These are things that democrats are really riled up about given the aggressive actions on immigration all through the summer. Democrats are ready to go to the mat on this. Republicans are also dug in. We are staring down the same fight that we had last year. The senate will take up the continuing resolution but on the house floor, the bills from Lauren Underwood of illinois and Veronica Escobar of texas. You said representative escobars border bill was pulled back in july. Why did they pull that, what is in that, and also tell us what representative underwoods bill would do. Congresswoman escobars bill was slated to come to the floor. Democrats wanted to tackle the oversight issue. They really wanted to make sure of brand new requirements, especially when it comes to migrant children. In the weeks leading up to this vote, they added more controversial items. They went bigger and broader. It was something that moderate democrats could support. Democratic leaders decided over the summer recess to go back to the original bill that was filed by congresswoman escobar. This does things like establish an office of ombudsman for immigration concerns, someone who congress can go to beyond just the agency, just the handpicked agency officials. They want more training. They want body cameras warned by customs and border agents. This bill is not likely to have a lot of drama. It will be a much different look than what we saw in july. What about congresswoman underwoods will . Underwoodsoman bill, it is one more way for democrats to take action, trying to have some uniform processes for medical screenings. Congresswoman underwood has a medical background, her bill focuses more on medical screening. Barely any week goes by without some news out of the house Judiciary Committee. They held what chairman nadler said was the first impeachment inquiry. Colleague,cal coreyr, has a story that lewandowski deserves to be held in contempt. There are reports that the Judiciary Committee is looking into holding mr. Lewandowski in contempt. It is a complicated procedure. That is something we will see. They are having two hearings in the upcoming week. One of them is on emoluments. Theyre trying to call this the trump corruption hearing. They are trying to make it easier for people to understand. Digging into the problem democrats have with what trump has done keeping his businesses while he has been president. There is another hearing looking at is muslim ban. The Judiciary Committee is juggling a lot of different hearings, a lot of different subpoenas and procedures. We will see if the concerns of mr. Lewandowski, holding him in contempt, we will see how that plays out. House democratic Leadership Strategy on impeachment is any clearer now . Sarah i think the hearing exposed some trouble areas. It was hard to see if there were any new information or arguments. They are basically regrouping this week. They are trying to reshape their message. They want to have it a little bit sharper and narrow in on what exactly the Trump Administration and the president has done wrong. They are looking to focus on Something Like emoluments, corruption. They feel like that is easier for people to understand than obstruction of justice. They are trying to see what will work best as they have this critical phase in the next couple of weeks and months to decide whether to move forward with full impeachment hearings, which most democrats think the deadline for that is the end of the year.
