Sen. Bennet ok. Come on in. Sen. Bennet thank you. Open for business. He has the language of the constitution. Do you . It is a requirement. Sen. Bennet im just proofreading our good work. You wanted to be michael, not mike . Sen. Bennet that is fine. Had i known i was going into politics, i would have been mike. You can have mike. Sen. Bennet thats ok. Where do you want . Right here . Right here. Thank you very much. What this is this is a notice we sent out to the voters that gets publicly posted in every community in the state as a remembrance of the filing, we ask the candidate to put their Campaign Slogan or something they wish to say. Sen. Bennet sure. Thank you. You can we are going to go back. We will come back. Sen. Bennet we will take questions and come back. I would say, i am delighted to be here to file my paperwork. We are excited about this. The secretary of state and i were talking about the example of colorado a colorado senator who was able to find attraction in New Hampshire and when here coming from far behind in the poll. I think they can do a similar thing in this race. I believe we are where New Hampshires voters are. Not just the base of democratic parties, but independent voters as well. What janineh about has done to get elected to know what it takes to get elected and win in New Hampshire. That is why i am here. I believe it is important for donald trump to be a one term president. You have to be tim cook but also figure out how to govern ident for the interests of our children. We need a president who cares about your kids and my kids. I dont think donald trump cares about tom barrack because kids. He is the least patriotic president have had. I am looking forward to this campaign in New Hampshire. The weather is beautiful today. Hampshire is only beginning to make up their minds. I am here at the white moment. I thank you for your help. Thank you. [applause] sen. Bennet and thank you for being here. That is some good history. I want to follow up on that. You have resources to expand your operation . We have the resources to expand our operations and we hope to go up on air in the state. A couple hours ago, we had amy klobuchar. Sen. Bennet we could have carpooled. She makes a lot of the same argument you are. What makes you stand out . Ways, i am in many better situated than all of them. I am a different generation than mayor pete or Vice President biden, in between them in terms of age. I would make an art that is a good age. I have to work at the local level like mayor pete, but my School District a budget that was three times bigger than his citys budget. I spent 10 years in the senate in some of the most important bipartisan discussions we have had as a country. On immigration and health care and education. I have been at the center of all of those battles and learned a lot about how the place works. It does not work and what has to change to fix it. I think i have the right set of experiences. Experience of being in business and being a superintendent is distinct from others in this race, prosecutors or lawyers. I think it is useful to have someone and the white house that does something about our schools and knows how to read a ballot sheet and an income statement. That may sound novel, but i think it is useful. Thanks for having me. Good to see you. [applause] nice seeing you too. Good seeing you. Thanks for making the trip. Good to see you. May i suggest an analogy . Sen. Bennet that is an excellent analogy. Should we turn around . There you go. They will see this on facebook. Sen. Bennet all right. Thanks, everybody. Hi. Michael bennet. Nice to meet you. How are you . Hi. Michael bennet. Thank you for letting cows impose on you. I appreciate it. Thank you. All right. Thanks. Good to see you. Thank you. Thanks for being here. Ok. All right. Good to see you. Hi. We have a guests from alabama. You work at the legislature . Sen. Bennet good to see you. And virgina. Sen. Bennet if you put those legislatures together they would not equal the number of seats in New Hampshire. It is great to see you. Who are these . These are the students from Unity Christian School in New Hampshire. Sen. Bennet what grade are you . Six. Sen. Bennet fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth . Middle school . What are you here to learn about . Can i tell you who i am . I am a United States senator from colorado. I dont know if you have ever been to colorado. I have. My dad was there. Sen. Bennet we are known for our mountains. You have . Thank you. Yours are beautiful too. They are different, but beautiful. My data skis in colorado. Sen. Bennet what are you learning today . Have you started . Just putting up the flag. Sen. Bennet that are a whole bunch of flax in there that were in the civil war. It did you see those . Yes. Sen. Bennet good. Do we want him to sign our guest book . Sen. Bennet oh right, i left that part out. We have our guest book. Sen. Bennet what would be better for you . Whatever you would like to use. Sen. Bennet thank you. Amy klobuchar. She was here this