again, it is not exactly the same as school was in january and february. Everybody knows that, but those parameters will be issued for those classes that are resuming. [indiscernible] testing kits right now, our instate testing capacity, we are conducting 10 times more tests per day then when this started about a month ago. Our capacity is greater meaning we can process between our hospitals and state have at least 10,000 tests a day. The main reason that number is closer to 2000 now is into reasons. One is lack of reagent, meaning we do not have the viral reagent for those tests. We are acquiring that. The second is simply the capacity of the healthcare system. Obviously, prioritizing the Clinical Care people who need it. It is really important that people think they might have this stayathome. I thought i said this the other day. I just want to be clear about this. 90 of people who have this virus will not need medical attention or care. They need to stayathome. The last thing that they want us 50,000 or 60,000 coloradans experiencing flulike symptoms. Coloradansant 60,006 coloradans when they would be doing the exact same thing. You stayathome and try to get better and you seek out medical care if you urgently need it. No matter what that condition is. The situation would be much worse if we had 60,000 coloradans scrambling around our hospitals, distracting and taking the time of our medical personnel who need to be treating those who need the most medical interventions rather than staying at home, trying to get better, whether it is covid19, whether it is not. If it is covid19, 10 might need hospitalization. If influenza, maybe 1 ,. 5 . Unless you need medical care, isolate yourself, stayathome, and yes, the testing will increase, but and it has increased, and it will increase, and it will be a much bigger part of our lives, but we do not want people scrambling all over and risking exposing themselves and others just because they want that psychological certainty. I know it is frustrating because you want to know, do i have a cold, the flu, or covid19 . Ismatter what your condition , the diagnosis does not mean anything in terms of what you do. And in any of those, id i should say if it is bacterial, you might need an antibiotic. If it is influenza, cold, covid19, it is the same. If it is bacterial, you might still need that strep test or whatever it is, but unless the symptoms indicate, and your doctor indicates that you need to visit in person, it is best to isolate yourself and stayathome to avoid others contracting whatever you have. [indiscernible] gov. Polis it will be tied into the quantity of testing we have, april 26. We will not have a condition where you need a different amount of tests than we have, so it is constrained by what we can do not just in terms of reagents but also in terms of where and how the testing is done, so testing will be done at a much greater scale. Those details will be forthcoming. And do not think just testing. Also think things that are instantaneous and quick like temperature tests and other measures that will be in place as we returned to more normalcy. Return to more normalcy. [indiscernible] gov. Polis i think that that is a realistic date that we can achieve as long as coloradans are staying at home. This willans are not, get worse and much worse and we will need more space and more equipment and it will need to last longer. If coloradans are succeeding at staying at home, with the timeline of the virus, meaning everything we have talked about, the time from exposure to getting it, to symptoms, to being hospitalized, there will be enough time for us to have the data we need to offer coloradans the security they need that if they are staying at home in sufficient numbers, we should be able to have a much greater degree of return to normalcy. If that can happen a day or two sooner, no one will be more excited than me to do that. We will all be excited to do that. Its also possible that if coloradans are not staying at home and the virus is still spreading on the bodies are piling up at a later date at a greater rate, that that could need to be extended. [indiscernible] showing re that and some people want to know why it is ok to go to the Grocery Store but you cannot, as a realtor, show a potential buyer gov. Polis many realtors are doing virtual showings but it is not the same thing. There should be a way that people can engage in those types of activities but the more we are staying isolated and staying at home, the quicker we can reopen. So all of these things are very important, and people say why not have this store and that store and this kind of office and and every one of those are all essential parts of our economy, but the more that are interacting, lower that social distancing number is, and the longer these not just about longer these horrible, horrible restrictions have to stay in place that we cannot wait to end, but also, the greater the death toll will be and the more people will contract the last time we have to build the capacity and the health care. It all ties together. My overall guidance is the maximum amount of economic productivity, economic transactions, commerce, market activities, and we want the most, highest possible number with the minimum amount of physical proximity. And so, that is why, you know, some kinds of classifications of stores have gone to curbside, while restaurants are doing delivery, why we are doing notaries. Anything that we can do that facilitates commerce and trade that does not bring people together physically, we want all those ideas. Post them on our website. You can go to the governors facebook page. You can tweet at us any ideas you have that there is more trade and transactions and commerce that can occur without more people having to be together, that is exactly why we have cut red tape, reduce regulations. We have allowed people that, for in and some are buses and waiters at restaurants not have to go through insurance for delivery, facilitated virtual services. People can do everything from state services, like renew drivers licenses, that had to be in person, can now be done virtually and online. That is exactly what we need to be able to get through this as quickly as part. Because this is a challenging time, you know, not just around our faith traditions, which we lead with, and i will end with, but also challenging time economically for the people of our state, but you know, it gives me faith that people of colorado are showing our bighearted spirit. People really understand the reason that we need to stayathome except when absolutely necessary that we need to wear a facial covering when we do go out, and that is what is important. If you are not doing that, you are not cheating anybody except for yourself because if people are going out and mixing and socializing, and not Wearing Masks, it prolongs this difficult time for the rest of us, and it ultimately costs lives and that life could be somebody you have never met and never know and is just a statistic to you but it could also be your uncle or aunt, your brother or sister, and it could even be yourself.