morning. Sen. Bennet i told them we should have carpooled. I saw her last night. Ok. Putting signs all up. A bigger wall get at the New Hampshire state house. Every time someone assigns papers, everyone gets quiet. Dont distract them. Sen. Bennet i wrote, thanks for caring about our kids. These guys probably do this all the time. , one less tradition, like a picture with the kids. Sen. Bennet i would be honored. Where are we looking . Ok, great. Senator. You, it has been a pleasure. Sen. Bennet very nice to see you. What is the lunch situation for you guys . We already had lunch. Sen. Bennet have you had debt . What time is it . Are you going back to school this afternoon or are you done for the day . For the day . That seems pretty good. It is nice to meet you. You have to know your teachers are special people. Special people teach middle school. Thats right. Sen. Bennet a lot of patients. Ence. Lot of pati we could use some middle School Teachers in the u. S. Senate because you need patience thereto. Yes sir . Corporations are after the bottom line and becoming more efficient. How do you see the issue of job loss due to automation . Reactednet we have not to the job loss from the last revolution in automation, including the job loss we had because of automation in agriculture, which people dont think about agriculture. There is job loss there. We need to make sure our tax policies are rewarding work in. His country and not automation when we think about a company like gm that employs a lot of people and not as many as they used to, but still employs a lot, they pay a lot of papal tax and the people who work pay a lot of payroll tax. Amazon, one of the most profitable countries in the world, they are not paying any taxes. That suggests a problem. Incentivizing work instead of incentivizing job loss . That is one part. The other part, the education answer. These kids are going to have to be in the position to react to a velocity of changes we never had to. This last generation never knew existed. The only way they will do that is if they are prepared. The only way they will do it as if they become lifelong learners so during the course of their lives they can adjust and get the skills and knowledge they need to earn a living wage in an economy you and i cant even begin to imagine. The disruption will be an dorm is. There will be a lot of to beunities, but we need flexible. He wait to be flexible is to be knowledgeable. The way to become knowledgeable is get a decent education. Not a education designed and the 19th century, but one coming to grips with the 21st century. We have time for one more. Sen. Bennet is that true . How much if how about if i have shorter answers . I want to know how tough you can get. Ui to nice. Sen. Bennet did you want to arm wrestle . I would probably beat you. I tell you why i ask. Ago, i worked for another guy and he was too nice. My soninlaw said he cannot make it. He is too nice. You seem to nice. How tough can you get . Sen. Bennet i am the father of three daughters. That makes a person tough. I have been a superintendent, which makes a person tough. I am on the school board. Sen. Bennet so you know. I am sure the pay is really good. [laughter] for doingt thank you that. I know how tough it is. It is hard, when you are changing the way school is operating for generations and engaging the community. It was a daily battle. It always felt worth doing. I dont think anyone in that context thought i was not tough enough or didnt have the courage. And was not openminded and listening for new information to make better decisions or change my mind. Sometimes, that is a sign of toughness. Your willingness to learn a new fact and have that adjust the way you approach life. Anymore. Es that the older i get, the less certain i am of what i think on every issue. The more interested i am in hearing from other people. I had an occasion to have a conversation with ted cruz on the floor of the senate when trump shut the government down and ted cruz was talking about how unfortunate it was our coast guard was not getting paid, which i believed was unfortunate. The only thing, i knew ted cruz shut the government down when colorado had been flooded in 2011. If he had the opportunity to watch that on youtube it is a speech that has been watched more than any other speech in the history of the senate. I think you will see an answer to your question. I consider myself to be the opposite of donald trump. Not worried about whether i can go up against them. I am not worried about whether i am tough enough. He is a bully. Somebody as somebody who was a superintendent, i know what you do with a bully. One think you dont do is play into their hands. One thing you do is isolate them for what they are doing. State is one my third, one third, one third. Here is a guy who got elected attacking john mccains patriotism. A guy who was in solitary confinement, given the opportunity to leave and would not leave because they said, we know you are an admirals son and you can get out. John mccain said, that is not how this works. The earlier you get there, the earlier you get to leave. Spursuy said he had bone and did not go to vietnam, tried to make john mccain into a laughingstock. It was repeated over and over on fox news and all over this country. If a kid in my household did whateverohn mccain, you do in the 21st century, wash their mouth out with soap. If your grandparents said that about john mccain, you would say, we apologize. That will not happen again at our dinner table. We lost something of ourselves in the last election. That we comecency to expect from each other. To have someone in the white house who cannot model the most basic behavior of politeness and civility, who is turning our border into a symbol of hostility, who believes our differences are weaknesses and not strengths, someone who does not believe in the separation of powers or independence of the judiciary or freedom of press, all the things New Hampshire fought for over the years, who does not even believe in our democracy, who believes i alone can fix it, which is what he said when he ran. That is the opposite of how this is supposed to work. We need someone tough enough to engage the American People in this democratic project. It belongs to us. There is no one else to come to the rescue. Only citizens can answer the barbell at night. The other point you were making, lincoln said we must never be enemies, we must be friends. This is during the civil war. If he can feel that way during the civil war, we should feel that way now. Know you have places to go. Let me just say, this country was not founded on the idea we agree with each other. The point was the opposite. It was founded on the id yet we would disagree. The idea we would disagree. They had disagreements and they knew we would. That was the point in the point in living in a republic. You have your point of view and i have mine. The idea was, out of disagreements, we would forge not some lazy consensus or a weak compromise, but forge a durable solution than any king could come up with on their own. That is the point. Thats what we have lost. We need a president top enough to understand, we live in a country with a huge number of diverse points ofwe need a presh to view, but we have an obligation to drive the country forward, to preserve democracy and americas place in the world, and some choices are better than others. I believe that is what we need out of the next president and white i decided to go on. I hope being nice is not disqualifying. After the ted cruz speech, my college was watching at at a came on and she heard me and said, oh, i have heard that voice before. [laughter] every time there was an article after that that said, mildmannered michael planet Michael Bennet, they would roll their eyes and ascended to me. I am tough enough. I appreciate your asking. Next time, we will arm wrestle. Thank you all for being here. [applause] all right. Thanks again. I am a former schoolteacher. Sen. Bennet what did you teach . [inaudible] sen. Bennet all right, lets go. All right. Sen. Bennet how are we doing on time . Great. Sen. Bennet we are . Yes. That was a good town hall. Sen. Bennet people had good questions. Are you tough enough . I think she thought so. I should bring the girls with me. They can tell them. For the next one, we start at 4 30. An hour and 15 minutes, then we get on the road. We were talking about therefore that . Their beforeout that . How far is this next place . 14 minutes away. Sen. Bennet right on time. Beautiful downtown. It was right back there. [inaudible] the moon is up. [inaudible] they called me back. [inaudible] is goingink this straight up the hill . [inaudible] sen. Bennet oh, really . [inaudible] sen. Bennet i think this might be too much for cspan viewers. The driving. You hear that guy say, i saw your book talk . I saw your book talk on a cspan2 . I forgot about that. [inaudible] sen. Bennet i dont know. [inaudible] sen. Bennet a crowdpleaser. [inaudible] [inaudible] sen. Bennet makes for a wonderful photograph. How old is she now . 13. Sen. Bennet is amazing. Hi. How are you . You are probably wondering why i brought you altogether. I brought you altogether for a great reason. Hard to i am trying makes new what hampshire the perfect breeding ground for president ial candidates. Live one. Y, i found a [applause] i am not going to take up much of your time. I am going to introduce to you senator Michael Bennet. Grandson whose name is emmett. That is to ease, to ms, and tutees. And twoo es, ts. Candidates participating in dog and pony shows. They call them debates, they are not really debates. You have 60 seconds to answer a complex question. It makes no sense. This is a chance to hear from who are committed to hear from you. Else, isaying anything would like to invite you to share with us what brings you here to the first of the nation primary. Sen. Bennet thank you very much. Lets give her a round of applause. [applause] sen. Bennet i am extremely grateful to have the chance to be here with all of you into this beautiful place. What an incredible house and what an amazing setting. Grateful all of you are willing to take time out of your day to spend time with me. I am going to try to be brief because i would like to spend the time taking whatever questions or criticisms or observations about any topic. We have a lot things going on. That is the way i learn. That makes this evening important for me. Maybe i will see a few words about me. Read incredibly decisive critique of the nominating process and our political system, you should have a to the oped she had to taper yesterday. What paper was it . The herald. It is a beautifully written piece but also very nuanced. I would appreciate i read it on the plane up. I cannot see you because i am worried you are hiding behind there. I am. [laughter] sen. Bennet i didnt know whether you were about to gang up on me. Let me introduce myself. My name is Michael Bennet. I am a senator from colorado. My wife and i moved there almost 25 years ago. I followed her there. Lawyer,n environmental she wanted to work for a group which is now called earth justice. She became the head of the Rocky Mountain region. I followed her there and i was trying to stop practicing law and i went to work in business and it did that for almost a decade and then ended up becoming the superintendent of the Denver Public schools, a School District of 95,000 kids, a 1 billion budget. I am happy to talk about that if people are interested. It was a challenging but rewarding period of my life. It was from that job i was appointed to the senate. I had to run in 2010, a terrible year for democrats. That was the rise of the tea party, which is become metastasized into the freedom caucus, a group of people who have immobilized our exercise in selfgovernment. I want that race barely. Less than three percentage points. 2016, which also turned out to be a terrible year for democrats, barely survived that a raise. I am the only candidate who has wanted to National Elections in a swing state. [applause] sen. Bennet thank you. I think that is why i come to this work the way i do. I did not put a set of issue papers together for this campaign. I did not figure out my position on health care in the last 10 minutes. I have a set of issuesi did note i have been working on over the past 10 years in a state that is one third republican, one third democrat, and one third independent. Astate where i have responsibility to represent everyone whether they agree with me or dont. A state where i spent a lot of nights like this in places and counties where i will never win a more than 30 of the vote no because of i do just our politics, but feeling like it is not a burden, but an obligation and a responsibility to try to stitch the people in my state together and stitch the people and the country together again. Which is what we have to do. Beating donald trump is essential, but not enough. We have to figure out how to govern the country. Its i wasi am here filling out the paperwork and paying my fee for the first of the nation primary. Thank you for allowing me to do that. The check is appreciated. Sen. Bennet when i was there, gary hart, when he was running, also a son of colorado, showed up with dollar bills to pay his fee because he collected it from people across the state. In usaote an oped piece today this week and doors my candidacy and explaining how you can go from one to leading the field if you are lucky enough to do well in New Hampshire. Fork you on behalf of terry doing what you did for gary and we are trying to do the same thing this time. The agenda i put forward on health care and climate and the givemy is one i think can us a chance of not just coalescing the democratic base, which we have to do, what also winning back the 9 Million People that voted twice for donald trump or twice for barack obama and once for donald trump. I know it is hard to imagine people, but there are. They have been voting out of desperation because they are living in an eight, that has not worked well for them and has not for most americans. If i had to summarize the left 10 years of town hall meetings, it is people saying, we are working hard but no matter what we cannot afford housing, health care, education, or childhood education. We cannot afford a middleclass life. For the families i used to work for, most of whose kids are living in poverty, what they would say, we are killing ourselves, but no matter what we do we cannot get our kids out of poverty. That is an anecdotal reflection of how our economy has not worked, when you see all the growth and if it the people at the top and nobody else. Last longy cannot under those circumstances. That is before you introduce donald trump into our bloodstream. We are now in the position of the opportunity of having someone like trump as our president. If you look at his twitter feed over the weekend, if anybody in any business in New Hampshire spent their weekend doing that, they would be sitting with the Hr Professionals of their company, having them tell them that they have to stop doing it because if they keep doing it they will lose their job. If the response from that employee was, you dont need to worry about that, i am a stable genius which is what donald trump has been saying they would spend the day cleaning out their desk. What was happening while he was doing that and we were distracted by all that . Amount ofoubling the centrifuges they were using to enrich uranium. Find out assigning a trade deal with countries from all over the of thehat represent 50 worlds economy and we were barely even at the meeting. The reverberations of what the president did by abandoning the kurds in syria happening not just and that part of the world, but all over the world. Donald trump has treated this like it is a reality tv show. It is our reality. From my perspective, more important than that, it is our kids and grandkids reality. We will be judged on how we leave this place to them. We go through another 10 years like the last 10 years, we are going to be the first generation who leaves less opportunity, not more, to our kids. I find that unacceptable. As a parent, as someone who worked in the Public School think it is unacceptable. We will have to figure out how to construct politics that unifies the American People. Which is not the same thing as saying we have to agree with each other. That is not how a democracy is supposed to work. Must belincoln said, we friends, we can never be enemies. The context was the civil war. He said that over and over. T meant, we need to be friends with democracy, we need to do our share to make sure this experiment that started not far from here is something we can sustain for the next 200 years. That is what is at stake in this election. Our democracy is freighting, it is at risk, and the only people that can save it is us. What we do in this election is going to matter for that. It is not the only thing that is important. I believe we will fight for this for the rest of my life. We should not be burdened by that. A should feel like you have rendezvous ourselves with destiny and all of us have a role to play. The only difference between you ts on myi have two name. I have a couple questions. Background is as a surgeon. I was on hillarys failed Health Care Plan. I hope you are going to ask me a nonhealthcare question. The question i have, one involves the Health Care Plan share. U as a senator everyone in the room would love to have your Health Care Plan, so are you willing to give up the best Healthcare Plan in the world win or lose . Im on the kaiser plan that my wife gets. For those 10 years, i have never taken the subsidy. I cannot speak for the others. When you get on the stage and discussing health care with your progressive candidates who are leading, would you be willing to if they would give up their health care for medicare for all . If bernie would say was here he would say yes, i would. It would be better. Im going to use this as an opportunity to talk about the differences in the race. I dont support medicare for all. And myot the right plan bottom line is this. Do not want to spend the next 10 years fighting a losing. Attle our kids dont have time for us to do that and is said we need to drive Economic Opportunity ,or everyone in the country fighting on Climate Change so that our kids that have a plan, it is not incinerated and reforming the government. Stuff. A lot of i appreciate Bernie Sanders commitment. Theas been consistent since early 1970s. I think it is the wrong thing puttingcrats to the forward in the selection and i wont. I hope we will nominate someone with a better plan. Has heardlan nobody of that would reduce childhood 40 . Ty in america by code. A change to our tax it would cost 3 of what medicare for all the costs. If you think about kids all over New Hampshire, that would mean a lot more to them than medicare for all. Himhould not be following over the edge in my humble opinion. What i want to ask about is vocational training. What i was hoping you could talk yout is potentially how andd adapt or change perhaps help those who are vocationally inclined . Thank you for teaching and secondly, that is my education plan. We haveave said is that to figure out and this should be our focus, how to put the 70 of to college, not go whatly prepare them to do prepares them to do a minimum wage and if you start them at a minimum wage, you are in far less than if you earn a living the way iay propose to do that disease federal resources to pay for the aligning the system were kids in the sixth grade are going to know what they have to learn by the time they graduate high school to learned earn a living wage which will probably change by the time they are in to the time they are graduation graduating. Today, we have a system that is not even training them for the 21st century jobs they have right now. It is basically a system designed for the 18th century. I actually view this as low hanging fruit that could transform the lives of millions of americans and the American Economy just as our Education System transformed the economy when we invented high school need to reinvent high school for the 21st century. Invented high school. We need to reinvent high school for the 21st century. I met a young woman who is at a technical high school. The Manchester School of technology. That is the obvious name for a Technological High School in manchester. That is tricky. [laughter] she was working with her team on building a hovercraft. I said to her at the end we had this long conversation about her education on what she was learning. I said, what are you doing after you graduate . She looked at me with a huge smile on her face. She said, i am going to be an underwater welder. You doing after you graduate . She looked at me with a huge smile on her face. She said, i am going to be an underwater welder. I said, i bet that job pays well. She said, it absolutely does. That is what we could be doing. While we are on the question of how we pay people, we have to pay teachers in this country like they are the professionals that they are. [applause] america today, the system we have is a system that was designed when we had a labor market that discriminated against women and said, you have two professional choices. One is being a teacher, and one is being a nurse. If you do not want to be a nurse, tongue teach Julius Caesar every year for 30 years of your life. We will pay you a ridiculously low salary that no one else in your College Class would accept. Years, we will30 give you a pension that sounded pretty good back then because your spouse would probably die before you. That is our system. No other enterprise in america pays people like that. Unless we can figure out how to do it differently, we will continue to lose 50 of people from the profession. I am not running to be the president of Americas School board, but it seems to me we have a National Interest in figuring out where the next couple million teachers are going to come from and how we move from a place where if you are born poor in the United States, your chance of graduating with a college agree is roughly one in 900. Real quickly. Im afraid of drawing you under the bus. Than i do not want to call on you. My wife . Definitely wants me to do it and she does not have any personal ambitious for me. She just thinks him the right person. Its not just because she wants to keep me out of the house. I, we have these three daughters as i told you earlier. I consulted them before iran and said what do think . Myause i have not spent whole life running for president. I have not. I have done a lot of other things. I was in the senate for 10 years. But i started to think, i do not believe anybody else has diagnosed the problems the way i have and i do not think people are Offering Solutions that are going to unite us. Im worried about that. I said, what do think, should i run . Aid,15yearold s absolutely. She was 14, by the way, at the time. Absolutely, you should run. Im proud of that. She thinks that much of my service to the country in my ideas. Thate two sentences followed it became clear that she saw this as an Incredible Opportunity to have me out of the house for her 15th year. And but my oldest daughter said to me, shes 20 now, she said, dad, if you run and they tell the truth and you lose, no one can fault you for it. That is what she said. And issa said, that is good caroline, because there is no other reason for me to run. And theres no other way i can win. It is the only way i can win. Desmonths or so ago, the Moines Register had been meeting with, the largest paper in iowa, the Editorial Board had been meeting with all of the candidates and they wrote editorials after the meetings and the one they wrote after i was there had the headline that said Michael Bennet pounds truth into this campaign. At the end of the editorial is said iowans, even if you thought you were going with somebody else you should give this guy another look because hes talking about things in a way that other people are not talking about it. I was able to send that editorial to caroline. Kept faiththink i with her in this effort. But i do not want to lose. I want to win. It is important for us to have a president that is going to tell us the truth. It is important for us to have children who cares our kids and grandkids. The current president doesnt. He does not care about his grandkids. Sure if even cares about his own kids. No, dont go. I am not sure a second house asked this question. Although i am very liberal, i believe that the top candidates polling are unlikely choice. R best but i also has observed i think one of the midwesterners who is also a senator who seems honest, experienced, credible, and so, i was wondering if you think to, how you would incorporate some of the other potential candidates into your candidacy. Well, thats a wonderful way of asking the question. I thought it was maybe going in the other direction. Look, we, this goes back to the point about public service. Pent basically since Ronald Reagan was president , we have had decades and decades and decades of denigrating, you know, public service. And, by the way, Ronald Reagan would never recognize himself in this republican party. He would recognize himself in the freedom caucus. Said explicitly back when he was saying government is the problem remember that . Im not here to dismantle it. These guys are here to dismantle it. And i think we need, our problems are so bad and the challenges are so great that we people in thebest country. And some of those people probably are other people in this race, and some of those people are probably people that have Never Working government in their lives. You know, we have to figure out how to do with the Health Care Costs in america. We have got to figure out how to do it. No one in washington is smart enough to do that by themselves. They need to have people from outside who are working in it every single day to help us figure out how to resolve i t. Nobody there is smart enough to figure out on their own or asking the questions. What are we going to do with all the dislocations because of Artificial Intelligence . We need the best and brightest from all over america to be part of this challenge, looking to the future. And i think we have an amazing pastrtunity if we can get donald trump and if we can get past the daily ritual on the cable and into actually trying to fix the country. So, i have always believed in having a Diverse Group of people and the highest quality folks that i can find. Im often asked, how did you do this and how did you do that . The trick is finding people who are a lot better at doing their job than you would ever be a doing their job and marshaling them together to overcome the challenges and see the opportunities. Nk, we obviously have enormous challenges but you cannot lose sight of the incredible opportunities we have to and, again, we are the only one second seize it. Nobody else can seize it. Of you not see any again, which i hope i will, but if i dont, what i would say to you is, no matter who you end up supporting in this race, who you end up voting for, please plan to make it your business to get everybody who is eligible in this country to vote in the next election. Because if we do that [applause] if we do that, we will be able to come out of this period with need to address the challenges. Marjorie, thanks read very much for having me. Thank you very much. Before you were born, there was a president who said ask not what the country can do for you but what you can do for the country. That brought me to washington and to graduate school, because we really believed that we could make a difference and we had an obligation to make a difference. And its been awhile since that philosophy has been on the foreground of the world in which we live. Get back to that or we are in real trouble. And i want to thank you. But i also wanted thank everyone in this room who on a wednesday afternoon at 4 30, not the ideal 4,e, dealing with route nonetheless came to hear a credible, thoughtful, honorable candidate. And if we had more of us and maybe more of you but at least then were in good shape. Thank you. [applause] thank tonight, a look at Global Security in the Persian Gulf Region. Here is a preview of tonight discussion. Vladimir putin is the guy that has played a weekend week weak hand very well. Have the ability to challenge the United States andhe recent the region he is someone that has a vision of russia and who believes russia should have a seat at the table when all the security and political issues are debated in the middle east, so he is going to do that, but at the end of the day, he is not really our competition. Our competition in terms of great powers is china. Becoming increasingly the number one economic partner for the gulf states and that is going to continue. Chinese are going to let us take on the hard issues of security and stability in the region all they focus on prospering through their relationships with the gulf states. Death ratestaggering of prisoners. What i want the candidates to focus on is constituents and never get their voices heard and as an investigator who has blown the whistle on multiple farms with animals, i am facing felony charges. I want the candidates to focus inside is going on places where animals are criminally abused. Individuals like you and me have the right to rescue these animals. Candidateslove the to talk more about gun safety, and how we should not have them, but more importantly our environment does not need handguns and assault rifles. I would like to see the candidates focusing on trying to reinstate the Voting Rights act and bringing fairness back to the election. We need to not only control and make sure elections are secure, but we need to make sure everyone who is a citizen is having vote without penalties and fines that they can never get out of. Voices on the road in suspense. Cspan went on the campaign trail with Pete Buttigieg as he met with Granite State voters. The day started at a town hall in lebanon, New Hampshire and then franklin and then a campaign party. Mayor buttigieg i want to begin by asking you to picture, as vividly as possible, something that is going to happen in the future.
